I love that tripod, my only comment on it is the removal of the small ball head in the monopod stand, the new style is fantastic to use as a pedal while the monopod is attached, but a bit less convenient to use in a tabletop mode. Excellent straight to the point review love it!!!

Until you mentioned the weight I want a system for travel which weighs no more than 2 1/2 lbs. do they have something similar but lighter, or what would you recommend? Thank you
Hi Richard, I am not sure that with a head you can get a monopod that is 1KG. To me what is more problematic is the folded length. I would really like to see a monopod that is shorter (much shorter - basically the length of a small folded tripod) but can take an extender.

Is the QR plate at the top Manfrotto or Arca-Swiss compatible?
If I remember correctly this should work with a 501 plate. If you want an Arca or RC2 you will have to attach a base on top like we did.
