  • This video covers installing a new Mach3 screen set for my plasma users.
    This screenset includes an awesome angle finder for your substrates.
    Here's a link to the designer of the screenset, and in the video description you can download the screenset. He doesn't speak English in his video's, but his projects are just as interesting to watch.

    great screen set!
    how do you set the position of the Parking function? I've never seen that in mach 3 plasma. Thanks!

    Hey Vince,
    A video Suggestion/Request..!(Sorry if you find it silly)
    Can You do a bare-bones basic tutorial video on Plasma CNC Working principles ?
    I searched a lot. But Not found a tutorial on this..!
    I have these very basic doubts..!(May be stupid.LOL)
    1) hooking up proper signal pins to the Controller and configure them to trigger the torch
    2)Where do We configure the torch When and how to Start the piercing and cutting?
    3)How the Controller/Software triggers the Torch to start and stop the Cut at the right spot
    4)Can We live without the complexities of a THC /Floating head mechanism assuming that We only cut Flat Metal Bars.No Height Adjustment Needed..!?
    4)Can We modify the CNC Router Profile in Mach3 to work as a Plasma Profile by tweaking the parameters of Z axis and the pins and ports?

      Thank you for your support. Many of the requests you requested I've done videos for. Please use the TH-cam search to find my Plasma videos. Thank you,
      Vince

    Can you do a video on machining cost calculation? I have plotted one in excel . But its very complicated. I have categorised costs as fixed type and activity wise type

      Thank you for your support. Please give me more details of what projects you're doing to sell, and where is your shop located in your home, or in a rented facility? I can't do a video unless I know these details.
      Thank you,
      Vince

      @@corvetteguy50 Hi Vince, Its an honor to have you in discussion..!!
      By the way, Is there any method to get the Total cumulative distance that all three Axis have to travel to complete one Gcode..? And Can it be used to determine the machining price for that product?
      The Machining rates will have to be different for
      a part completed by x and Y only in 30 minutes (A Basic part with Contour machining with some holes only)
      and
      a part completed by all x,y and z in 30 minutes(Relief model with varying heights)
      How Can we price this?
      You know I was thinking to Come Up with an Excel Template ;which enables the user to input his variables.
      I considered variables in this fashion
      (I dont Know whether this is an impractical or stupid idea or not, I think you can explain this much effectively )
      Example
      :Raw material : Wall Nut 5Cubic Inch*10USD per cubic Inch=
      :Tooling: End Mill: Price=50USD/(Divided by Number of Jobs Expected for the tool=10)=50/10=
      One Time Chargeable Cost: Shop Rent: 3000USD/30Days=100Usd Per Day(Charge Per Product If 10 Jobs Expected Per day=100/10=)
      Duration=2Hrs
      Cost:Electricity
      Rate Per KWH=5USD
      Equipment: Computer(1000W)
      Cost=1 Computer*1000W*2Hrs=2000WH/1000=2KWH
      2KWH*5Usd= Electricity Cost For Computer for CAD/CAM Activity Only
      (Remaining cost of electricity for Lighting,Ventilation ..etc for CAD/CAM Activity)
      Duration=1Hr
      Cost:Electricity
      Equipment=CNC
      Rate Per KWH=5USD
      Cost=1 CNC*10,000W*1Hrs=10000WH/1000=10KWH
      10KWH*5Usd= Electricity Cost For CNC for Machining Activity Only
      Duration=1Hr
      Cost:Electricity
      Rate Per KWH=5USD
      Equipment:Dust Collection(10,000W)
      Cost=1 Dust Collector*10,000W*1Hrs=10000WH/1000=10KWH
      10KWH*5Usd= Electricity Cost For Dust Collector for Machining Activity Only
      (Remaining cost of electricity for Lighting,Ventilation ..etc for Machining Activity)
      Is this method Practical Correct?
      Please do a video based on what you suggest...!
      I like the way you Explain..! It gives much confidence..!
      Thanks..!

    Hi looks like a great screen set but not all hot keys seem to work eg. Alt A does not seem to work or am I doing something wrong?
    Keith.

      All hotkeys can be manipulated by the end user and aren't based on the screen set you're using as they're embedded in Mach3. Thank you,
      Vince
