Bob Taylor is the best wicketkeeper England has had in my lifetime. The thing I particularly remember about watching him keep wicket, in tests and in county cricket, was how cleanly he took the ball. He was always in the right position and the ball didn't make a sound going into his gloves. He frequently made difficult takes look effortless.
