Obviously my ratings are extremely bias but it's genuinely how I feel. I love all 8 of their records. I love Reanimation, Recharged, Collision Course with Jay-Z, Fort Minor, Mike's solo album Post Traumatic, Dead by Sunrise, Grey Daze, and all the LPU b-sides that aren't available on streaming services. It's all amazing to me

@@jeux2322 they're all equal to me. Genuinely the list changes every week I don't have a concrete ranking for Linkin Park I love each album/project the same. This is just what I'm feeling right now. Sometimes I have Hybrid Theory #2 sometimes I don't. ATS is the only one that stays in the same spot as that's my personal favorite album of all time. There's some days I love Reanimation more than Hybrid Theory. This list genuinely just depends on my mood.

@@ModuliOfRiemannSurfacesI definitely agree and some songs I feel like they played it a bit too safe like I get it that it’s a comeback album so it’s fine if you look at it that way but there were quite a few songs that seemed like they could’ve got really creative with like overflow but the chorus and song structure just felt extremely safe and kind of generic it’s a pretty good album but personally I’d give it a 7.5/10 after the hype died down for me I really started looking critically at the album and was like they could’ve went in a really cool direction with this song but it fell flat
I pretty much agree with you on everything except "From Zero" is my favorite. I was 28 when "Hybrid Theory" came out. Loved the album and later loved "Meteora" and "Minutes to Midnight". I became a much more casual listener after that point, mostly just picking my favorites from each album and adding to playlist. I never became attached to Chester but did experience the gravity of his passing. I am guessing this is why I appreciate the new album more than the others. I have become way more attached to every single member of this band now. I have watched every interview and every concert they have done since September 5th. I also did a deep dive into Dead Sara's discography and was blown away. Any way, I just love seeing all the different perspectives of how people rank these albums and they affect each person differently. Music is such a beautiful and powerful thing yet totally unique to every human being and how they process it.

I remember you saying a long time ago that one thing that showed that Sleep Token is amazing is that everyone has a different favorite, which shows how not every song feels the same or evokes the same thing in everyone. If everyone likes the same song that almost seems less impressive. I've always thought about your observation since then. But I think this applies to LP's discography in many ways. Beyond the first 2, I tend to prefer their more pop-tinged sounds of One More Light and Living Things than Hunting Party, and I enjoyed the more production-heavy songs on From Zero as well--but I do love it ALL. I enjoyed seeing your ranking, even if I was flip-flopped on a few of them. Great video!
Dude I was literally telling a friend if I were to rank all of LP's albums along with the newest album I would rank From Zero third as well just behind Hybrid Theory & Meteora. You make a great point saying they take all the elements of their past records mixed in some genres we never heard from the band before and FZ definitely has replay value I went back to a good amount of songs from the album. I think for a comeback record with everything that happened losing a legend like Chester obviously he was such a talent and can't be replaced but Emily is bringing her own flavour into this new chapter for the band and stoked to see what comes next from them!
For me it's: S: Meteora, Hybrid Theory A: Living things, From Zero B: Minutes to midnight, The hunting party C: A thousand suns, One more light. I know a lot of people didn't like Living Things for whatever reason, but it's definitely one of my favorites. It is the album I still enjoy listening from start to end.
Mine (yes, i love OML) S) Hybrid Theory and Meteora A) One More Light and From Zero B) Minutes to Midnight C) ATS LT HP all merge together for me My relationship with OML... As a middle aged guy now, OML is an album i put on to chill out to. When I was 20 I needed the angst of HT and Meteora, but now I appreciate we got a mellow album in OML. They hit differently for different moods. I think it's way underrated within their fanbase.
Ill go 1). Meteora While i do think there are overall stronger songs on Hybrid theory, i think there are no duds on this album. Breaking the habit, faint and Numb are all top teir bangers of all time. And all in my top 5 Linkin Park songs. Most underrated song on this album is Fighting myself. 2). Hybrid Theory Love this record. In the end is one of the best songs ever recorded. And is my 2nd favorite Linkin Park song overall. Others like one step closer, crawling, and pushing me away are stud level music. Most underrated song on this album is Runaway. 3). A thousand suns Might be contreversial to say, but this is a banger. The Catalyst, Burning in the skies, and Iridesecnt are all great with The Catalyst probably being the most underrated song overall from LP. But the most underrated on this album is easily When they come for me. Love the beat and Mikes Rapping is so good in this one. 4). Living things Yeah its probably too high, but i just like this one a little bit more than MTM. Castle of Glass is my favorite LP song of all time. Burn it down is a top 10 song. Lost in the echo and Lies, Greedy, Misery are both good as well. And the most underrated on this album is Roads untraveled. 5). From Zero. Its a decent return to the rock world. Emptiness Machine was a great lead single. Heavy is the crown, over each other and two faced are all great in their own rights. But the rest is forgettable. I like the choruses of good things go and staind. But the rest is meh. 6). Minutes to midnight Top heavy album. What ive done is a great rock song. And Given Up is amazing. I also like shadow of the day alot. But the rest didnt resonate with me including bleed it out. 7). One more light. I like the concept. I really do. Heavy is a fine background song. And one more light is fine to listen to every now and then, but i just found it boring to be honest. 8). Hunting party Not a fan. I liked the attempt to go back to their roots, but nothing landed with me. The only good song on the record for me is Final Masquerade.

