    Colion. I´m from Mendoza, Argentina. Bersa it´s the biggest firearms manufacturer in Argentina and the second in Latin America. I know from a good source, close to the company that a lot of resources and ideas were put into the TPR series, along with the BP series were designed thinking about the american shooter, the needs and the preferences. Thank you for review. You got a lot of fans here in Argentina.

      Viva ARGENTINA!!! Bersa is the most beautiful design with the most ideal features:
      It's DA/SA trigger function and weighting is ideal, the safety/decocker is ideal and not obtrusive yet fully employable the way i prefer. I'm happy that Bersa rejects the silly glocky trigger tabs and the 1911 grip safety. I hope they stay away from any magazine disconnect nonsense.
      Bersa accuracy, style, design, features, and the way she feels in my hands draws my heart back to Argentina, especially VG.
      I so dearly miss mi muher hermosa. TAM... siempre.

    Bersa may well be the most under appreciated, under rated firearm on the market. I own the Thunder. 380, the BP9cc, and the TPR.40
    All solid, reliable, accurate, great triggers out of the box, and each one under $350.
    Bersa is PHENOMENAL. Seriously.

    I saw the Bersa TPR9c yesterday for the first time. My brother purchased one and had already been to the firing range with it a few days before. He's retired from State law enforcement and has owned and fired numerous firearms in his career. He said he was impressed with this Bersa TPR9c and really liked the trigger pull. I'm definitely going to look for one in the next few weeks!

      My first pistol I purchased at 58 yo last August was this Bersa TPR9c. Looked at several at the store including Glocks, but for the money loved the weight & feel in my hand. & came with 2 mags. Having fired it, I have to agree with Colin for all the aspects of this model with recoil, etc. I have no remorse with this pistol.

    Good review. "Age of striker fired pistols", I get that. My first semi-auto pistol experience was in the U.S. Army Military Police, the 1911a1. It was difficult to shoot at first but once it became familiar I enjoyed carrying and trusting it for the next 4 years. It spoiled me to the hammer semi-autos, as well as my trust in the service revolvers in my years in Police work. Double action..no sweat. Striker guns are ok., but I don't have the same feeling (trust?) with them. I think the Bersa TPR9C will be my next gun purchase.

  • @garyhendershot9153
    @garyhendershot9153 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Good to see you finally discovered one of the most overlooked pistols on the market. Its no CZ or H&K, but its a great gun. I just wish some of the holster manufacturers would make some good holsters for it. It also has a frame lock that lets you disable the pistol if you need to secure the weapon someplace where you can't maintain positive control. I've never used it, but its a feature you didn't mention. Safety/decocker, block safety, and frame lock. Lots of safety features. It has good sights, but if you want, you can upgrade to Sig sights. The trigger is awesome, specially when you compare it to any other pistol in this price range. 13 +1 isn't bad in a compact pistol... I'd love to see an in depth review on this one.

  • @BigSaulo

    I just got a tpr9c with the threaded barrel. I put a hk mini comp on it. I also took it apart and did a light polish on the trigger, sear, slide, hammer where it touches the slide, and hammer spring bar. I cut 2 coils on the hammer spring, and replaced the trigger spring with a beretta 92 spring. The beretta spring look pretty close to the stock one, and goes right in. It's a bit thinner, and helps lighten the trigger pull.
    I did all this before shooting it. Took it to the range today and compared it to my beretta m9, with the 16 lbs hammer spring. Man was I surprised! The trigger was super smooth, reset very short, and with the recoil was less than my beretta! Maybe the mini comp helped with recoil, but I was surprised with how little recoil it had. It's my first bersa, and wouldn't hesitate to get another! Great value for the money.

    Great review! This is the first time I watch one of your videos, and I really liked the originality. Walking around, with a cameraman following you makes it as if we are walking next to you and it really gives the idea of the shooting, by watching it from a lot of different angles, by watching the recoil, the aim, the sound. Also you make good points on things that are not often talked about such as the hammer making you bleed (in this case not), or the ergonomy of the safety/decocker or the other levers, describing that sometimes those levers can get in the way, but in this case nevertheless being of size, they show you where tu put your palms and thumbs with flow. And many other points than you don't hear in every video around, so congratulations man! Really enjoyed the video, good luck!

    Colion, I liked this review more than your previous ones. Usually you review with the voice over, talking about an Italian sports car. This was more straight forward, hitting the talking points, while having first impressions on the range. You also kind of had that Wesley Snipes swagger from Blade or Demolition Man as you were testing all of the attributes of the pistol and comparing it to other similar firearms. You also gave an impression of Robocop or ED-209 where you are marching for a destination, only turning at the waist to put lead on targets that present themselves.

