I've heard Dubai is for tourist that want the expensive accommodations and Abu Dhabi is where the real jobs and real life is at. But if I remember, the reason is that Abu Dhabi is where the oil money and jobs are at so Dubai had to find a way to compete so they went flashy with high end tourist destination.

Looks like an interesting trip, but it felt like you did a lot less activities compared to some other locations.
