Thank you for supporting my local pen makers. Both are fantastic.

It kinda made me want to search more maker pens without swirls.

How fun to have a custom pen made! The exact dimensions and colors that you want. Enjoy..

I always wonder whether I should stick with what I know - like Walltowns or now Little Pen Designs or try something new like the Velma model from Bonecrusher 7 Studios.

Love small makers. Great for custom made pens, so wary to work with!

I have an Acadia model from LPD. Honestly a favourite, sooo beautiful and comfortable to hold for ages.

The shell case for storing nibs is a great idea! I use them for ink samples, but have my nibs (which I do keep in ink vials) just rolling around in a drawer. The pen is gorgeous!

Love the nibventory! I also keep my nibs in empty ink sample bottles but hadn’t thought about storing them in an ink sample tray. Thanks for the great ideas.

I am so stealing your shell case (I already have one for samples,) and the book flag system. Very smart! Except now I need to figure out which nibs are where first lol. Oh, and I have teeny tiny hands and for me at least the girth totally makes all the difference in how a pen feels. I actually have several custom pens, and the others are smaller than the Waltown. Being the opposite of you and needing smaller girth (because my hands are very tiny, I wear children's gloves), I ended up with a lovely Waltown Slim Watts instead of the normal and it's lovely. The custom pen rabbit hole is my favorite part of the rabbit hole - welcome!

It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do. I did not want to buy anything new and so this was the best solution.

That nib log is genius! I am also stealing the idea of storing in a shell case. I keep misplacing my nibs and it is stressing me out. Your new pen is so beautiful! I love the base colour and the sparkles!

Welcome to our specialty nib realm! İt's a lot of fun and of course a rabbit hole within the FP rabbit hole 😂! And personally I wouldn't change it a bit; I love every nib I own and especially the 'weider' ones. I recently got my hands on a bilateral nib from Galen Leather. They make a collab with Kaweco every year; and every year they also work with a local nib meister for these Kaweco Sports. This year they went for the fude and architect and such but the most interresting one to me was the bilateral nib. İt is a fude - kind of a squared one - in normal writing and in reverse it is a CI nib!! I can't get enough of it since I tried it on my journals!
I totally agree with Azizah on having many of the play nibs and putting them on pens to have them ready for use. Personally it changed my way of journalling drawing/doodling. And there is something very freeing in using these pens and nibs. I am glad that you are getting into this side of FPs as there aren't many who really are interrested. And that log is just perfection! I'm not that organized to tell you the truth but I can appreciate a good system when I see one 😊

I thought originally I was the total opposite of Azizah but I'm getting it more and more.

@@seemownay really!? You always seem to experiment with your pens and nibs and you are not afraid to pull them apart; you're a tinkerer basically. Besides anyone who gets a special Parallelle pen done and shoves its nib on a specially bought Opus for it as a birthday present, is bound to come to a point of wanting different nibs and bodies to house them 😉... no worries; its a fun part of FPs

Very pretty new pen! Love the glitters and the little star! I actually own the Walltown Pens Watts in Sebastian as well (bought it from Sarah from Ginger Peachy Pens), at the Dutch Pen Show last Sunday I bought a pre-owned hand turned pen by Analog Notes, it's in this pretty swirly resin with white, purple and black. I also own 3 Franklin Christoph pens and 2 Gravitas which are all essentially Jowo nib holders. I have 5 FC specialty nibs and had a Jowo B turned into an architect last Sunday as well. I will probably get more specialty nibs next year, just have to figure out which ones 😜

It's just so good. I love that pen so much! Both the new one and the Sebastian.

I definitely agree on the having speciality nibs permanently housed in pen bodies. I have been gradually doing this with mine. I currently am one pen body short but then there are two more nibs I would like to get. 🙄😂It has been working much better for me to just pull out a pen and ink it up rather than keep having to play musical nibs. Like you I have concerns that keep removing them can't in the long term be good for them. It made me laugh when you said you might be the princess and the pea of pen grips, my friend says I am the princess and the pea of shimmer inks, there are certain pens where I can feel the shimmer coming out of the nib and can't bear it and she says she definitely can't.

    • @seemownay
      @seemownay  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

I don't usually match my pens and inks and so switching nibs between bodies doesn't make sense unless the nib and the pen don't work well together. I'm thinking maybe it needs a slip cap like the Estie offers.
