**PRO TIP** always twist the carb! NEVER THE CABLE! Twisting the cable will result in tightening that coiled guard around the cable thus in return causing sticky/frayed throttle!!!!!
Wow thanks for the vid, mine needed a solenoid and did the same stupid idle great revs wide open great deal this 4 wheeler was doing. I cleaned the carb and it still did it. Then I saw this video, and I was like, great! Now I know how to fix it. Thanks!
This is crazy because I was gonna do the same thing u were gonna do but when I open mine up my needle only had one slot it didn’t have 4 or 5 like yours did mine only had one and my 400 kinda back fires
Six sigma and dynojet give you needle shims you put two needle shims for every height that you have to go you can't go leaner you can only go richer with that kind of needle
@@lovemychop well I was just referring to the no adjustment needle it only has one setting it doesn't have five. You don't want to drop the needle because that makes it more leaner if you want to make it richer which everybody recommends you have to raise the needle and that's where the shims come to play I'm not sure what you was talking about that was just before it to the needle adjustment.. I have a 2001 400EX that has a no adjustment needle and they recommend putting two shims underneath the eclip to raise the needle to make it richer..

I have the white brothers e series pipe aswell and I would reccomend putting the needle right in the middle and finding some of the "fins"of the muffler and adding to the one you have currently. U have 11 find in my muffler and it's honestly the best tune I've found for the bike. I've been riding that exact setup for about 12 years now.
@@bryan_trades8867 Either the adjustment nut on the 90 degree fitting for the cable going into the carb is adjusted wrong, you didn't get the cable fully seated into that half moon looking thing under the side cover for the carb, or you twisted the idle screw (big screw with a flathead slit in it on the bottom of the carb, visible from the left side of the bike) while taking the bowl off. i think that its most likely the last one though. its the most simple fix too. take a flathead and twist it to the left 2 or 3 full rotations and then try starting it. if its still idling high then keep turning it until its to where its supposed to be. thats just my guess, knowing nothing else.
@@MeachPango i didnt take the throttle cable out all the way since one of the cover screws was completely stripped so i just left it on while i cleaned the carb could that have messed up the cable?
Everything I have looked at mentions that needle and those different settings. My needle doesn't have those settings. I bought a rebuild kit and the new needle also didn't have them. Am I just the only one?
every one i have seen has groves on the needle for the clip to set in for adjustment, but there might be some out there that are none adjustable? I'm Not sure on that one
Every time I try to watch this video all I get is a spiral turning and turning and turning it no never let me watch the video what is wrong with this video that you can't watch it it's like a spinning clock in the middle of the frame it don't even play it don't matter if I reset my computer reset my phone it's like that all the time what is wrong with this video

Just remember down with the clip is more gas and up is less. On every carb that’s made for a single cylinder engine.

I recently pulled my carb for a quick clean all i took off was the float bowl now when i turn it on it revvs up almost full throttle any idea?

for the main jet the part with the nut on it am i supposed to tighten it all the way down then tighten the nut down

Hey my 400 starts not idling and running rough when it warms up.
Those damn little clips are called jesus clips ya know why? Cause you pry them off and they go flying and you yell out "jesus"
IF YOU PUT IT IN THE 2ND FROM THE TOP IT GUVES IT MORE FUEL DOESN'T?
I think it gets it last full since it drop the needle down further.
Not sure though just a guess. Maybe his problem was too much fuel.
It's just makes the mixture leaner 1 super lean 2 lean 3 neutral 4 rich 5 super rich.

No my need only has one siding but when you buy a dynojet kit or six sigma they give you shims but it only makes it where you can richer not leaner
