What a delight Derek Randall was to watch! He was unorthodox as a batsman, eccentric as a character and entertaining as both. A true gentleman, too. I remember seeing him spend an entire interval in a county cricket match signing autographs for those who wanted them. Nothing was too much trouble. Of whom, today, can that be said?
Bit biased being a Notts fella but loved watching Derek twitching away, adjusting this that and the other then a glorious cover drive for four. Much underrated batsman (Not batter!) Brilliant fielder too! 😃
