Great engineering and well thought out design that is superior in many aspects to the off shelf units. Everything is done well. You should be selling the plans to this mill.
Nice job. I built one too. I have cut a mountain of lumber with mine and it looks like you get a lot of use with yours. Also love the old 2 bottom plow in the background. I have a couple of them and I do still use them.
would be interested in seeing a video on the drive section of the mill. I got its cable driven, and you crank it but how is it set up. Also having everything on a say hip mounted remote would be a really nice feature, you have the up down on a remote if you could some how also do the same for the foward/backward of the head of the mill. So if you were running it alone you could save time getting around to off load or move clamps etc, instead of being tied to the head walking it back an forth.
nice job fellow michigander plan on making something like that but will be using a bar and chain instead. no i'm not a yooper but a troll live less than twenty miles from the bridge but thats still better than living anyplace else in this country and i have lived in enough different places to know we ain't perfect but northern michigan and the u.p sure are again good job on the mill
Yooper Ingenuity, eh? Great design, much safer then many of the home made band saws I've seen. I'm a Yooper by blood, but born in IN... have family all over the western UP. I've been coast to coast in our great country but the UP is truly God's Country! What do y'all do with the timber? Sell? Woodworking, construction?
Nice setup. How long did it take to build this band mill? I was raised on a circle mill in southern Missouri. Now living in PA. Would love to build something like that. Good work

3:44. Troll train.
Good job on your mill!
A very effective sawmill for little investment. Like that it is portable.

Right now we are stock piling for construction and woodworking projects, but my husband does intend to sell excess at some point.

It took more time getting parts than it did to put it together. I probably have 50 to 60 hours in it.
Great job. What's your bearing number on the blade guides Thanks
Awsome!
how much does the log bed flex if you drop a heavy log onto it.
Why is it that train always come by when you're on the phone or shooting a video? Always. Murphy's Law.
You need to wear hearing protection.
