Such a classic, I've been addicted to it lately not to mention that it was the birth of a video gaming star
lol i play modern games you should try them, but you might get confused bc your old.
I play both very old and modern videogames. The Donkey Kong NES game is one of my most liked games.
Wow, OG cab of DK looks so clean and stylish and the cigarette burned 2P button makes it perfect. It's amazing that the monitor and boards are still working after all that time
When you play it you just can't keep your hands off the joystick this game is amazing
I remember when this game first hit the arcade! I dropped lots quarters into that thing!
Thumbs up! Donkey Kong is my favorite arcade coin-op game of all time. Excellent cab man.
Thanks man! We always say they look like giant Christmas Tree ornaments!
My favorite game is pac-land on the tg16
Donkey Kong is in my top 10 when it comes to arcade coin-op games :-)
3:57 Jumpman looks like he’s determined.☺️I can’t blame him, he’s gotta save lady Pauline.
8 bit classic
They had 8k chips, I think 8 of them
Back when they knew how to program
Amazing that they did all this in such a small amount of memory
Great picture
Thanks ocsrc, yes I'm often impressed by how they made so much with so little. They tried to be smart about it and make sure that the game was fun.....
My favorites i love original video games
best game evermade it paved marios gamingcareer
Yup it's definitely great!
True classic..
One of the absolute best!
Only gripe I have is that it's upside down 👇🙃👇
In the UK we had plenty of bootleg crazy kongs in arcades which to be honest had better sounds. I've got this cabinet and although it's great to have the original i really want to put the crazy Kong board in mine.
damn this nostalgia, i have a NES system that has this game and i havent played it in like 4 years
Time to whip it out and play it again!
@@LyonsArcade the nes did a pretty good job with their port. Until they got lazy and decided to skip the pie factory. Even though they had enough memory. Woulda been fantastic
Yeah play it again!! :D
The birth of Mario🇮🇹
IS NOT MARIO, THAT'S JUMPMAN!!!!!😡🤣
@@mariegagnon3835 Jumpman is Mario
Also the births of Donkey Kong and Pauline!
@@mariegagnon3835yes it is.

You can stick a straw on the upper right hinge of the coin door and slide it up and down to get free credits.
Particle board cabinets were made in USA. Plywood Cabinets were made in Japan. The particle board cabinets only had 2 bolts on the sides. where the plywood cabinets had the 2 bolts plus the 3 diagonal ones
Yessss that is correct, thank you J P!
@@LyonsArcade you know it was interesting I don’t believe they ever built the dedicated Mario Bros cabinet in the USA as they were all plywood but Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr Popeye had both variations of plywood and particle board cabinets . The only downside to the plywood cabinets was the T molding was offset and flat where replacement T molding for the particle board had a crown and was readily available. The T molding also was looser in the particle board . I could never find the exact t molding for my Mario Bros cabinet
De vrai bijoux sa c'est la classe et la bonne époque.
I've been looking for one of those for years, but I don't have very much room for it
It's an awesome machine, maybe you could stick one in the dining room, hmmmm????
nice
JON'S ARCADE HAS THAT ARCADE GAME!!
Jon's the man!
YEP!!
Pauline was never a princess, but she was Mario's girlfriend at the time :-) she is still present in some Mario games like Super Mario Odyssey. She does singing and she is now a mayor.
A bar about an hour from me has a red Donkey Kong. That’s the only red Donkey Kong that I know I’ve seen.
It’s on like Donkey Kong
There is a bug/error/hidden cheat in screen 1, on the bottom level go up the ladder to the second level take one step to the right then jump right off the end and kong will bounce off the edge and drop through the bottom of the screen and the screen will finish as if you had climbed to the top. Not sure if its version specific but I saw someone do it once and have managed to do it myself
Donkey Kong arcade video game 40th Anniversary since 1981 (Nintendo of America).
The iPhone ringtone got me.
Can you put all of the donkey kong games in one classic cabinet?
You can but it's pretty hard to do clean. Most people that do that use an emulator board, but you can actually run all three original PCB's in one cabinet with a switcher. Lots of wiring though.
