    Streamers do say there is no other PVP action game such as NW at the moment. I totally agree. And exactly as you said -- NW has a beautiful world in place, relatively unique action type. They need to focus on content. Both PVE and PVP (I am a hardcore PVPer since day 1 release). No major OPR change so far really bothers

      How there aren't already several OPR maps to rotate between I don't know, it seems like such an easy win to me.

    As an Old player that came back to give it a second chance and quit again. My complaints are the absolutely insane amount raw mats to craft. The endless gathering simulator for simply daily income to cover the outrageous costs of needed items in the game. The endless dark matter farm. the game is just endless farming of one sort or another. There is a reason that it is estimated that 90% of players have bought gold. its dumb and deserves to die.

      @ItsGlaive  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think somewhere along the line the game took the stance that crafting = economy like it does in a sandbox game, not realising most people come to MMOs for the themepark side of things. Sadly I'm in the same boat in that decent gear is just too costly (time and gold) to craft.

    Great Video! =D I feel the exact same. It is so sad to see that they moved in the wrong direction again. As you said we need more and better Content. After seeing the Roadmap till May I quit the game. I played 2K+ hours since release and the moral, or hope, is below 0 for me now. 8 Artifacts and Control Support till May? That is how you kill an MMO...

      Exactly what I feel =) I love this game so much that it just hurts the more I see how it trips over small unnecessary things that could be fixed with the right strategy. Thanks for voicing some positivity for New World!
    I think it’s a miracle that AGS stuck around fixing the game rather than abandoning it. Perhaps this combat recoding will be the final remedy for the rushed launch that will allow the devs to focus on creating future content.

    One thing I think you're missing is that AGS set player expectations high for content in 2023. If you watch the roadmap videos from just before you joined (end of 2022, and start of 2023), Katy and Scot really made it sound like players would be blown away with just how much bigger the game world would be (and what you could do in it) by the end of 2023. In those vids, its clear that AGS believed their content goals were achievable, so something significant must have happened given how underwhelming the xpac turned out to be. I mean, they couldn't even finish the MSQ, which they've been working on for 2 years. The fact that they have gone back to rework the core combat system, to me suggests, they may have come up against some pretty deep and fundamental flaws in their core systems. One possibility is that AGS may put content on the back burner for NW, while they build capacity and fine tune their production processes for the LotR MM, as they realize they are still a year or more away from being able to develop content at scale quickly and efficiently.

    • @ItsGlaive

      That's a very good point, all signs point to Amazon Games not being properly resourced sadly, I've never stopped believing the NW team are busting their chops to make the game great and that they give it 110%, I just don't think they've been given the resources they need to get the job done yet.

    Tbh I think some of the war logger community that gate keeps wars and make alts kinda ruin the player game and retention … think if Amazon nipped rmt in the but I do think this game could bounce back… no matter what ags does if they don’t fix the wars and war loggers people will continue to leave the game.. it’s not unspoken fact that some of the top company’s control the server on most servers and rmt the money.. it’s just time to get rid of territory control and just make wars for everyone..

    the poor reception from launch really staunched NW growth. no matter how many improvements or updates the devs make, there will still be the haters gatekeeping new players from trying the game.
    I do think it still needs a good bit more development before its really top tier. I mostly play it for pvp aspect. but more pvp content and more end game/fun social content will turn this game from good to great.

    Season 4 was a disappointment. Not only a lot of new bugs and crashes, but again, they introduced new artifacts and things that bring back the ghost of the past. OPR and Arenas are full of boltcaster players and rangers in light armor. In the last two days, I played arenas where I think the only melee was me. The other team was composed of boltcaster in light armor, kiting and doing more damage than melee players very easy. I think pvp players are desperately yelling to AGS that we don't want to play a counter strike mmo!!! We are done with the ranger meta and the light armor flee unpunished actions!!! Sadly, somehow AGS boosted this kind of meta again at levels of the past.

  • @MakkaggGetsOwned

    it's due to them not hjaving access to the major code seeing how they fired two sets of dev teams before launch, everything is just pieced together through backends hoping that it works and it causes bugs that takes forever to fix. QA is non existent because they dont have backend access to their own game

    • @ItsGlaive

      I'd imagine that any code written at that time remains the property of AGS but whether or not anyone is still there who knows the code is another thing. Ok the NW bashing has gone on since launch and the ones who do the bashing never offer a solution, but they continue to play the game when new content drops. I think the solution is for AGS to double down on the content that people play consistently which is PvP. NW’s PvP community are the real player base.