@@mralireza931 My problem with ATS is too much filler/interlude. Should cut Fallout, Wisdom, Justice, and Love. Empty Spaces should be a part of When They Come For Me. But I still love this album. All the sings are good.
This is my ranking too, tbh. MTM and From Zero might be on the same level, but I totally agree with The Hunting Party. It sounds like the band was trying to bring back that raw, heavy sound from their early days that all the fans bitched about them losing, but THEY didn't want to do it, so it sounds really forced and incoherent and muddy. Or maybe bc it sounded punk, like Birb said, and I don't like punk? Idk. Those top 3 are interchangeable though, depending on how I'm feeling. 👌

I still don't know if i like From Zero or The Hunting Party more, but i've been having From Zero on repeat XD. Nice to see someone appreciate A Thousand Suns, it's my favorite album for all the reasons you said, it's ambitious, it's cohesive, it feels like you're in a movie with world building and action and emotion, it really is an experience.

I wont rank the other remixed album, because well Reanimation is really one of a kind, and I think the way they explored music in that album made way to A thousand sun.
I think a lot of the metal fans had dropped out of Linkin Park when The Hunting Party was released, so it was very much overlooked. And does fans that loved the last two records might not have liked the more old school rock/punk sound.
Yes, that was exactly my case as well. I loved HT and Meteora, but was sorely disappointed in Minutes to Midnight. Then I listened to A Thousand Suns once and that made me completely disinterested in LP, so I completely missed The Hunting Party. Until now, when Emptiness Machine hit me by accident, so I went back and listened to all the albums. From Zero is great, The Hunting Party is great, the rest of the newer stuff is not for me.

Linkin Park is my favourite band, and Living Things was the Album that introduced me to them. At that point I wasn't listening to metal yet, but this album is to this day one of my favourite albums of all time.

I'm not a huge fan of The Hunting Party but I will admit that I think its one of those records that you have to listen to quite a few times and you realize that the songs are actually pretty decent. All For Northing Final Masquerade and A Line In The Sand being my favorite ones but this album lacked a lot of emotional movement to me which is why I resonated with them to begin with. I think From Zero is definitely in the top 3 just like you have. One thing though I would like to see is Reanimation ranked as well. You can call it a remix album but I actually like some of those songs than the original studio version and I think it is popular amongst really devoted LP fans

