    The adding of fish cribs in our area (Bass L., Cedar L, Big Round L. etc.) has helped greatly with the Crappie and Sunnies. 10 to 11" fish are great table fare. I've been working the 'Croix and Missi, with the water being back where it should be things are going well. Another nice video. PS, you might mention that not all states allow 2 hooks that far apart.

    • @reidsimonson
      @reidsimonson ปีที่แล้ว

      Wisconsin you can fish three lines. Rules are so up for interpretation with hook distance counting as one or two lines you will never get it right so no use in even trying. Wisconsin has some of the strictest line rules outside Ontario and Mudd duck land. In the south the only rule is no dynamite.

    • @kevinkev500
      @kevinkev500 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@reidsimonson Can't argue that we have some goofy rules but many are related to the Indian Treaties. I do wish we had a dynamite rule, that would make things easier. Mudd duck land...haha, I fully agree.

    U should try Bobby garland baby shad (double silver rainbow color) or Bobby garland baby shad (key lime pie color) these two colors slay crappies and on that double rig set up u will put a hurtin on the crappies 🎣

    Make the loop knot for the top jig and a Palomar knot on the bottom. That way the bottom jig can be set to be "level" with the jig above hanging loosely for more action when you "jig" the lures. I've had the best luck at doubles with this rig.

    • @fishin-impossible2992
      @fishin-impossible2992 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't agree I always use loop knots then you don't have to keep leveling your jig after you catch a fish

    I know this video’s quote old, but I got a question. I’m a new angler so this kight be a stupid question. Could you possibly add a bobber to this setup? If so how far up above the higher jig should I put it?

    • @FloppingCrappie
      @FloppingCrappie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can add a bobber to this setup if you want. As for how far up the line to set the bobber, this would depend on how deep you're fishing

    Thank you for broadcast what do you mean when you say quick release? What kind and weight line are you using?

    • @FloppingCrappie
      @FloppingCrappie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quick release refers the fish falling off the hook before I can get it in the boat. I was using 10lb braid and 1/16oz. Jigs. I have a list of my setup in the video description

  • @georgeshotrodbarn2113

      I have fished with a triple setup before, and you can pull up more fish, but risk more tangles

    No issue or less bites running straight braid?

    • @FloppingCrappie
      @FloppingCrappie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In clear water I would go with mono or fluorocarbon. You can get away with braid in stained/muddy water.

  • @richer4poorer
    @richer4poorer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Two Questions...why the loops and not just simple fishing knots? Second is do you generally use this heavy of line or is it simple for the sake of visibility in this video. Thanks

    • @FloppingCrappie
      @FloppingCrappie  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The loop knots tend to give the jigs more actions when vertically jigging. I started using heavier braid, or atleast heavier for crappie, after fishing in some southern states. In wisconsin, the heaviest braid I use for crappie in 10lb, but if i travel to TX, IL, OK, MO I will use up to 20lb braid when vertically jigging. If the water is very clear and I may down size to smaller diameter line or use flouro or mono line.

    I use a loop knot for the top hook( especially if I have a minnow on top) but why use the loop on the bottom hook vs say an improved clinch knot

    • @FloppingCrappie
      @FloppingCrappie  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have used the improved clinch knot before (actually in some other video with this double jig setup), I just prefer two loop knots. You could tie the rig either way and it would work. Some people argue that two loop knots allows more freedom for the jig to move like a bait fish.
