The ref put his fingers on top of the ball four times without actually moving it. He moved it slightly but it rolled back each time.

What was the reason at the end why ronnie got upset at with the ref?
I was curious too and it seem's there's no official statement about this. Most people say Ronnie muttered some swear word off camera and the judge was warning him about it.
I seem to remember that it kinda sorta looked like Ronnie raised his middle finger to the table in his wrath at having snookered himself on the previous shot. Needless to say the ref was not happy about it.
Late reply but Ronnie says "What gesture did you see" Ref says: "I saw it Ronnie", so the judge thought Ronnie was doing something disrespectful, I doubt he actually did though, given the reactions
this is shown in the ronnie documentary, just the ref being an arse.

Watching back the bit where the ref tells Ronnie the edge of the red is hittable... its not, not even close, no idea what he was on that day but Ronnie was right to be annoyed. You cannot see the edge of the red in the first instance.
Do-able with a bit of power & spin, but he knew if he messed that up, Trump would have had the table.
And it resulted in quite a bit of snookering and that beautiful double cushioned black at the end.
TWO PLAYER I WILL GIVE RESPECT
RONNIE WAS into this as much as he has ever wanted to win in his entire career.....we can tell immediately by the way he instinctively knew around the 49:00 minute mark that there might be a problem with replacing the cue should he miss the red...which he did.....
the point is....to be able to give total attention to the play these type of incidents must be recognized and addressed beforehand, so the play remains intense but calm......overlooking the possibility that can arise from not taking such actions will contribute to less than a 100% effort....and Ronnie was having none of that!

Best of all time
As I watched this in real time two weeks ago, I kept thinking this is going to be a _real_ match. Ronnie is not going to just blow through Judd Trump. At the start their head-to-head record was Judd 4 wins, and Ronnie 2. In other words, I was right. This was one of the best matches anyone could want to watch.
well i agree Ronnie did not "blow" through trump....highly unlikely ever at a final....though obviously anything can happen....but this match was not close and there was never a time in the entire match where i felt Ronnie was in any danger of losing.......though you may have seen it different
@@jadezee6316 I kind of feel the same way. The whole tournament, except for some brief moments, ROS just looked as though he was on an unstoppable mission. I thought it was a great match, and as Hendry said, Ronnie will be going for the 8th, no doubt.

Ронни конечно спец, но ведет себя как хозяин . Постоянно морально давит соперника, выводит из равновесия, " тянет одеяло на себя". Требует поставить шар туда, куда ему нравится, а Трамп вынужден соглашаться со звездой.

Depends entirely upon the frame. Usually around 67/68 - 0 should do it.

Pompous ref, so proud and self-important, annoying. Should never again judge last 16 matches in my opinion.
The most painful thing about this was the two commentators. Both especially the older one, bless him much respect but jesus he states the obvious all the time and I always feel like I'm listening to a 70s radio station.
Ronnie is amazing we all know that, it's why he's where he is after so long, but the way the commentators were talking about Judd sometimes was quite rude in my opinion

I wonder why they don't use tech to illuminate the exact spot for the balls onto the table? This whole "the referee eyeballs the ball positions after a miss" process seems to very unprecise for this precision sport
You won't see another player like ronnie again even in the future, he's a one off. At his best he's unplayable. Trust me I knw my snooker. I was good myself.
Some surprising mistakes considering the ranking of both players. Ronnie should have led 6-2 at the end of this session. But we saw some very nice shots. I can only make them on a console lol.

Ronnie really does play a psychological game, in his interview he says he was in the zone and says i dont play a psychological game, no one accused him of that so he basically says i do play a psychological game and he really does, he aint that clever giving himself away like he does but he does play players, he would do it better if he didnt drop himself in it, so he really is not that smart.
This is the biggest load of nonsense i've ever read, don't think you could put together so many sentences that mean absolutely nothing like that again if you tried. Ronnie doesn't need to play any games other than snooker. He is upfront with everything he does and says, he is a complete dickhead sure but also a very good person to those he loves. And when he gets the cue in his hand and the game starts he is absolutely the smartest, and the very very best on this planet.
All that match it's one and only f##king fake.