My first encounter with Linkin Park (that I knew it's them bc apparently Leave Out Of All The Rest was on the Twilight soundtrack????) was when they headlined day 2 or 3 of Rock am Ring back in 2014. They opened with Guilty All The Same off of Hunting Party and after I listened to the full album, I absolutely fell in love with it. Still my favorite Album to this day but From Zero is such a banger album as well. Easily on the same level as Hunting Party.
Okay, my list, haven't listened to Hunting Party either tho, so not in the list, but i'll definitely catch up 1. Hybrid Theory - this is the record, that inspired me to actually start singing sometimes. 2. Meteora - despite being second, it is still on the same level as the hybrid theory for the same reason. 3. From Zero - i've literally opened my mouth listening to this. It definitely exceeded my expectations 4. Living Things - kill me if you want to, but it's vibe. 5. Minutes to Midnight - I don't actually want to put it here, because I like every record outside of One More Light. It is still good, but I don't listen to it as much as the others 6. A Thousand Suns - same as the MTM. Don't want to put it here, because I also like it 7. One More Light - title track makes me cry, others... meh.

One of Linkin Park strongest and heaviest songs was on their worst album, it's One More Light. I'm a hardcore LP Fan and a freaking ballad completly broke me😅. Their current album, I think is one of their best records.
Without a doubt Linkin Park left a mark in a big scene and in most people i know. Even if just for a casual listen. Music is beautiful and the reason why LP became my favorite band ever besides the emotional/personal attachments i have is because they're are one of the few popular bands in the rock/metal scene who decided to take the risk in make different music styles leaving in the way a great variety in their catalogue. Here's how are ranked their projects obviously based in my liking. 7 Living Things (kinda forgettable after the 3rd song without mention Castle Of Glass or the beautiful Powerless) 6 From Zero (it didn't convince me as the way i was expecting but like a comeback i think works well) 5 Minutes To Midnight (Their change arrive with this and it was a cool album to begin with that) 4 The Hunting Party (The most underrated album, I'm really happy that with their comeback, people are going deep into their discography to find this gem, seriously I'm amazed how A Line In The Sand is not one of their most popular songs) 3 Hybrid Theory (classic take) 2 A Thousand Suns (a whole n complete experience) 1 Meteora (Solid record with many memorable tracks, banger after banger) Have a nice day ✨

Maybe it's because I got attached to the very, very emotional Chester screams.
List looks solid. I feel this is their 3rd best album as well. From Zero is pretty solid honestly. I like the final song a lot, Good Things Go. Id be surprised if it isnt a single later. Definitely same top 3.
I was a bit surprised that you didn't like Living Things more. Lost in the echo, Victimized, Lies greed misery are bangers in addition to the singles. Skin to Bone is quite good too.

Feels traumatic hearing anything off it like a last cry for help, especially hearing the title track which reminds me of the performance Chester did following Chris Cornell's death.

I think ATS is way overrated. I don't see how it's supposed to be "experimental" or "conceptual". While I primarily listen to metal as well, I also listen to a bit of electronic music (Infected Mushroom, Prodigy) and compared to that ATS is mostly safe, boring, lifeless electronic pop (for me). As for One More Light, the album has nothing to do with Chester's death and it should be evaluated on its own, not connected to this tragic event. And to me it's below average lifeless pop. Honestly, most of the songs sound like a joke to me.

Unpopular opinion: I find Hybrid Theory a little overrated compared to Meteora. The second half of Hybrid Theorie doesnt do it for me, but the first half is one of the best in music. Also Reanimation is a underrated album nobody talks about. They have some cool stuff in there. SS: Meteora (one of the best albums ever made), Papercuts (I know this is cheating). S: Hybrid Theorie, From zero A: Hunting Party, Minutes to Midnight, Reanimation B: Living Things C: Thousand suns (only song i like is Blackout and The Catalyst) D: One more light (not my style. I find it way to overproduced and radio pop style)

Overflow and good things go are masterpieces. 5. Hybrid theory - very good, but too raw imo + heard too many times. 6. Minutes to midnight - good, solid work. Sad that “blackbirds” remained as a demo and not on the album, it would have elevated it above hybrid theory. 7. The hunting party - good (i like it, but i like the other albums more) 8. Living things - mid (a lot of skippable songs, but also a lot of bangers like castle of glass and burn it down) 9. One more light - There’s a good pop songs but that’s not my thing.
A Thousand Suns, Living Things, and One More Light were not my favorites, and I view One More Light like it was Chester singing his suicide note. Hybrid Theory, Meteora, Minutes to Midnight, and The Hunting Party are the only albums I will listen to. I did listen to the new album and I found it okay, but they will never bring back that edge they had.

