Yes, it was a competition, but all the Chinese competitors were established, known singers and Dimash the unknown wild card. He was also learning both Chinese and English at that time. He doesn't speak that many languages, but he does sing in around 14 languages. He speaks Kazakh, Russian and, maybe, Kyrzyk at that time. His English has improved so much since then. Thanks 😊🙏💕

Dimash has been singing in numerous shows in China lately. In his latest one he sang a Kazakh folk song which is amazing and he does something that surprises everyone who hears it. The song is called Dudarai and you will love it, I'm sure! 😊
In the beginning the guy ask the girl if Dimash was nervous and she replied, not if your name is Dimash. He puts a surprise in every song he sings. Loved the ending note to this song. He did it better than the original song.

Dimash was 22 years oldthen, He is 29 years old now. He was the youngest contestant and the first non-Chinese person to compete. He also was the only amateur contestant. The other contestants were Chinese professional singers. They called him their, “ Imported younger brother “. Dimash only speaks Kazakh, Russian and after he left China he started to learn English. The only words he knew in English at that time was, “ Hello, my name is Dimash”. He phonetically sings in other languages. He does not speak those languages, he just learned to sing a song in them. He’s tried to learn Mandarin but he says that it is very difficult for him. He knows a few words but he speaks better English! 😊❤️

I think his accent just adds flavour to the songs, & I don't bother reading captions as I just want to watch him while he sings. He doesn't speak all those languages, he just sings in them. He speaks Kazakh, Russian, some English, & a little Mandarin. I love his covers better than originals, many of which I never liked before he did them.
A correction, Dimash speaks 2 languages fluently (Kazakh, and Russian), he is learning English and is somewhat conversational with English at this point. He is also attempting to learn Mandarin (Chinese) but has said it is very difficult for him. The multitude of languages he sings in (around 14 maybe more by now), he learns the lyrics phonetically. He also has someone help with understanding what the words mean and get a sense of what the song as a whole means, so he has the best chance of convey the proper emotion. On a side note, star signs are not a real thing. 😉
Just so you know he didn’t really know any English at the time of this performance. He learned phonetically, so his English wasn’t perfect though it matters none to me! But it’s completely normal to notice. Great reaction! 💜

Dimash was 22 here, he had no English and learned the song phonetically. Now he speaks very good conversational English along with his own Kazakh language, fluent Russian and some Mandarin Chinese, he does understand a lot more than he speaks though. He sings in 15 languages (so far) ❤
Jeremy,from one Virgo to another: I was crying because this is a very personal and intimate song that Brian May wrote. When he introduced it to the rest of the boys, it was silently accepted and never spoken about it again. Everybody knew what it meant at that time when Freddie's illness had slowly progressed. I respect Dimash's talent and art but the pain and emotions of Freddie's inner turmoil can never been portrait by another artist. Thank you both, I got to dry my tears now. Love from this Queenie.❤
The Singer is not the usual singing show - it's for famous professional singers and being invited is already considered a huge honor - therefore the competition was on a completely other level. Dimash was at 22 the youngest ever invited and completely unknow in China - a fact that changed overnight after the first episode was aired. Another surprising fact was how supportive the contestants were of each other and even to the unknown kid amongst them.
IMO some of his best performances were from his time on “I Am A Singer” in 2017 when he’d was just 22 years old. He came second in the competition of famous, professional Chinese singers. The fans are right mostly it’s important to put up the captions except of those well known covers he did. All the other songs usually have a massage or explain the song itself. Rarely that the lyrics are either weird or kind of lost in translation.

Dimash can sing everything. I admit it's not my first choice as a Queen cover. But on occasion you absolutely have to react to the Queen Medley with the Super Vocal Boys. This is amazing. From all of them. Watch the ending. 16 seconds full power in one breath. Dimash starts with the note and ends with the others. There is only one video about it and it has already been edited for copyright reasons. I’ve heard some Dimash and he is amazing. His vocal prowess is evident. I’m not a huge fan but he is amazing. As far as the captions go for this song at least I think they were needed as he didn’t k w English much at all. Jeremy said that seeing the words was distracting because it made him notice all the little mispronunciations. I would say if you know all the words to The Show Must Go On then you may not need the captions. I LOVE Queen….and know most of their songs but TSMGO for some reason is not one of my favorites and besides the chorus don’t know the words. In that case…if you don’t know the words to the actual song then I would say you definitely need them. I was doing something g and o my listening and couldn’t see the video at all and I couldn’t understand a word he was singing
