I was a State Court judge for 18 years. I wouldn't even let a lawyer buy me a beer at a social function for fear of violating ethics standards. The Supreme Court's lack of standards is obscene!
I tried to buy a Starbucks coffee for a police officer in line behind me and he wouldn’t accept it because of ethics standards as well. I didn’t understand it before that moment but it taught me a big lesson.
Can all the Judges get together to stand up to them or keep them honest somehow?

I agree your honor, whole heartedly. Are there even ethical standards in place for members of the US Supreme Court today? Speaking of what's obscene, feel free to take a look at the following ongoing case in Boston: Davis v Healey. It's now a 31 year civil rights case. Both the State's Attorney General and Governor should hold they're heads in shame for what they've done to the Davis family.

When I was a Civil Servant, I couldn’t accept a bottle of wine, flowers, a box of chocolates! I did get free pens, stress balls, and once a ruler. It was known and enforced that accepting anything even less t Han $50 had to be something for my entire office to share, such as a box of donuts!

If would not be the 1st time, the House of Representatives filed Articles of Impeachment with the Senate to remove Supreme Court, Judge Samuel Chase March 12th, 1804, the Senate did not find him guilty and remove him from office.

Yes, a $50 gtift rule,is what we need for SCOTUS. Like executives at major corporations, justices will be able to accept T-shirts, coffee mugs, calendars, 4-function calculators, paper weights, and MAGA hats. That is about it. No more luxury vacations, tuition for nephews, house for mother, etc. This is not just a matter of reporting, SCOTUS justices should not be accepting any gifts of more than $50 from non-relatives!

The Court does not give advisory opinions; rather, its function is limited only to deciding specific cases.
But the real reason they want to get rid of the supreme court is just another example of the swamp

The Supreme Court will simply say “all restrictions against us is unconstitutional”.
I laugh at that justice that thinks the Supreme Court cannot be held accountable by congress. I only took a high-school government class and even i know about the checks and balance system that has been in place since the founding of America. Both executive and legislative have the power to put the Supreme Court in check independently of each other with authority and the Supreme Court can also put executive and legislative in check independently. I doubt that any modern public officials in our current government actually understand the actual intricacies of our actual government or we would not have a justice that thinks he is above the law.

As a fairly new police officer, I worked a motor vehicle accident in the middle of a very hot and humid summer day in the Deep South. Our town had very rural areas surrounding it and one of the vehicles belonged to a family from one of the rural areas. The next day, I was notified by radio to come to the front counter of the police department. I walked into the lobby area, and there stood the older gentleman, his head bandaged-he smiled when he saw me and was holding a brown paper bag. He said "we bought you some fresh tomato's just picked 'em myself." My mouth watered and my heart broke because I couldn't accept them and this really hurt his feelings. I tried to explain about the ethics clause that was included in my swearing in ceremony and we could not accept gifts of ANY value. I said I sure would take a hug though because I was so grateful to see him up and walking around! He smiled and said that would have to do he supposed. And to think I gave up a bag of homegrown tomato's to not violate my ethics clause and these judges are absolutely corrupt taking lavish trips, and all sorts of things. They should be kicked off the SC immediately AND disbarred. Where has decency gone? Why do people not know how to act anymore?

Politicians are voted in. They can simple lose an election or be voted out. These judges are appointed for LIFE... There is no possibility to be removed outside of being impeached for extreme unethical cases, retirement or death.

That's the problem, Supremes can only be impeached and convicted by Congress. They are not bound by any code of ethics and each individual justice makes the sole decision on whether to recuse. It needs changing to make them accountable. This is *not* what the Founders envisioned... One last thought, serving for life in the times of the Founders was generally a much shorter time than it is today...

I work for a financial institution. We have to get preclearance for personal political donations We might want to make, and we have to submit requests for approval before we can SPEND more than $25 per head on a wholesaler or client meal. Furthermore, we are FORBIDDEN to take gifts of any kind over $10. So why in the world does our SCOTUS not have to be held accountable to similar rules and standards?

The Constitution requires that Alito & Thomas should be removed. The Constitution says that the justices shall serve "while during good behavior." Both of those justices have accepted bribes from people who had cases before the court - and they both have committed treason; Alito has flown pro-insurrection flags at two of his properties giving comfort and aid to enemies of the United States; Thomas's money was used to bus terrorists to Washington to attack the Capitol. Bribery & treason are not "good behavior." The Chief Justice should require them to resign, or the House & Senate should remove them.
Those two Democrats need to be INVESTIGATED and prosecuted
