I watched video's (1 & 2) both of them were very helpful, I'm going to the home Depot tomorrow to get what I need to save my Banana trees!! ❤❤❤ Thank you for posting step by step!
I cut mine back and mulched. Now that is April I have 2 pups that have sprouted but my big stock is still brown.i paid $60 for my tree. Do I need to trim it or anything or what should I do?
What zone do you live in? If you have uncovered it then you will need to protect it if the weather gets cold. You can cut the brown as long as the root is still alive it will bounce back
Thanks for making pt2. Kindly you should know, a lot of people probably aren't finding this vid, this was not easy to find after watching part one. I searched your channel for bannana, bananna even the word ban and wow you'd think "ban" would show some results, tho no results! tried the word tree and here we are... I was past ready to give up this quest to see if you had success because I was thinking i scanned all your videos without finding it... adding this vid link to the part 1 description would help others w this question/process on winterizing bananna trees, just saying, w exponential respect
We did top it off as the leaves settled. Fortunately we have plenty leaves to do that. A friend of mine puts his leaves in a trash bag then puts that over all of the loose leaves and that works well for him
@@gardeningwithme7690 I actually work in a park in NJ so we have no shortage of leaves! We might try your technique because we are tired of hauling these huge things indoors every fall. Thanks for the video and reply! Trash bag can definitely work, but the leaves need to be dry to avoid mold. How short did you cut the stump, like 5 inches?

Your welcome
Love videos with Tony!
Awesome! Did you tarp over your mulch pile also to keep rain and snow out? Or just left it after mulching with leaves?
We did not tarp but a friend of mine does. It’s prob a good idea
@@gardeningwithme7690 awesome. Thanks for reply!

Wow. Thank you
what temperature outside did you use uncovered it?
We wait until all danger of frost has passed. That’s mid May for us
What kind of banana tree is it?
What species of Banana is that?
I really don’t know. I’ll see if I can find out I bought it a while ago
Did you need to pile more shredded leaves on top as it grew? Or did they break down and cover it well enough?
We did top it off as the leaves settled. Fortunately we have plenty leaves to do that. A friend of mine puts his leaves in a trash bag then puts that over all of the loose leaves and that works well for him