@@jeux2322 they're all equal to me. Genuinely the list changes every week I don't have a concrete ranking for Linkin Park I love each album/project the same. This is just what I'm feeling right now. Sometimes I have Hybrid Theory #2 sometimes I don't. ATS is the only one that stays in the same spot as that's my personal favorite album of all time. There's some days I love Reanimation more than Hybrid Theory. This list genuinely just depends on my mood.

@@ModuliOfRiemannSurfacesI definitely agree and some songs I feel like they played it a bit too safe like I get it that it’s a comeback album so it’s fine if you look at it that way but there were quite a few songs that seemed like they could’ve got really creative with like overflow but the chorus and song structure just felt extremely safe and kind of generic it’s a pretty good album but personally I’d give it a 7.5/10 after the hype died down for me I really started looking critically at the album and was like they could’ve went in a really cool direction with this song but it fell flat

I pretty much agree with you on everything except "From Zero" is my favorite. I was 28 when "Hybrid Theory" came out. Loved the album and later loved "Meteora" and "Minutes to Midnight". I became a much more casual listener after that point, mostly just picking my favorites from each album and adding to playlist. I never became attached to Chester but did experience the gravity of his passing. I am guessing this is why I appreciate the new album more than the others. I have become way more attached to every single member of this band now. I have watched every interview and every concert they have done since September 5th. I also did a deep dive into Dead Sara's discography and was blown away.
Any way, I just love seeing all the different perspectives of how people rank these albums and they affect each person differently. Music is such a beautiful and powerful thing yet totally unique to every human being and how they process it.

I remember you saying a long time ago that one thing that showed that Sleep Token is amazing is that everyone has a different favorite, which shows how not every song feels the same or evokes the same thing in everyone. If everyone likes the same song that almost seems less impressive. I've always thought about your observation since then. But I think this applies to LP's discography in many ways. Beyond the first 2, I tend to prefer their more pop-tinged sounds of One More Light and Living Things than Hunting Party, and I enjoyed the more production-heavy songs on From Zero as well--but I do love it ALL. I enjoyed seeing your ranking, even if I was flip-flopped on a few of them. Great video!
Dude I was literally telling a friend if I were to rank all of LP's albums along with the newest album I would rank From Zero third as well just behind Hybrid Theory & Meteora. You make a great point saying they take all the elements of their past records mixed in some genres we never heard from the band before and FZ definitely has replay value I went back to a good amount of songs from the album. I think for a comeback record with everything that happened losing a legend like Chester obviously he was such a talent and can't be replaced but Emily is bringing her own flavour into this new chapter for the band and stoked to see what comes next from them!

My relationship with OML... As a middle aged guy now, OML is an album i put on to chill out to. When I was 20 I needed the angst of HT and Meteora, but now I appreciate we got a mellow album in OML. They hit differently for different moods. I think it's way underrated within their fanbase.

