Nice effective weathering
Thank you 🙏
The chalk markings are destination codes put on in Marshalling yards/exchange sidings so wagons and vans can be shunted into correct positions on multi drop/mixed freight/local goods trains
Useful info. Many thanks
Fantastic results the oil paints weathering powders and paint all blended together nicely to create a realistic model. I have to get those Mig oil brushes/paints.
Oils a really versatile and not expensive. Worth a try
Looks bl**dy awesome!
Thank you. Glad you like it 👍🏼
Looks great , I particularly like the oilbrushers as they look like they are a good place to start weathering as they give you plenty of time to manipulate to get the right effect and can be used for pin washes and other effects
Yeah. Oils are fantastic to use. And very wast to clean off and start again if you don’t like the result. Oil brushes come in a while range of colours for fading and weathering. Some of the military colours would work well will rolling stock liveries.
Great video! Could you suggest which Vallejo model air colours would be good to mix to give a steam engine a grimey appearance?
Yes sure. I normally use black grey 70862 and sometimes add in a dark brown for a greasy look. Thanks for watching
Beautiful work, man. It's a shame you didn't film the weathering for the blue van as well. It would've been interesting to see them both together at the end. :)
Thanks buddy. Glad you like them
Hi when you have finished and about to varnish do you micks thinners I have a Matt varnish I've weathered my Hornby haa wagons and am a I confused just seeing if you know??thanks Paul
I use Vallejo Matt varnish which needs to be thinned 50:50 with airbrush thinners. Typically, if a Vallejo bottle has a white lid, then it need thinning. A black lid suggests it’s already thinned such as the Air range.
@@BuntersYard am using railmatch paints but I'll try 50/50 I've only got 17 todo and a colas 56 lol
I have a few Railmatch colour and they do need thinning. Generally you’re after the paint to have the consistency of milk. Good luck with your small rake of wagons 😂
@@BuntersYard thanks for the advice I'll try it tomorrow thanks again Paul
Let me know how you get on
