    As someone who was raised in Madison, moved away for a few years and now raise a family in Madison. It is one of the best kept secrets in the US. That field next to the old high school/ arts complex on Main Street used to be Madison Station, and then Tulane University. I attended both. My first grade classroom was the classroom I took my final college course in.
    Lots of special memories, now its a field. Lol

      I Don't think it'll be a field for long. There is a lot of growth and development coming into that area of town

      I never understood people playing soccer near 51. One misdirected kick, and a ball goes into traffic.

    Madison and Main is the name of the new Madison town square being planned. On the renderings they appear to have utilized architecture from Stockholm, Sweden for inspiration, given that Madison has a sister city in Sweden. My one critique of those plans is the lack of a genuine square or town green at the center. The District at Eastover has a great little town green surrounded by restaurants with outdoor dining spilling onto the green that has been a huge success.
    Also the Village at Madison seems to be using classic architecture rather than phony versions of architectural styles found in virtually all suburban subdivisions. The new Arlington at Colony Park will be doing the same, as well as Waterpointe in Flowood.

    I really enjoy your videos. I am trying to convince my husband to move to Madison Mississippi. I think we are going to take a vacation in the summer of 2023 to Madison to check it out. Hopefully we can meet up and say hello to the two of you, I watch your videos all the time, and I feel like I know you.

    If you had 250-350k to spend, where would YOU look to live? Preferably a nice suburb of Jackson
    My wife and I are homeowners in Florida and considering purchasing a second home in your area. Any feedback would be appreciated

      Me personally, I like the rez area (39047). You could get a fairly nice house there close to pretty much everything you’d want to be close to and all the outdoor fun at the reservoir. I’m partial to it because I live here and there are definitely a lot of great other options all around. If you’re serious definitely give us a call or text 6012926070. We would love to help you find the right place for you!

    Rosa Scott is only 9th grade. The reason for this Mike Kent wanted to keep the freshmen girls away from MCHS because the old guys at MCHS would come on to the freshmen girls. It also tames down the freshmen boys too.

      I was pretty confident on that but I didn’t know the specific reason. Makes sense though! Thanks for leaving a comment about it!

    That “school” you passed on the right WAS an extension of Tulane University. Originally, it was old Madison Ridgeland High School!

    I hate how crowded it’s become. Everyone wants to develop and build. Sucks.

    • @LivingInJackson
      @LivingInJackson  ปีที่แล้ว

      When you've got something good, more people want to come enjoy it. Madison is still no where near what you find in bigger metro areas in terms of being crowded.

      Crowded is a good thing as long as it’s not overcrowded. Crowded means life and can also mean quality city if it’s being planned around how many people are moving into the area. If people keep leaving Mississippi and not moving here, it will only make the whole state like the delta overtime. If a city knows how to plan development by adding lots of new while not tearing down the historic buildings and sites, then by all means, build and keep building. Bring things to the area that’s gonna attract young adults and entrepreneurs.