1). Meteora
While i do think there are overall stronger songs on Hybrid theory, i think there are no duds on this album. Breaking the habit, faint and Numb are all top teir bangers of all time. And all in my top 5 Linkin Park songs. Most underrated song on this album is Fighting myself.
2). Hybrid Theory
Love this record. In the end is one of the best songs ever recorded. And is my 2nd favorite Linkin Park song overall. Others like one step closer, crawling, and pushing me away are stud level music. Most underrated song on this album is Runaway.
3). A thousand suns
Might be contreversial to say, but this is a banger. The Catalyst, Burning in the skies, and Iridesecnt are all great with The Catalyst probably being the most underrated song overall from LP. But the most underrated on this album is easily When they come for me. Love the beat and Mikes Rapping is so good in this one.
4). Living things
Yeah its probably too high, but i just like this one a little bit more than MTM. Castle of Glass is my favorite LP song of all time. Burn it down is a top 10 song. Lost in the echo and Lies, Greedy, Misery are both good as well. And the most underrated on this album is Roads untraveled.
5). From Zero. Its a decent return to the rock world. Emptiness Machine was a great lead single. Heavy is the crown, over each other and two faced are all great in their own rights. But the rest is forgettable. I like the choruses of good things go and staind. But the rest is meh.
6). Minutes to midnight
Top heavy album. What ive done is a great rock song. And Given Up is amazing. I also like shadow of the day alot. But the rest didnt resonate with me including bleed it out.
7). One more light. I like the concept. I really do. Heavy is a fine background song. And one more light is fine to listen to every now and then, but i just found it boring to be honest.
8). Hunting party
Not a fan. I liked the attempt to go back to their roots, but nothing landed with me. The only good song on the record for me is Final Masquerade.
At this point, almost every LP fan that I come across agrees on ATS being very very good. So we may have to stop calling it controversial.

This is my ranking too, tbh. MTM and From Zero might be on the same level, but I totally agree with The Hunting Party. It sounds like the band was trying to bring back that raw, heavy sound from their early days that all the fans bitched about them losing, but THEY didn't want to do it, so it sounds really forced and incoherent and muddy. Or maybe bc it sounded punk, like Birb said, and I don't like punk? Idk. Those top 3 are interchangeable though, depending on how I'm feeling. 👌

I think cohesiveness is one of the most important things in an album, thats why ATS is my favorite. I still don't know if i like From Zero or The Hunting Party more, but i've been having From Zero on repeat XD. MtM is not a bad album but i think the second half is much weaker than the first, the singles are great tho.

I think a lot of the metal fans had dropped out of Linkin Park when The Hunting Party was released, so it was very much overlooked. And does fans that loved the last two records might not have liked the more old school rock/punk sound.
Yes, that was exactly my case as well. I loved HT and Meteora, but was sorely disappointed in Minutes to Midnight. Then I listened to A Thousand Suns once and that made me completely disinterested in LP, so I completely missed The Hunting Party. Until now, when Emptiness Machine hit me by accident, so I went back and listened to all the albums. From Zero is great, The Hunting Party is great, the rest of the newer stuff is not for me.

I have to say, I’m a hardcore LP fan, so even if THP and HT are dead last I still think they are nearly perfect albums.
I'm not a huge fan of The Hunting Party but I will admit that I think its one of those records that you have to listen to quite a few times and you realize that the songs are actually pretty decent. All For Northing Final Masquerade and A Line In The Sand being my favorite ones but this album lacked a lot of emotional movement to me which is why I resonated with them to begin with. I think From Zero is definitely in the top 3 just like you have. One thing though I would like to see is Reanimation ranked as well. You can call it a remix album but I actually like some of those songs than the original studio version and I think it is popular amongst really devoted LP fans

I love all albums except One More Light. It's not a bad album, but it's not good either.
My first encounter with Linkin Park (that I knew it's them bc apparently Leave Out Of All The Rest was on the Twilight soundtrack????) was when they headlined day 2 or 3 of Rock am Ring back in 2014. They opened with Guilty All The Same off of Hunting Party and after I listened to the full album, I absolutely fell in love with it. Still my favorite Album to this day but From Zero is such a banger album as well. Easily on the same level as Hunting Party.
Okay, my list, haven't listened to Hunting Party either tho, so not in the list, but i'll definitely catch up
1. Hybrid Theory - this is the record, that inspired me to actually start singing sometimes.
2. Meteora - despite being second, it is still on the same level as the hybrid theory for the same reason.

