      Hi Julie--I am so happy for you. Your recovery is thanks enough, believe me! I may be collecting stories in the near future to help inspire others so if you'd care to participate when the time comes that would be lovely, but I realize not everyone feels comfortable sharing stories publicly. If you think you'd consider it please send me a note through my contact page: www.diagnosisdiet.com/contact/

    Worst episodes of depression and absolute lethargy I ever experienced in my life were the times I attempted a vegetarian/vegan diet. Felt like my mind was in a fog and my gut was in constant turmoil as well. On a keto/carnivore diet my mind and my insides are at their best. Dropping extra weight, having more energy and not being constantly hungry are just an added bonus🙂

      Cannot agree with the argument that superfoods are not valuable to add to the diet.
      Certainly, the cheapest option for detoxification is fasting - to eat nothing. Yet, to add during re-feeding superfoods that we obtain from animals; this is to our benefit?
      Encouraging people to move over to a meat based diet, is also going to enrich those who produce animal products; in fact the carnivor type diet is impossible to follow for those who are poor?
      Became myself richer in knowing how to add fermented vegetables to my diet (make them myself - for next to nothing, designed my own label, and use them as gifts).
      There are many natural foods (example cacau, raw honey, molasses, etc. etc.) with health benefits; also bitter herbs and a little wine (as prescribed in Scripture).
      Many medications - including some to address cancer - are produced from plant matter. Phytotherapists help the body to heal by adding natural substances. With better health as result: Are we not richer?

    So, I was recently made aware of how the term 'sugary' is often translated by the nutritional illiterate to literally mean white table sugar not all carbs, fructose, glucose etc. Ugh. Older generations understand "starchy" better and understand it to mean both sugar and starchy veggies crackers etc. It was a huge revelation for me while helping someone who thought Orange Soda was equivalent to fresh whole oranges. Something to think about I guess.

    Low carb, high fat saved my life. I was getting so sick, tired all the time ai could hardly drag myself around. Was on a high carb, low fat diet.
    Within one month of low carb I was great and have stayed that way. I regularly do intermittent fasting. So easy to do when you are keto adapted.
    I love raw fish such as salmon and tuna. Also oysters. I marinate white fish in lemon juice and add olives, olive oil, avocados, and spring onions. Incredibly delicious!
    On another note I am very concerned about this trend towards veganism. Also a lot of talk now about taxing meat! Never any talk about taxing sugar and all the refined white rubbish. Are they deliberately trying to kill people! Meat is such densely rich food and you don’t need very much. Especially with a fatty cut.

      @The Killjoy evidence for climate lie? Google here:1. how much carbon is locked in limestone (made from shells,an orgaincly formed material,calcium bicarbonate) compared to other fossil deposits? This stuff is part of the slow carbon cycle. 2. (ask a geologist)What was the CO2 content during most of the world's history, and why didn't this cause disaster, rather than life thriving at ridiculous rates(mega fauna and flora)?
      (By the way, they say the sun wasn't as active all those millions of years, so, if it is now, that means the sun is doing it. But then they claim the sun has little to do with it. As has the earths orbital change cycles. It's a paradox? Hardly!) Now everyone come to their own conclusions....

      Agree to an extent. As MD Jason Fung advises: Move between regular fasting and feeding states; this coaches the body to be able to be in ketosis as well as to be able to burn carbohydrates/sugars. (Darren Schmidt D.C. also makes a good case for this practice in order to prevent moving in the direction of the diseased toxic state of lactic acidosis).
      However, according to Weston Price principles: Prudently also stay mostly away from refined, processed foods with toxic additives. Do not go low fat, and do include some animal- and fermented foods. Try to stick to locally produced whole foods (not foodlike substances; your body does not know what to do with those). EAT REAL FOOD. Also keep in mind that one diet for all, is not the answer.
      MD Nicholas Gonzales RIP for example developed more than 10 different diets and individual supplementation according to genetic disposition and autonomous nervous system dominance. In order to assist the body to heal from cancer, his regime also included digestive enzymes between meals (to break down the cancer), and regular coffee enemas to upregulate the liver's detoxification function.

