  • This is a four wheel drive mobile learning arduino kit designed for hobbyists and students. It includes four coreless 12V DC motors with encoders, arduino microcontroller and I/O expansion on board, it is programmable with the open soure Arduino language. Its chassis is made of Aluminum-alloy and it has pre-drilled holes for microcontroller.

This Mecanum wheel mobile Arduino robotics car can be made to move in any direction and turn by varying the direction and speed of each wheel. Moving all four wheels in the same direction causes forward/backward movement, running left/right sides in opposite directions causes rotation, and running front and rear in opposite directions causes sideways movement. The platform rear wheels are mounted in a particular way, so that the suspension structure ensures that all four wheels can adhere to the ground, even when the ground is uneven.

    Features:
    4 wheel drive
    Mecanum Wheels
    Aluminum alloy body
    Easy to assemble
    DC motors with encoders
Suspension structure ensure roadgripping of each wheel
Includes Arduino Microcontroller and I/O expansion board
Capable of moving forward, backward, sideway , rotation.
    Programmable with C, C++
    Specification:
    Length: 300mm
    Width: 215mm
    Height: 100mm
    Net Weight: 3.8kg
    Wheel Diameter: 100mm
    Wheel Thickness: 51mm
Wheel Material: Aluminum with Rubber Rollers
    Chassis Material: Aluminum
    Color: Silver
    Speed: 0.6 m/s
    Climbing Capacity: 30 degree incline
Controller: Arduino ATMega328P, IO Expansion Board
    Mini-ITX Compatible: No
    What's in the Box:
    4 x 100mm Aluminum Mecanum wheels
    4 x 12V DC coreless motors
    Arduino 328 controller
    Arduino IO expansion V1.1

how would they handle on a larger vehicle when it comes to suspension or road traction? could they handle being on icy or wet roads with a reduced, or at least equal, risk to hydroplaning?

+Retlaw1995 due to the small wheels on them, you cant put a lot of initial torque into the mechanums

That is great. Is it possible to remotely control it using Adafruit Motor Shield of arduino?

It seems like there would be way too much friction in a large scale version of this

+Rocky Ho it's used in fork lifts already

Sidewalkchalker87 what? Wow. I'm going to look this up. Ive driven so many hours on a fork lift. Wish they had this for me

yep. especially during those movements when some of the gears do not move at all.

    • @BFArch0n
      @BFArch0n 9 ปีที่แล้ว

+Rocky Ho The wheels are comprised of many smaller rotational parts, so I am thinking friction wouldn't be an issue. (the rubber is not being dragged, the rubber is rotating freely like a car in neutral)

+Sidewalkchalker87 I looked that company up. It looks like Airtrax ran out of money and went out of business. No more omnidirectional forklifts. :-( The world won't see such a vehicle on the commercial market. At least not until the patents run out.

Never seen such wheels before. What would be their resistance if used for normal cars that runs on considerable speed?

    • @TherealRaust

+Zekromite Metalworks (Afya Anmar Asra) Depends on the weight of the vehicle and the material of the wheels and the surface.

uncertainty principle it's possible, you just need to figure out the math to transform the desired velocity into each wheel's speed