4. Living Things - kill me if you want to, but it's vibe.
5. Minutes to Midnight - I don't actually want to put it here, because I like every record outside of One More Light. It is still good, but I don't listen to it as much as the others

One of Linkin Park strongest and heaviest songs was on their worst album, it's One More Light. I'm a hardcore LP Fan and a freaking ballad completly broke me😅. Their current album, I think is one of their best records.

Without a doubt Linkin Park left a mark in a big scene and in most people i know.
Even if just for a casual listen.
Music is beautiful and the reason why LP became my favorite band ever besides the emotional/personal attachments i have is because they're are one of the few popular bands in the rock/metal scene who decided to take the risk in make different music styles leaving in the way a great variety in their catalogue.
Here's how are ranked their projects obviously based in my liking.
7 Living Things (kinda forgettable after the 3rd song without mention Castle Of Glass or the beautiful Powerless)
6 From Zero (it didn't convince me as the way i was expecting but like a comeback i think works well)
5 Minutes To Midnight (Their change arrive with this and it was a cool album to begin with that)
4 The Hunting Party (The most underrated album, I'm really happy that with their comeback, people are going deep into their discography to find this gem, seriously I'm amazed how A Line In The Sand is not one of their most popular songs)

Don't get me wrong, there are songs on From Zero where Emily sounds energetic and great, but I personally, most of the time, just can't stand her screaming and it feels emotionless. Maybe it's because I got attached to the very, very emotional Chester screams.

From Zero is pretty solid honestly. I like the final song a lot, Good Things Go. Id be surprised if it isnt a single later.

I pretty much avoid the album One More Light. Feels traumatic hearing anything off it like a last cry for help, especially hearing the title track which reminds me of the performance Chester did following Chris Cornell's death.

So I agree on everything except A Thousand Suns and One More Light. I think ATS is way overrated. I don't see how it's supposed to be "experimental" or "conceptual". While I primarily listen to metal as well, I also listen to a bit of electronic music (Infected Mushroom, Prodigy) and compared to that ATS is mostly safe, boring, lifeless electronic pop (for me).
As for One More Light, the album has nothing to do with Chester's death and it should be evaluated on its own, not connected to this tragic event. And to me it's below average lifeless pop. Honestly, most of the songs sound like a joke to me.

Unpopular opinion: I find Hybrid Theory a little overrated compared to Meteora. The second half of Hybrid Theorie doesnt do it for me, but the first half is one of the best in music.
Also Reanimation is a underrated album nobody talks about. They have some cool stuff in there.

YES I will count Reanimation, even tho it is mostly just remixes of Meteora and Hybrid Theory, I think they are so different in their way, and it's also 20 tracks, and maybe it's because of nostalgia with my family but it's #1 for me, for that

I feel living things was slightly better than a Thousand suns
For me the rankings are:
1 - Hybrid Theory
2 - A Thousand Suns (for me this is peak LP creatively)
3 - Meteora
4 - Living Things
5 - From Zero
6 - Minutes to Midnight (this album fall hard after a few songs)
7 - One More Loght
8 - The Hunting Party (i don't like the hard rock / punk that this album tries to do)
My ranking:
1. A thousand suns - my favourite album of all time
2. Reanimation - my second favourite album of all time
3. Meteora - classic
4. From zero - perfect. Overflow and good things go are masterpieces.
5. Hybrid theory - very good, but too raw imo + heard too many times.
6. Minutes to midnight - good, solid work. Sad that “blackbirds” remained as a demo and not on the album, it would have elevated it above hybrid theory.
7. The hunting party - good (i like it, but i like the other albums more)
8. Living things - mid (a lot of skippable songs, but also a lot of bangers like castle of glass and burn it down)
9. One more light - There’s a good pop songs but that’s not my thing.
A Thousand Suns, Living Things, and One More Light were not my favorites, and I view One More Light like it was Chester singing his suicide note.
Hybrid Theory, Meteora, Minutes to Midnight, and The Hunting Party are the only albums I will listen to. I did listen to the new album and I found it okay, but they will never bring back that edge they had.