I completed donkey Kong once but it is on the nes
You can't 'complete' donkey kong
@@smarkthinking4914 yes you can. At least on the arcade machine. Called the kill screen. It's not a true ending (like say gun.smoke or wonderboy) but it is an ending nonetheless. Very difficult to achieve. Not even sure how many levels you have to go thru to get there. Somewhere around 118?
I liked the Mario Bros. It was cool...!!
Definitely!
Donkey Kong looks too cutesy in the cabinet art. He's literally picking his nose at 3:47. I'm glad in the game itself he looks meaner.
How did you get that?! I’ve been searching for that for 13 months
This was back in the day when they were a little easier to get, now all the barcades have bought them and they're harder to find.
You keep mentioning it being an original cabinet, but is the monitor and the motherboard original? (Later on in the video you answered my question.)
Yup, all the original stuff!
Where did you buy the sideart from?
Must have the difficulty turned up on this cab. I see lots of "wild" barrels coming from kong.
It may have been....
@@LyonsArcade that's a nice store you have there. You guys move a lot of cabinets? I will have to check out your website. I live near Chicago and visit an arcade called the galloping ghost. It's nuts, there's like 750 titles. You guys ever get any gun.smoke cabinets coming thru there? Love that game.
Am I the only one how remembers it as: How high can you try?
There is a version of the japanese romset that does indeed say "how high can you try". It was changed in the US version.
I played that at the arcade last night but the screen was a little out of color
A lot of the older CRT's are starting to show trouble the last few years....
I WISH I COULD PLAY THE GAME USING THE ARCADE MACHINE!!! I HAVE PLAYED THE GAME ON AN ARCADE EMULATOR AND A NES EMULATOR ON THE PC BUT THAT IS NOT HOW IT WAS ORIGINALLY PLAYED :-)
I like Donkey Kong donkey Kong junior & mario bros arcade cabinet
Its as old as me. 1981
Eventrough the idea of calling jumpman mario in the west was yet just an idea,it was not yet official as those instructions on those donkeykong kabinets do say jumpman, for what i do understand is that jumpman was officially called mario in 1982 during the release of DKjr i suppose!!??
I'm a pretty good donkey Kong player
Very cool!
Just letting everyone know that there's a Donkey Kong killscreen coming up if you're interested
Wow it's not even dented!!!!
Awesome game but its up the wrong end 🙃
13:05 No. I am the best ever in this game
Kermitstacker1927 since we turned it on 10 minutes ago!!!!!!!
i have born 1981 :)
It is supposed to have 4 courses
You aren't familiar with the arcade version which is the original. Please stop.
It does.
This was The US Cabinet, it only has 1 level added when the game ends goes from the elevator level to the barrel level in 04, you unlock the barrel level in 03 you get the pie factory.
The reason why mario is called jumpman: Nintendo does not know what his name is.
It's good, however, still to be seeing the original Donkey Kong up and running again. 🏃♂️ 🏃
I won every level i dont lose🎉
Is it the original or the pauline variant?!?!
Good question!
Wasn't Pauline in the original variant, except she was called Lady?
Zonnie I meant the version where "lady" is playable
@@HelpMeIAmHalfAsleep Tell me about it, I've never heard of that one. Is it a hack?
I thought pac man was the king of the arcade
Nintendo always beats "Namco" bro. King of Kong and all
I guess it is
after all, Mario is the arcade idol
It comes down to either Pac-Man or Donkey Kong I guess...
the speaker hole is CREEPYYYYYYUBUBUBUBBUUBUBUBUBUBUBUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHH
Can you sell for me the donkey Kong arcade?
Please stop calling Mario jump man when you play donkey Kong OMG
They were just "Jumpman" and "the lady" back then...
You know that the game wasn’t made now😂😂😂
😎 could I buy this from you, I'll give 50$ for it
dude, have you even checked the prices of authentic arcade cabinets? you will need a hefty amount of 50s to buy one of these
especially with the original motherboard and machinery working in basically mint condition.
