This looks like it is going to be great. I love the fact that, unlike Werner Herzog's Nosferatu: The Vampyre film, Eggers is going to call the characters by the names given to them by Murnau. It's fascinating how Nosferatu was more or less an unauthorized adaptation of Stoker's Dracula by Murnau, but it became its own creation: its own thing. I don't think the Graf von Orlok as the same as Dracula. He is as much Dracula as Dracula is Vlad Tepes. But I think it would be amazing to not only rewatch Murnau's Nosferatu, and Herzog's version, but also E. Elias Merhige's Shadow of the Vampire: a meta-adaptation that is really cool -- and Willen Dafoe is the vampire in it, while in Eggers' film he is the Abraham Van Helsing analogue Prof. Albin Eberhart Von Franz. Hopefully he will be more effective than the Bulwer in Murnau's version, and the Van Helsing in Herzog's.
Honestly, I would pair Shadow of the Vampire with M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable as not only were they both made in 2000, but they delve into art and heroes and monsters. And the commentary track for Shadow of the Vampire really breaks a lot of elements into the fore too. I love vampire films. I write on a few of them every once and a while, and it is always a mythos to enjoy delving. I look forward to your review when the film comes out in winter, and I look forward to seeing it too.
Thank you for the lore! One of the things i love about reacting to trailers of stuff i know nothing about is the fans always come out in droves to help me understand the thing that they love. I got some movie homework so anything you think i should watch please let me know!
Nosferatu 1979 was the first remake and the movie Shadow of the Vampire 2000 is also related

@@MRVLBROs it’s really hard in this days to make a little research about the original movie and all. That’s the problem of today “content creators”, just don’t care to give informative opinions. F it. Just here for the likes and views.
