when you have 2 little kids at home, then you are Zen behind the drums :)
Mayu has a very distinct voice whether she is talking, singing, screaming, rapping etc she still sounds like the same person. Figure this is a significant reason Nemophila almost always sounds like Nemophila even though they are spanning numerous styles and genres.
These ladies easily took over the number one spot of my all time favorite band .

Haraguchi-san (the bassist) wrote this song so she had a song to meditate to, so the song is named "Zen". They didn't have very much exposure before co vid, they formed in late 2019.

My favorite. The first time I heard this song I had to hear it again. It’s great. Her voice the guitars the smiling rhythm section 🟰 one hell of band.

I’ve been really getting into Japanese metal lately but nobody has hooked me the way Nemophila does. Bought all the albums, got a Nemophila T-shirt, going to get more and a couple different Gutsy Frog shirts (like Tamu wears). Started watching Gutsy Frog because of Tamu. Next time they come around, even if I have to travel I want to see them live.

"Zen" is about finding your own path without worrying about what others think. All the members were respected musicians in their own right before forming Nemophila, including Tamu who is one of the most sought out session drummers in Tokyo. Tamu has played in projects ranging from Jazz, Metal, Pop and Prog plus she's classically trained on piano as well as plays bass and guitar. Tamu's drumming holds this down imo, her kick action is ridiculous! As far as Hazuki's guitar, it is her signature Ibanez 7 string that has the Vai Tree Of Life vine inlay in the frets. She's actually a great technician and you can see her play some killer Vai like instrumentals on her promo videos for Ibanez products, including her signature (can be found in the official Ibanez channel).
This song is relentless! - except for the moment of zen toward the end. The Blu-Ray of this entire concert ( 4th Anniversary -Rising NEMO) is incredible.
the bass player Haraguchi San wrote this song....and that was her at the end....hey....lol....and for me Nemophila are miles ahead of band-maid and lovebites . as you said the others are good....but Nemophila has no limits !

This is one of my favourites by Nemophila as well. I personally prefer their heavier stuff. Their experimentation with a lot of styles dropped them a bit in my favourite Japanese bands list, but I still think they are very good overall and I do understand why so many people love them experimenting. I have said this in the past in other comments, but a lot of Japanese bands like to dabble in a lot of different genres and it has upsides and downsides. The upside is that most people will at least like some of your songs, the downside is that a bunch of fans might not necessarily enjoy all the genres you play. I enjoy a wide variety of music, but I have always checked them out for their heavier side for some reason, I am not really sure why.
If you want to check out an other band with a vocalist that can do both harsh and cleans, you can check out Saiseiga (they really need more love). They are typically more on the heavier side, but they also have some slower ballads as well. Regan's vocals are amazing, both in the studio and live just like Mayu's vocals in Nemophila and Yukina's vocals in Hanabie. The funny thing is that all 3 of them are very good harsh vocalists, but they each have a different approach to them and each of their harsh vocals are recognizable because of it. All 3 of them are also great performers. An other one that I really like is Nana from Gungire (and who sings live for Fate Gear), but Gungire is probably heavier than all 3 of the ones I mentioned above (they are almost purely metalcore) and only have 2 videos on youtube at this time.