    I bought a Bersa Thunder in .380 a while back and loved the safety features (which were comparable to Beretta's 92F in placement and operation) and totally agree that Bersa produces a pretty fine / smooth pull in the Double Action mode, I also like the sights on the gun, they are compact and quite easy to point with. Have to admit that TPR9c really looks like a very nice, relatively compact 9mm. Bersa's are usually pretty reasonably priced too. Great video!

  • @ernestdement4869
    @ernestdement4869 6 ปีที่แล้ว +39

    The rail isn't proprietary and it uses Sig sights so you can upgrade the sights. It weighs about as much as a Glock 19. I think it just seemed heavier because it balances differently since it's da/sa. Bersa doesn't get the attention that it had in the earlier part of the new millenium but they do actually make very nice guns. I'm kind of a stubborn "if it isn't American then it's shit" type of a guy but I used to own a Bersa Thunder 380 and loved it and I'm thinking I might pick one of these bad boys up. I love the look of it.

      Prototype 777 I’m more of the type of “If these guys don’t know how to wage war, they don’t know how to build a tool of war”. That rule of thumb has held up for me. I had a bersa thunder in .380 a while back. Every other mag was a FTFeed. Then something in the trigger broke around 400~ rounds. If you like them, more power to you, I think Bersa is charging too much for their guns, which as far as I know, aren’t in service with anyone

    Agree with your assessment of this pistol - Bersa stepped it up on this one. It even fits perfectly in a DeSantis SuperFly pocket holster. As you noticed, it's the perfect weight as it provides enough heft for recoil reduction but is light enough even for pocket carry. For me, the very short reset and the ambidextrous decocker/safety make it ideal for urban carry.

    I have one and I absolutely love it! I agree with everything this man is saying. It's my favorite, but I don't use it as my daily I have a G2C for that. Because if I have to use it, it will be confiscated and I would rather have a cheaper one for that to happen to than my Bersa! Stay safe everyone!!!

      GUNPOWDER PHILOSOPHY You won't be sorry. Its everything the reviews say it is. The TPR9C is my carry now. I have a Taurus PT111 G2C as a back up and its actually a reliable and lot better pistol than its price reflects. The smooth flat shooting TPR9C though is way better in just about every way especially the outstanding trigger. The full rails and the great trigger make it smooth and flat. It is very close to the same size as the G2C and only a slight bit heavier.

    I absolutely adore this gun. I bought one of the first ones in Kentucky, and I can carry the gun anywhere from 1 o'clock to 4 o'clock and it disappears (especially now that I'm losing weight).
    I have a tendency to let my hand ride up and get hammer bite, but I'm hoping (again) that the weight loss is going to lower that chance too.
    The only "regret" I have is not waiting for the stainless version, and I may go back and fix that eventually.

    I just remember you describing the TRP 1911 trigger as “It’s like pushing on glass. And then the glass breaks.” Just hands down 1911 feel is amazing. But I’m sure most decent hammer fired guns will have a good trigger. But the 1911 is what some of our glock guys chase for a trigger feel.

    When it comes to low budget guns, it is really hard to beat Bersa. I used to carry a glock, but needed something that was easy for my wife to handle and more concealable. I switched to a Bersa Thunder years ago, basically a Walther PPK knock off, and haven't looked back. I'm going to check out these newer ones for something with a few more round capacity

      You have the thunder plus in 380 which is 15 rounds. Albeit the grip is thicker, but if it is for you then that might work. If not, this same TPR9C holds 13+1 in 9mm which is more than enough to get the job done imo

    If you ever watched the video of that officer who blowed is thingy off with his Stryker fire I think a hammer would tend to grow on you because you’d know when the hammer is down and can still be double action on first pull for just such safety. Just 2cents, nothing more.

    I would say the reason people don’t like the “chamber indicator” is because
    1: it’s worthless in low light situations.
    2: can give you a false indication ie brass shaving inside or debris blocking
    3: you’re doing a press check anyway, therefore eliminating the need for it.
    Just my opinion and information that I have gathered from military and law enforcement experience.

    I wanted a TPR, but was much easier to get a Taurus. The Taurus is OK, it feeds, extracts and ejects; always. But... maybe the trigger is bad or it's just my hand that hates the ergonomy of this pistol. I still want to try a Bersa. I don't like when I have no option to lock and keep the hammer cocked, but... some guns work this way.