    • @ItsGlaive
      @ItsGlaive  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Content is 100% the answer! I've talked about that a lot in this video lol. The game needs much more PVP content for the PVP community but it also needs a LOT of PVE content adding, the reason numbers are so low is this lack of PVE content.

    • @OlyPhoenix86
      @OlyPhoenix86 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ItsGlaive The issue with PvE content is that they been producing it but as soon as it dry’s up the PvE player base moves on to the next game complaining that it wasn’t enough. A more precise solution is difficult PvE content that becomes a different experience every single time with a leader bored. If the content is too easy or just basic then it will be consumed then discarded. The biggest problem is the trinity system. The potency of sacred ground trivialized most if not all of the content. Second issue is the theory that a dungeons difficulty is gauged by enemy hit points and damage output. Mutators are cool but is just changes those aspects rather than creating anything really interesting. Difficulty should be gauged by mob density, elite types, and the need to prioritize specific targets during engagements. Whoever is the dungeon and quest designer in NW has got to be simple minded. I am a PvP player who also plays PvE. But the PvE content in this game is a snoozefest as well as just content that is gate kept by the need of a group with the trinity system. In order to get better more engaging PvE content isn’t to do more of the same but a change in fundamental philosophy about the design of the content. I’m not holding my breath nor have I been. Despite that the players I’ve seen stick around despite player number is the PvP player because PvP content generate its own unique experience through player drama. I hope everyone gets what they want in the end and I do want more but better engagement in PvE content not just another expedition that is a skin over.

  • @fpsking931
    @fpsking931 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It's not really much of surprise that NW can't keep people around. If you think about it the game is just a gear grind without purpose. There's nothing to do AFTER you get your BiS gear. OPR is terrible pretty much all the time. 9/10 matches are stomps and horribly unbalanced team-comp wise. Wars (the actual END game of New World) are basically exclusive for an extremely small sub-set of the population. Areans are fine, but aren't anything special and that's pretty much it.
    The premiere endgame for New World (war) needs to be more accessible to the vast majority. Need more ways to declare war and get to experience the content without getting farmed over and over by alt characters / companies. Remember when they did Fresh and every server had dozens of companies all interested in war. How many are still around? Next to none because the current war systems in place are awful at retaining players. Nobody wants to grind gear just get farmed over and over by the same players on every server. This game needs cross-server company vs company wars without territory being a factor.

    • @ItsGlaive
      @ItsGlaive  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      100% agree wars should be open to all, having them so closely tied to company profits forces companies to close them out to anyone other than the super skilled. I know many people, myself included, who've yet to even experience wars.

    • @fpsking931
      @fpsking931 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ItsGlaive Yup. I've gone through so many guilds with everyone quitting by the end because war content is so difficult to get regularly unless you want to get farmed over and over, but that'll just end up disbanding the company and people quitting anyways. Can only run so many dungeons after you get geared before it gets stale. Especially since most dungeons in this game are formulaic in design. PvP is what keeps people around long-term and it sucks AGS do nothing for it.

    To be fair mate ive played this since day 1 release, it is way better than what it was unfortunately the time gating rng drops and perk distribution was super aggressive compaired to now. sadly the timegating is still a thing but the profession tree is a major issue. its flat thers no choices no variation and no skill tree to invest in is just bland grinding. the other issue is the gear its so normalised i can enter opr with green gear and fight someone with gold and artifacts and kill them that should never happen , the game is too skill reliant there should be a way larger gap in gear based on quality not just GS,and skill.
    my next issue is overland content its almost the same size it was 2 years ago, exploration is super basic and 100% map completion is a few days at most it should easily be at least 1/3rd larger by now sadly its only 1/10th due to brimstone . Eso drops a few new areas and a new class, 3 new sets 2 dlcs per year and a few new dungeons every year. and its still considered a mismanaged game but due to the regular content drops its played .
    It just seems like there is really not much happening in NW and for a max GS player no real reason to continue for more than a few days every season .

      I'm sorry you feel like it's whining to point out flaws or suggest improvements - this video covers the good and the bad so I do hope you got far enough into it to actually see that. However I want this game to grow and so I'm going to keep suggesting where things could be better so that the numbers go up and stay up :)
