or to the parents who spent money on reservations and food for 20 kids plus their parents - or to the parents that spoke of and planned the party with their kid which set expectations for that kid who is how scarred for life
I totally agree, but that's still too hard of a life lesson for a kid. The parents of the no-shows are a reflection of something that's so wrong with society.
I gather that right there the problem are not the kids who didn't show up, but their parents. Unfortunately then the kids grow up with the same lack of values.
Fire prevention days going to schools and letting the kids climb aboard the trucks was one of the most enjoyable things about being a firefighter and I miss it. This is something he'll never forget. Awesome.
It's my children's favorite day too. They come home with badge stickers and plastic hats excited to tell me who they met. They come out to the library on event days too. Maybe volunteer with your nearest library? If you have extra hours and the ability.🎉
The firemen made this little boy's birthday party a great party, so great that he will always remember this 7th birthday party. Thanks a lot to the firemen! 🎉👏👏👏👍👍👍😘
Same think happened to us .. when I asked him what he wanted for his birthday he said friends to play with and sing happy birthday to him .... my grandson turned 6 and only one friend came ... I seen him looking around and he was so sad ... So, I got in the car and drove to the grocery store, went in and searched for kids, found a couple and after talking with parents they headed to the party, went into a couple of other places and got a few more, then I went to my neighborhood and got the kids that live around me ... as I swung into pick up the pizza I mentioned it to a few more ... by the time I got back to the park we had over 40 people there ... all the kids just ran around laughing and playing ... all the parents sat at the picnic tables and chatted ... anytime I seen a child show up at the park I called out to them and invited them over ... Luke gave me the biggest hug and said it was the best birthday he ever had ... it was one of the best days for me too ... met a lot of new people :)
I’m an old man and this wonderful story brought tears to my eyes! Thank those awesome Firefighters that responded to this big time emergency and it don’t get no cooler than hanging with real life heroes, Thank You Firefighters!!!!!!! Thank You!!!!!!! Thank You!!!!!!!!!!! I’d be tickled to death to have a birthday party like this lil guy did!!!!!!!!!! Men and Women of steel hearts of pure Gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a paramedic and I have done something similar in the past, my station got a call a few days before the party stating that every guest bar two had declined the invitations to the party, so we arranged for us to send me and some colleagues to the party on our days off using a few reserve fleet ambulances and vehicles including the reserve air ambulance which I actually work on and did so at the time (it was my first month with hems), I was sent to pick up the birthday boy and his mum in the air ambulance, while his guest and family was picked up by a reserve fleet ambulance, we went and had a great time and every year we get invited to the young man's party (he is fifteen this year) and we have a brilliant time he is also now one of our ambulance cadets! He has never forgotten the day that his party was rescued by the ambulance service and plans to become a paramedic!
Thank you for all the great work you do. Did any of his friends who had declined, do better the following year? I'm sure they regretted their decision the moment they heard they were replaced by fire fighters and what fun you guys all had. Keep safe. Thanks again for your countless rescue missions you do each and every day!
He didn't actually invite any of the friends who declined the invitation the following year, but he did invite myself and all of the paramedics and ambulance technicians (emt) who came first time around as well as the friend who came to the original party, we even managed to rope in the fire and rescue service the second year and we had a party again and took the fire and rescue dogs with us for a bit of play time, but by all accounts his friends were not very happy to have been replaced by paramedics and ambulance technicians, I believe they were even more upset about not even receiving a invite the following year, although on the third year he started inviting them again!
Ugghh that's impeccable. You guys are the best. His "friends" learned a life lesson on loyalty there. They learned that if they don't value someone, then they're not top value either. What a lesson to be acted in real life by respected professionals. Thanks again for all yoir service and your random acts of kindness.
I am a mom & tears are streaming !! The World is a Better Place Because of This Woman & The Firefighters !! God bless you all including the Birthday Boy & family & the 1 child that showed up !!
Bless them. But honestly, shame on the parents of the other kids, that were invited. How would your kid feel, if no one showed up? Teach your kids compassion and responsibility.
Shame on the parents...i pray your children dont EVER go through the same..just disgusting....🥳 HAPPY FUTURE BIRTHDAYS MY GUY🥳 And kudos to the fire fighters, this is why you guys are more than amazing.
