When I was younger I hadn’t yet developed the musical maturity to listen to her. Now hearing her for the first time in a very long time and I am like OMG what a talent
Rickie Lee has a beautiful video of her song "Satellites", which is very Christmasy, and very ice dance-like (from Scissorhands). Her cover of "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" is beautiful too. "Stick It Into Coolsville" is one of her coolest songs. Thank Ken, Lexi and Dwight, I mean Nick.
Mahalo nui! (many thanks! in Hawaiian) Rickie Lee recorded this in Maui at Walter Becker's studio. The "fairground" setting was quite a stark juxtaposition to the "plagues in the air" terror of the HIV/AIDS crisis of the late 1980s. (Jusr think about who the "chicken-headed man" represented at the time . . . . ) I appreciate your recognition of Rickie Lee's genius.
I had the biggest crush on Rickie Lee back in the late 70's and 80's! Her first album was just full of instant hits like, Last Chance Texaco, Chuck E's in Love, and my favorite, Danny's All Star Joint!🥰🎵🎶 (highly recommended for a reaction, btw)😄👍👍
A great request Ken an amazing album produced by the late Walter Becker of Steely Dan. It was great to watch Nick nLex’s facial expressions when the ethereal vocal harmonies come in. ❤️❤️
Mahalo, friend. Walter and Rickie Lee accomplished some astounding, mind-bending productions on Maui at a time when both of them were raw and vulnerable, but each with their own personal need to express a bittersweet parting . . . .
Una canción sutil e íntima! Sí se oía como un instrumento de viento, pero también a veces agregan esos efectos desde el teclado, aunque no sé cual podría ser... Gracias por compartirlo!

Her debut album is a masterpiece.
Pirates her second album is stunning, jazz, funk, unique style.
Ken this was a great choice! Great feeling and harmonies!
Rickie is a treasure. Her ballads can break your heart. Thank you for sharing this one.

Always here for Rickie !! Thanks Ken, Nick and Lex. "Flying Cowboys" is a great album, although my favorite is her earlier EP "Girl At Her Volcano"
Stories… RLJ ❤
Lucky to have been up close to watch her perform 😊
I loooooove RLJ and heard about her first here a couple years ago.
On her next album Pop Pop, she covered the Hendrix song "Up From The Skies".
TEENA MARIE - IT MUST BE MAGIC 🔥🔥🔥
Walter Becker produced this album!
A 'Dan' connection! Yeah Baby!
Yes he did!
I've owned Flying Cowboys since it came out and have enjoyed it immensely. I think Atlas Marker is my favorite cut.
Hey, am I no 1 today??