    This presentation is missing a key element: meat raised in CAFO's on GMO high-grain feeds, "pesticided" forage, pharmaceutical supplements, and of course numerous antibiotics is no more healthy than a corn tortilla or snickers bar. I do keto/IF, but try to utilize wild seafood more than beef (can't get organic pasture-raised) where I live in Alaska); also no pork, no chicken for same reasons. No diet will be healthy unless the components of that diet are raised/grown from quality soils, clean water and fresh air. Most agriculture in the US fails to meet any of these criteria - thus we consume not nourishing food, but poisonous toxins.

    • @kassandra344
      @kassandra344 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Totally agree with you. Imp, it's not the consumption of meat that is wrong but the way the animals are raised and killed. There is no respect for the animals or the enviroment. Grazing animals need to do just that, graze. Managed the correct way this regenerates grassland which regenerates the entire eco system.

    • @dnalsinamon3137

    • @dnalsinamon3137
      @dnalsinamon3137 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Correct! CAFO's make no sense. Take grazing animals and lock them in a pen. Then spend countless man hours and millions of gallons of fossil fuels ripping up the grazing lands, planting monocrops, spraying pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizer to make the monocrop grow, all while killing the soil, the wildlife above and below the soil, poisoning the ground water, ect. Then hauling the crop to the grazing animals, feeding them antibiotics to try and keep them healthy and hauling their waste away. We need to convert most croplands to pastures and get back to small family farms.

    I am not a vegetarian or vegan but my grandmother taught me to soak legumes and discard the soaking water and to cook them thoroughly to remove the antinutrients. My biology prof for a specialized plant-animal interaction course reiterated the same thing. This is important for people who cannot afford a lot of animal protein, for example many working class people in North America. Similarly, old fashioned long fermentation of grains and the use of sourdoughs as leavening before baking bread reduces plant antinutrient compounds.

      There's so much evidence of this. Like Folic Acid (K1) which binds to receptors, before it can be converted to K3, then to K2 (5methylfolate) which is actually usable, before the K2 has a chance to be absorbed.

It was by choice and I have suffered such horrific joint pain as well as my anxiety and depression has skyrocketed! I had no fat no oil and I walked 5 to 10 miles per day.. I was suicidal and had ZERO ENERGY in the 5th mi th.. I am now back on a high fat low protein diet and the last 2 days have been a night and day difference in my Mental health and my joints and pain are getting much much better..

    so many factors at play... science usually isolates and explores one cause and effect, which is interesting, but it may not be helpful in solving a complex problem.. for example, we know that love relations also influence insulin, cortisol and oxytocin levels... even influences gene expression and neural stem cell... outside the west, diagnosis includes the person's whole life,not just including diet, but how well they sleep, chronic stress, family relations/love, etc. this allows for solutions that support, much less side effects...

      How true... Oxitosin - the love hormone - it also supports healing - for example contributes to closing the gaps between enterosites in a leaky gut.
      Believe young people today more often than not have so much psychological problems because of broken homes with absent fathers; also since proper bonding never occurred during the first few years of their lives with their - working outside the home - mothers. Women are far more depressed and prone to whatever diseased state, because they have so few children, and for the few they do have, they have too little time.

    Been eating a primarily animal foods based diet getting about 85-90% of my caloric intake from the fattiest cuts of meat I can find (beef mostly). The other 10-15% comes from vegetables like onions and bell peppers that I saute in grass fed butter (yes butter) to spice up the meat a bit. Been doing this about 4 months and I can't remember ever feeling this good, both physically and psychologically.
    My advice to anyone who may be reading this is to just flat out forget about mainstream nutritution "science." At best its misguided, at worst an organized sham with a hidden agenda.

A neurologist in the Portland OR area has described an epidemic of children presenting with neurological symptoms and sleep studies showing they are getting very little REM. WiFi, radio device (including TV) radiation is non-ionizing which means it cannot cause cancer. So that's nonsense. GMO's are not so bad IMHO (at least I haven't found any serious research against it, only insults from vegetarians/vegans) with the exception that the seed producing companies make them proprietary (sterile). Gut microbiome is the shit in recent times but to link it with radiation is a long shot, don't you think? :D Definitely the probiotics change depending on what you eat. And some studies have shown that they influence your decision making process (i.e. make you a zombie for sugar). So far it seems that most health issues of the 21st century arose from bad diet practices which were fueled by greed of many influental business and political folks.

