Very good review! Can this locomotive take points at shunting speed? How does the axle distance compare to the Pecket W4? I am considering to buy the green version but I am a bit hesitating. Greetings from a new subscriber 🙋♂️ Erik
Hi, I have done some measuring of the wheel base compared with the W4 and they are almost identical with the Ruston having an ever so slightly longer wheel base. The performance over point work at realistic speeds is ok but occasionally the loco does cut out but it is very minimal. Thanks for Subscribing.
@@smrtrains Sorry for asking about the price I got used to Samstrains reviews but the UK prices bare no relation to what we pay here in Oz or NZ. That’s why the Peckets and Rustons were a good buy at under $200. Can remember when a big 4-6-2 loco cost under $200, c2010/2012, ho hum!
No worries, I'm more than happy to include prices in the videos. I was planning to start including more info like that anyway as I know it can be helpful. The 2010s were the best time to by locomotives, I was only a beginner back then so I missed out on some good deals but thankfully from time to time some do still pop up.@@denishilder3124

A bit more info would be nice RRP and Hornby model number, please. Otherwise nice review.
Thanks for commenting, I will try to include a bit more to do with the cost and product code in future videos. Glad you enjoyed it.
