- Would you like to go on an epic road trip through Northern Spain and get the best tips on what to eat, see and do from a native Spaniard? Then, keep on watching!
¡Hola! 🙋♀️🙋♂️
We are a Spanish&Turkish couple who travels to a lot of different locations in Spain and love sharing our experiences as well as some useful information and local tips on accommodation, tourist attractions and most importantly, what to eat & where to eat!
In this vlog we are sharing with you our fifth day on the road during which we visited three amazing destinations: Covadonga, Cudillero and Playa de las Catedrales.
🚗 In Covadonga, we first take you to see the natural beauties of Covadonga from a bird's eye view. Then, we visit the tiniest sanctuary carved on the side of a mountain with the most spectacular & calming view. Afterwards, we visit the astonishing Basilica of Saint Mary, with the statue of the national hero, Don Pelayo.
🚗 In Cudillero, we see the most colorful town in Northern Spain that we have ever seen, enjoy some local delicacies and shop!
🚗 In Playa de las Catedrales, we are in the awe-inspiring "Beach of the Cathedrals" or "Beach of the Holy Waters" with its naturally formed arches and secret caves. A truly unforgettable place.
🚗 Finally, we finish our tour in La Coruña (or A Coruña) with a nice lunch and a walk around the Tower of Hercules with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean!
🚗 We also give you tips on where and what to eat, what is "menu del dia" and why you should look for it and a lot of information on local delicacies. Yum!
We hope that this video will get you excited and help you plan your epic trip to Spain! Stay tuned for the rest of our Northern Spain road trip episodes and some breathtaking destinations (that are also mostly unknown!) We will share them all with you in the upcoming episodes of this series!

I just discovered your videos and love them. My family is planning a trip to Spain, first time traveling outside of USA to my grandparents' birthplace.
We are interested in Northern Spain. Only have 16 days. Will consider your recommendations.
What type of auto did you rent? We also considered trains but that gets a bit chaotic with transfers. I hope to travel to Turkey some day.
Thank you and God bless you.
Hi Isabel! Thanks a lot for your comment and support :) 16 days would definitely be optimal for an exciting road trip to discover the beautiful north, some if its hidden gems, enjoy its chilled weather, relaxed lifestyle and mind blowing gastronomy . I would advise you to start in Bilbao/ San Sebastian if there is a convenient flight from where you live. A car is a must, since relying on public transport and trains would be time consuming. Any size car will give you the freedom you need, the road network is phenomenal in Spain. I wouldn't miss the destinations we show in our video series, starting in San Sebastian in the Basque Country, passing through the regions of Cantabria, Asturias and ending in Galicia. We did our trip in 10 days/9 nights, then back to Madrid. Hope it helps to get you started with the planning . Safe and happy travels! :)
Lovely video - hope to go there this year 👍
Thank you! Hope you enjoy your trip!
Im from Asturias, we don't name it as a zuecos, the name is madreñas,
Need more English for English speaking viewers. Nice views.
OK, we'll take it into consideration for our next videos. Thank you for the comment! :)
