Traditional Indian Village Stone Grinders Ammikal Attukal Thirugai Sil Batta Metate Mortar & Pestle | For Spices Masala Herbs Flour Mill | Table Bench Top Batan. Somehow in the past 30+ years, these stone grinders have disappeared and we chose to use electric machine grinders over the traditional methods of grinding using Stone Grinders. Grocerybee is happy to bring back ancient traditional methods of grinding using Natural Stone Grinders.
Grind your mouth-watering chilies and spices with your very own Ammikal Attukal Thirugai Sil Batta Metate Mortar & Pestle stone grinders.
Ammikal Sil Batta Rectangular in shape, two stone grinder, the stone grinder comes with an attached cylindrical handle to furnish you with a natural grinding experience.
Attukal Aatukal is used to make wet spices, dry spices, and mainly used to make Idli Dosa Batters, Vada Batters.
Thirugai is mainly used as a hand stone flour Mill.
The stone flour hand mill has multiple benefits. This is because the flour churned on a stone chakki is much better and more delicious compared to the one processed using machines.
Designed from natural stone, the chakki prepared flour is a health booster for people. The flour made on its stone carved top has higher fiber content, suitable for individuals,
young and old. It offers a spacious and large comfortable plate-like structure to grind your edibles. Marble gray in color with small white polka dots, the grinder has smooth edges, and a rugged grinding surface to add convenience to your grinding.
    Benefits of Organic Stone Grinders:
    1) Stone Grinding has multiple health Benefits compared to steel grinding, though it is a slow process.
    2) The slow massaging process in stone grinding completely breaks down the grinding particles and cell walls at lower temperatures, bringing out the complete nutrition of the product as it is consumed.
    3) Higher temperature grinding destroys sensitive healthy minerals and vitamins and also results in oxidation and rancidity which further reduces quality and product shelf life.
    4) Stone grinding gives an end product that retains the natural aroma, original proportions of the spices, seeds, and grains being ground.
    5) Grinding using stone grinding extracts the natural oils and distributes them evenly throughout the product, producing a smooth and creamy end product.
    6) Stone Grinders Ammikal Sil Batta Aattukal Attukal Thirugai also provides good exercise to hands, waists, and wrists.
You can avail these Stone Grinder kitchen products at our online store www.grocerybee.com.au and we deliver across Australia including regional postcodes and suburbs. Product links are

Women don't need to be shackled to housechore to stay fit and healthy. What you are saying is not science based.. we need to interpret these in right context. And these household chores shouldn't be confined to just women folk and girls but also to men, they should help out with these chores. Please let's not tie work loads to just one gender nor should we categorize work to certain genders

Cold pressed everything is better for health. Heating diminishes the nutritional value of the food. The machine mixers and grinders heats up the food, albeit slightly. However nothing beats arms with no batwings, right?

Have you seasoned the grinder well; at first you can grind some dry rice as it removes all lint, then pour rice water and keep for a while, repeat this for 3 days, the stone will become dust free and ready to use.

When I lived in Tamilnadu almost forty five years ago, my Housekeeper used the large stone mortar and pestle, which I believe you call the AMMIKAL. I remember she told me it was named the ARTARAL because the stone danced as it ground the rice to make dosa and idli. Is that correct. I am searching for the correct word for a Novel I am writing that takes place in Madurai. If you could correct me, I would be very thankful.

To grind thick and stronger grains, better to buy a minimum 14inch Thirugai or upwards. Because to grind strong grains like wheat and rice, stone must be heavy to apply more pressure. It can grind fine however we can't compare the machine grade super fine grinding. Thank you
