A bev consists of a heat pump heating/cooling system + simple electric motors + simple chassis + software. Do we agree the complexity of modern ice vehicles powertrain in order to get any reasonable mpg and emissions is super complex and super complex to repair. Also the ice vehicle business model is based on regular visits to dealership service centers. Do we think that business model is sustainable when buyers want vehicles that just run without need to visit service centers?

@@myusrn Those electric motors are highly specialized to be able to run at such a high power and efficiency, and are powered by very complex electronic circuits that are extremely fragile due to the high voltage and current they must output to those motors. The battery packs are also complex so that all the hundreds of batteries charge evenly, because if one battery fails and reverse charges, it will blow up. Not to mention the computers that run the things. There is nothing simple about an EV.

He thought gas gauge wasn't working.
After having it ck'd 6 times by the dealer. They found that an experimental carburetor. Installed by mistake. Ford wanted truck back. He wouldn't give it back. He had to make a deal when he was ready to sell Ford was first in line to buy. To hide this technology.

I drove a friend's BYD Song in Shanghai and it's super high-quality and well-manufactured. Their EV cars, regardless of how one feels about this market, are pretty top notch. They're really trying to prove something in their manufacturing by breaking stereotypes and I respect that. They got that efficiency thing going with all their industries, not just EV cars. Given the air pollution issues that use to plague major cities, I see EV cars becoming mainstay vehicles in the country. Still prefer my Subaru though, lol. But if I were to relocate there for work, I'd go EV as they have the infrastructure for this.

Scotty's right about read your electric utility's policy for 'buying' your generated electricity BEFORE you planning adding solar and incurring all those costs. Here is SE MN, my utility will only square with your annual consumption at their wholesale cost and reset your electric account each year to 0. So, if you had surplus they restart the counter each year. So, you still pay the utility's base costs, which is a large part of my bill. The only way to possibly make solar work is to disconnect from the utility, so, you're on your own. Re-connection fees must be also considered. They can be quite high. A lot of homework needs to be done and be sure of the costs. Panels are usually rated for 10 years, etc.

I saw a Cyber Truck for the first time yesterday. It’s in the style of Demolition Man in my opinion.

I saw one in NJ about a month ago. Without question the ugliest vehicle I've ever seen.

@@JamesAgansYeah I saw one also for the first time last week and it reminded me of a tin box on wheels and is by far one of the ugliest trucks I’ve ever seen.

They made America great once upon on time after WWII. After we got rid of them, American companies started outsourcing our jobs faster than you could say union.

Remember when the auto makers said the new UAW contract was going to cost $957 per car? I guess that means the executives and board are taking the other $19000 price increases on their F150.
Venture Capital is what’s wrong with America- they’ve turned great manufacturers into companies who don’t want to build cars…but we wanna sell your information to the insurance companies, or charge you a subscription for heated seats…..

Tariffs are what actually enforce labour and environmental laws. Without tariffs, all laws are circumvented. Ideally, a federal government is supported solely via tariffs and not income taxes, especially as it is the money left after taxes that an individual is actually willing to work for.

That stuff happens here in Canada too, you didn't buy your car here and don't want to warranty anything for any brand. then when you actually bring it back to the original dealership and they say it isn't that bad yet. Yup I have the hemi tick and ticked that now I'm out of warranty they are willing to check it out

Find a better dealership, if you go to a major city, you can find a good Chrysler dealership if you call around and do research. I had to go to 3 before I found a good one in Calgary.
