You are 100% correct. The thing that kept striking me though was how it must have SMELLED back in its day. The thought that all of the courtiers would just pee and defecate in the halls and corridors of such a beautiful place is just wild. It’s sad that some of our cities are becoming the same with trash and human waste, but Versailles had a more striking juxtaposition to
Me. ❤

He actually wasn't bad looking, at least for the times and at least as a young man. Many of his contemporaries visiting from outside France remarked on his attractiveness and they had no benefit to hyping him up.
It was believed he was short and wore heels, so the massive ego, sun god bs was probably a case of short man syndrome 😂😂