Damn, I can't believe I've seen 5 videos already where no kids showed up. This is always playing in the back of my mind if I throw a bday party for my son and no one shows up. My son loves to be around people of all ages. Super active. This would really hurt him, but he tends to make the best out of everything.. Still no kids should go through this feeling of loneliness. Do better, parents!!
What IS it with these parents who let their kids flake out on commitments? Good luck with your little darlings getting/keeping a job or a spouse; they’ll be living with you for a long time if these are the horrible values you teach them.
@@kellyanderson7624 Not necessarily, if I counted on my parents to drive me to events and sports outings growing up, I would go to only few. If a kid wants to attend the party and the parents don't want to take them, that kid would easily make other arrangements to get a ride.
Just classic act by the firemen he will never forget his birthday one for the ages i try not to get teary eyed and emotional I'm left speechless please don't party to hard much love and respect and appreciation job well done you should be amazed and proud way to go eat well bon its your birthday you deserve it you are the man and loved and appreciated by real friends !!! Joe ❤😂😂
This happened to my daughter a couple of years ago for her 12th b-day. She had everything planned out...cupcakes, gift bags for everyone, and games to play. Not one kid showed up, even after getting rsvp’s from all the parents. She was devastated. I told her unfortunately there are some evil people out there who just don’t care. I’ve made sure after that day to never let that happen again. This year was going to be similar due to us having just moved to another state. I ended up arranging for her best friend to be here for two weeks as well as g-ma a g-pa to be here. Hopefully next year will take care of itself with the new friends she’ll make in school, but I’m already mentally on standby with some plans just in case.
These firefighters are true heroes! I really praise them for this act of kindness for this poor lad without any payment! I hope good karma pays back these firemen and the one kid who RSVPed and bad karma comes for the parents of the kids who were no-shows!
Oh my, what a beautiful story and such a lesson for the world. I am 66 years old and have seen far too much of this happen to people I care about in my life and I too would always try and go the extra mile to help my friends, so to see a happy outcome simply fills me with joy. Thank you to those great people who made this little guy's birthday such a special time. More people in this world need to step up and share happiness with others.
When I was this kids age, we had a couple in school that had no friends either. There was good reason for it to. They're all cops, politicians or in jail now.
A wonderful story of good people from the fire department. Thank you also to the news people reporting this. There are still good, kind hearted Americans, so nice to see and know about
I’m Canadian and one thing I’ve always noticed is, that the values across small town America are amazing. That, is the American dream. We need that back. Make America (and Canada) great again!
You will never expect show up at your birthday party when you least expect it you are so lucky once in a lifetime does something like this happens party like you mean it go have some fun thanks ! Joe
If I was 7 I would be his friend. If I was one of his friends and had NOT shown up, I'd of really apologised and made him something or a card or somthing.
My oldest grandson had a bday party is a pizza place and he didn't have anyone show up but his grandparents and sister . Three boys that's brother s was coming with thier mother and someone stoled something from their house and had to turn around and go home .😢
@@elliesouza717 So he knows, who's the one real friend he can count on and who are the others, that had "better things to do"! And it is very, very healthy cause all the others aren't persons he can relay on. It's not schicky-micky-country (UNsocial media), where the number of friends apparently reflects some status, but real life. There he should quickly recognize who is an opportunist and who is a friend. Saves a lot of money, time and disappointment!!
That one kid who showed up is a true friend!
First responders showing up to a birthday is a neat treat. Firefighters Aren't JUST for fighting fires.
At least one showed up, honestly it’s better to have only one real friend than a big group of fake ones
Claire Cannon Yes! This is an underrated comment.

People want to see the numbers because they think it's a true reflection of how people feel about you
tell that to a kid with a broken heart and ego
or to the parents who spent money on reservations and food for 20 kids plus their parents - or to the parents that spoke of and planned the party with their kid which set expectations for that kid who is how scarred for life
I totally agree, but that's still too hard of a life lesson for a kid. The parents of the no-shows are a reflection of something that's so wrong with society.
I hope that one friend will be included. He is a true friend.

Those parents who don't want to bring their kids to social events bc they don't wanna socialize themselves are a new brand of evil
There are still good people out there. Sometimes I need to be reminded. Great news story!

The parents are the ones who have to drive them there. Blame the parents
