I used to take my guitar to a guitar technician. It never came back the way i like it. Guitar technician tells you a bunch of stuff like what strings to use. One time, i gave a guitar technician a set of my favorite strings, and he threw them in the trash and put some other strings that i hated. There is not a guitar technician on the planet that can set up my guitar the way i like it. I got tired of the BS. So i learned to do my own guitar setups. Now, all my guitars are exactly the way i like it. I had some bad experiences with guitar technicians. Never again. 🙋♂️
Bought my first stereo record player when I was 15 in 1975. I had saved my pocket money and bought a Technics turntable, amp and speakers. The salesman said I get a free album and to go pick one out. I chose Deep Purple's Stormbringer. Fast forward to 2008 and Deep Purple came to Australia on a tour. Saw my album come to life. Also gotta chuckle to myself. There are two more guys, in America, making guitars, called Chris and Matt, on TH-cam, but they're in Florida I believe.
Happy holidays, gentlemen. When I first started playing, I went to a guitar tech but soon realized he was ripping me off. Now I do it myself, in large part thanks to TTG, StewMac, and Highline.
My brother bought a ton of 8 track tapes in the 70's...I never understood why, the whole system of 8 track tapes and players absolutely sucked!! Big time! For me it was LP's and cassettes or nothing... (Slightly off topic...mid '70's found a small store that sold only cassette tapes for really low low prices! The cases (very cheap plastic) had no artwork etc. I bought Alice Cooper's School's Out!.. I didn't put it together until years later that the place was a pop up bootleg store!! It was only there a week or two 🤣.. I still have that tape!
Thank you, Matt, Chris and Joy for all you do to make guitar building fun and enjoyable. Happy New Year!
Oh, and Derringer Live on 8-track got loads of play in my home as a kid.
That was killer I had that one 🤘

My first cassette was Grand Funk's "We're An American Band" and first album was Aerosmith's "Rocks".

Happy holidays, gentlemen! First album I bought was Toto’s first album in 1978. Hold The Line is a rad song! 😎
I remember 8-track skips too, when I hear CDs. 😃
