I must say that she does a great job, but the sound and her ability were throttled down. You can feel the Disney production hands all over it. But, Mori does a great job as usual.

Hey Alison, it's so much fun to watch someone begin their Morissette journey. Your joy is our joy! This duet was part of a Disney produced event....that said....Disney is VERY strict as to how their songs are performed. They don't allow for showmanship....you pretty much have to stay "on script". So, yes, this is a "classic" version of the song.

There are many great singers out there (past and present) but in my opinion to be a great ARTIST/ENTERTAINER you not only have to have an amazing and unique style/sound/voice but also a charismatic personality. Without the charisma and bubbly personality you’re just another singer. There are many reasons why we love Morissette but I think most of us that follow her would agree apart from her phenomenal voice its her bubbly personality. Apart from being outgoing welcoming and charming she doesn’t let the fame get to her head. She’s literally just a normal person with great humility. How many times have we heard reactors say “She is so cute” or “I just want to be friends with her”.
Yeah this woman is truly once in a generational singer and an phenomenal ARTIST!!!

Another great Morissette duet is her "You Are The Reason" with Daryl Ong, though the best intro to him and some other singers at the same time might be the cover of "One Sweet Day" by the trio of BuDaKhel (Bugoy Drilon, Daryl Ong, and Michael [Khel] Pangilinan) featuring Katrina Velarde. For a whole other dimension to Morissette, there are also her "Defying Gravity, and "She Used To Be Mine - Live on Stages Sessions", where she shows that she would also be a hit on a Broadway stage.

Darren is much younger here (his voice hasn't dropped yet lol) and you can see that Morissette and Darren go way back. There is a lovely "brother/sister" relationship at work in this song. Lets to be honest, Morissette is not the only female singer who has a beautiful voice, there are many female singers out there who have a beautiful voices.
but for me morissette is a very perfect singer, why?
because morissette has all the aspects needed as a singer.
anything: beautiful voice, vocal technique, beauty, inspiration, entertainment and especially morissette's amazing personality, and because of that what makes morissette is my number 1 favorite female singer so far.

Im from England, i came across MORISSETTE over 5 yrs ago, she has along with the brilliant SOHYANG from South Korea been my 2 go to ARTISTS, MORISSETTE more so because she can do and sing anything, she can go from the most angelic to the BIG BAD WOLF and will blow your house down, there's no one out there that can manipulate her voice to suit any genre, i will argue until i am blue in the face as to whether there is ANYONE BETTER than her because there just isnt, when shes dueting she always takes her foot of the gas to let the other singer shine, if she wanted to she could end careers with her magnificent artistry, you have more chances of winning the lottery than finding someone BETTER than her, shes not just a brilliant singer she is the most amazing performer who grabs an audience by the scruff of the neck and she doesn't need an entourage to do it, just her on her own with band 3rd ave creating this unbelievable sound 🇬🇧👌🔥❤️.

I used to say all that stuff about Morissette but so many people, like you, say it so much better I've given up. To be the best, in a country having so many super-talented singers, is amazing enough but Mori is world-class. I wouldn't compare her to anyone. She's Morissette Amon and that's sufficient.

Unless you have a heart of stone, it is impossible not to tear up When Mori comes in, but I believe it's time to introduce the original voice of Jasmine and Mulan, and that would be Lea Salonga. She is the giant who provided the shoulders upon which the modern Filipina vocalists stand. Still touring in her 50's, her rendition of "On My Own" is considered a masterclass in singing and the best Musical Theater performance ever. Not everyone knows the face, but everyone knows the voice.
