    Thank you! I viewed a tutorial by some "professionals" and yours was the only one that showed where the wire actually connected! Got it done on the first try. Can't thank you enough.

    Thank you for this. I was forever trying to figure out where the lid latch release was in the front of my washing machine… I didn’t realize there were clips on the back.

    So you were washing clothes then it wouldn’t attempt to lock? Mine was in the middle of a cycle and it wouldn’t engage to lock? What do you think?

    This may or may not work, but I cleaned the magnetic area (especially the crevices) on the machine and and lid.
    Also spoke to a Whirlpool rep who informed me that most appliances are only built to last about ten years. Therefore, if you used your machine on a regular basis for over 10 years, you may want to consider buying a new appliance if these DIY fixes don’t work.

    I want to get a second opinion, I had the same issue with my whirlpool cabrio, sorry I don't have the model #, but the repair guy told me the relay burned out and the computer had to be replaced. Have you heard of this happening with the these models? The washer is about 5 yrs old.

    hell, I cannot find the model number on any of the sites, i can go above it and below it but none that are exact to the number. I replaced the lid lock magnet and examined the point lock system and it works on one load and then will not work again. I take it apart and fool with it and it works again. It seems to be the electrical part, not the magnetic plastic lock arm.

    does anyone have a video of the w10619844 opened up? there is a metal tab that I cannot figure out where it goes

    Quick troubleshooting for Whirlpool Cabrio wtw6200vwo .
    OPTION 1 - If the machine is making a clicking sound, PARTIALLY slide out the locking tab. Make sure there are no obstructions (including dust or detergent) preventing the tab from functioning. Do not completely pull out the tab. The machine will likely continue the cycle.
    BYPASS OPTION - There is no need to unscrew the back or remove the control panel. The lid should have a plastic panel. Unscrew the two screws on the lid. Place the panel over the lid lock. This may work with two strong magnets place on each side of the lid lock.
    In both cases the machine is dependent on the magnets. The electronic mechanism that recognizes the magnets usually wears out. Once the machine recognizes the magnets, it will likely operate.

      What shape of a magnet I need to use square kind ND where to put it at the top of the lid sensor

    • @GMAMEC
      @GMAMEC 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tricehughes3093 a strong magnet that that covers the lid lock tab will work. However, the bypass option is a two minute fix. It’s just two screws on the side of the lid. Place the lid panel (the panel has a magnet) on top of the machine when you start your laundry and close the lid. The problem is that the small magnetic lid lock tab isn’t connecting to the magnet. The lid lock is on the machine where you open and close the lid. It is rectangular and approx. 1” wide and less than 1/2” tall.

    There are thousands of videos and posts about these latches yet Whirlpool doesn’t warranty them out or phase it out. It’s ridiculous. I don’t have the money or ability to do this.