Grains were cheap and can be stored for long periods of time, and they were poor. They ate meat, dairy products, eggs and vegetables and occasionally if they could find it fish. But mostly they survived on grains. So after studying the effects of carbs on the human system it’s not surprising they all were diabetic. If you see documentaries such as Food evolution, What the health, hungry for change, that sugar film etc, a lot of them only talks about excluding animal based product from our daily diet.
    Plant foods contain absolutely no DHA ,
    "DHA plays a unique and indispensable role in the neural signaling essential for higher e=intelligence " said by Simon dyall PhD, bournemouth University
    B12, vitamin K2(MK-4), EPA and DHA they are not to be found in plant based diet.

    • @NutsinBrazil
      @NutsinBrazil 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Edward Peeters Edward Peeters so much misinformation.
      B12 is made by bacteria, but who is eating bacteria to supplement their diet?
      Your comment is dismissive, as if humans don't need external sources of B12 because it's made by bacteria.
      We do. It's an essential nutrient.
      Natto (fermented soy) might be the best source of K2, but most people can't stomach the stuff, that is readily available on grass fed ghee.
      You would need a huge amount of algae to get the ADH you need. Same goes for iron: one needs to eat a mountain of green leaves with olive oil to absorb a significant amount of iron, that you could get from one slice of liver.
      What compounds the harmful effects of veganism is that the majority are teenagers, in their formative years, who just feel their heart hurt for the cute cow. They have no idea how these dietary deficiencies will harm their bodies in the long run and they don't understand enough of nutrition to properly supplement.
      Dismissive attitudes like yours is truly dangerous as young folks think they can be healthy on this diet and don't understand the profound long lasting health problems that can come from nutritional deficit.

    • @13gladiusToKnot
      @13gladiusToKnot 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Edward Peeters. Typically ignoRANT lying veganist propaganda. Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin) is a complex cobalt-based organic compound that is produced naturally only by bacteria, ...
      K2 from Natto but not only does Natto taste(n smell) like crap, it's missing the saturated fat needed for better K2 assimilation.
      DHA containing fish eat zooplankton (not plants) from which their bodies produce DHA. Algae sourced vegan DHA (not available 'til recent times) is low quality. ALA to EPA conversion is inefficient.
      Cooking eliminates Lectins? If that were true peanut butter would *not* be an allergen problem bcz the peanuts are roasted

    • @Lennythewinner

      And I can add that (if I understand correctly) roasting nuts, peanuts (a legume not a true nut) generates acrylamide, a substance not renowned for its healthfulness. Phytate is a genuine problem, and binds with zinc, calcium and iron to generate an utterly unabsorbable complex. So much for the likes of e.g. tahini being 'good for you'.

Less than one gram of carb per serving. One serving per day is usually sufficient. Here in the US, I've only found one company (Lindt) that does this, but there may well be others.

    Very interesting. Thank you. Explains some questions I've been pondering. A talk about this new "keto" diet would be welcome.

    Yes, diet is a huge factor, maybe primary even, in explaining why there is a notable increase in mental health issues around the globe. But it may also coincide with the increased addiction to mobile devices that have been proven to increase anxiety, depression and suicide. She didn't touch on that AT ALL in her lecture. I believe declining global mental health is complex, not just diet related.

      Nice try, but that utterly fails. Many people have come home from work and done nothing but sit in front of the TV for decades and did little else.

      Word, the permanent availability due to cell phones since the 60s, never bothered me.
      And that Instagram account I run since 1967? Pure joy :)

    Diet in India has been plant based for Millenia. However, heart disease is rampant since introduction of cheap vegetable oil replacing the traditional gee, clarified butter.

    Danke für diesen hochinteressanten Vortrag! Genauso war es bei mir; vegane Ernährung und ein bischen auch meine Mutter haben mich sehr krank gemacht. Jetzt bin ich Carnitarier und GESUND!!!
