I just love the fact that Dean Martin doesn’t even try to hide his laughter. He’s just enjoying being in the moment and could care less about breaking character.
You can tell from Deans reactions that he doesn't always know what Foster is going to do... or how he looks. Hilarious stuff. Foster never breaks character he was a genius :)
I’m 33 years old and my mom introduced me to all the amazing comedy duos and teams of the old days. Marx brothers, Laurel and hardy, Abbott and Costello, Martin and Lewis. Hope and Crosby. And my uncle told me about this guy. Oh man the laughs. Comedy gold
The tears of laughter would just roll down my Dad's face whenever Foster Brooks was on with Dean Martin. He also loved everything Harvey Korman and Tim Conway did on the Carol Burnett show.
Tim Conway and the guy who usually play opposite of him (forgot his name) have such great chemistry that it makes me laugh. They are two hilarious peas in a pod. They don't make 'em like they used to!
My dad also got a big kick out of them. I can remember watching these shows with him when I was too young to drive so this is what we would watch. I laughed along although I didn't always quite get the humor. Those memories make watching these types of videos very special.

Dean Martin never, Ever, laughed as HARD as he did, around anyone, but Foster Brooks. The Chemistry between those two was utterly amazing! Several times they would veer off script, and do the whole segment by improvising, actually bringing the laughing Audience to tears! They'll never be Pure and Clean Comedy like that again.
I'd heard that Dean never rehearsed and everything he did was off teleprompters. It's wonderful to watch him just totally breakup over some of FB's comebacks. True genius that couldn't be gotten away with today. I love the older shows.

Yes, Thursday night but the last season was on Friday night and why? We use to have sleepovers me and a few other guys and when our parents were watching this show, we went out running the streets having fun in 1974 Santa Paula Ca.....I was 9 years old!

Foster Brooks didn't drink, but he played the drunk to perfection. Martin loved his comedy which was why he was on his TV shows so often and his celebrity roasts. Because of all this PC bullshit, we will never see their likes again. As for Martin, with comics like brooks and winters he wouldn't rehearse because he wanted his reactions to be true and honest.

It's nice to see the other comics & actors in the closing moments of this clip. So many folks that made us laugh (or cry) who we've forgotten about. William Shakespeare wouldn't have been remembered if he hadn't been 1/1000th as funny.

Back in the 60s, we had entertainment. Watching these shows made people feel better. It made life better. Most of the shows of today, even the ones that are supposed to be funny aren't entertaining. They're crap.
