After ambushing a small warband of orcs from the Crack Toof Clan, Yarik realses a survivor with a message of challenge for their leader. Warboss Brogg "Porkchoppa", always up for a good scrap, gathers the tribes to meet the beasts in battle. Ready to prove himself the meanest and the greenest.

I love the narration! Everything about your video screams time and dedication. Your upbeat personality is infectious and you always make everyone's day. Bravo sir! bravo!
Thank you so much 🤗
Damon is my favorite lad. The guest of the guest. I feel like the greenskins are the unironic good guys in this fight.
Damon deployed in ambush for the intro...
Hahahaha! 🤣
Amazing battle between the green and the beasts!! Awasome!!🤘🤘
Remember that "warband" rule for the Orc Mobs ("...if the majority of the models in a unit have this special rule, it may re-roll its Charge roll.") It could may had helped El Gigante... but they do the job against the charriot!
Always great to see Damon battling, specially since he's narrative like at 1:52:00 he didn't hesitate summoning a chaos vortex since playing chaos means the more chaos in the table the more fun you get 😂
I'm a simple man... I see Damon's Beastmen and I automatically press like
They are indeed a beautiful herd!
Damon is a legend! Always a pleasure to see him on the channel. Great batrep as always. I hope one day we can see someone bring Ogres to the table for more bestial barbarity
What a perfect way to start the weekend I'm still so confused about old world, but just looking at these beautiful armies makes up for it!
Good to see Damon and Gorgonzola the cheesy ghorgon back on the battlefield! Narrated intro, music, new turn intro, you keep adding good stuff Stos including GG Gorgeous George.
Hell yeah dude! First person to mention the new turn intro thingy. Glad you like it mate! 😄
The production quality keeps getting better, but your enthusiasm is as contagious as always. Kudos!
Thanks so much dude!! 😄
41.45 "Before he knew it... Goblin." 🤣🤣🤣
Stos has brought us a new battle report! This is the best hangover recovery I could ask for
Absolutely! My gintonic hangover disappeared when i saw there was a new battle report from Stos! Long live to warhammer!
What a great matchup. good to see these two agressive armies leaning into their strengths without falling into tournament cheese
as for 1:11:15 : I'm pretty confident it was played correctly. i.e., the pursuit/overrun is not slowed down, but they still have to make a dangerous terrain check and the template stays there until it moves.
anti-spoiler zone:
And what a great first showing for gorgeous george!
Cheers champion! Thanks for weighing in on the overrunn situation. Stoked you enjoyed the game and army compositions!! 😁
I believe that excellent Jabberslythe was made by Blood Moon Minis. Unfortunately, it's out of production.
Also: a vortex stays when units walks upon them, that's why they're often difficult and/or dangerous terrain. Weirdly vortexes doesn't do their magical effects if it walked upon, only when it moves by its own. (Rulebook, VoC as example, page 323)
Also also: didn't matter this game but as a charge target that's already locked in combat can't choose to flee it doesn't need to roll a terror test. (Rulebook page 179)
Also also also: While it's more fun a "damned by chaos" result doesn't make a model suffer a failed stupidity check, it simply gives it the Stupidity rule for the rest of the game. A unit only needs to roll a single time regardless on how many Stupid models it contains and while it's boring a failed stupidity check says it can moves up to its M which means it can move 0. (RH page 116)
Also also also also: Strike last set a models I to 1 before modifiers which means it gets the I bonus from charging. (Rulebook page 178)
Thanks for the heads up on the Stupidity rule I’ll have to make sure I get it right in future.
I think you're right about the Jabberslythe being the Blood Moon Minis "Jabberwocky" mini.
@damonb4505 I was eying the same model back in the days for my own Beastmen project but in the end I ended up with GWs own
Warboss Brogg "Porkchoppa" is just awesome! I haven't watched the video yet, but I would follow that Waaaaaaaaaaagh!
Cheers dude! He's a proper gnarly boy for sure!
Wow! Just finished watching this in full; fantastic as always! Let's address the elephant in the room, Damon's biggest mistake was leaving "Barakgore" (the one true Beastmen leader!) at home, he would never stand for that BSB's nonsense! In all honesty, I'm struggling to identify what actually went wrong for the Beastmen; one strong turn of Orc and Goblin magic and shooting really swung this one because up until that point he looked to be in the stronger position. Shame we didn't get to see the black orcs in combat, but those boar boyz definitely pulled their weight
What a spicy batrep! Love to see the Giant and Jabberslythe respectively.
Couple of rules things to note:
Monsters (and Heavy Chariots) have the Lumbering special rule, allowing a free pivot of up to 90 degrees at the end of their move. Quite early on there was a point where the Jabberslythe flew over the river but didn’t have enough movement to wheel to see what it wanted to, but it could have made a free pivot at the end of its move.
Each player always gets a fated dispel every turn, including in their own turns, which allows you to try to make a fated dispel on a vortex cast by the opponent even if you’re out of dispel range with your wizard(s).
Hope they help! 🙂
Good catch with the Lumbering rule - I’ll have to remember that one in future. Cheers!
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it. You can only do the lumbering 90⁰ pivot if you haven't charged marched or fled. So in this case, wouldn't have helped.
@ sorry - hadn’t realised it had marched! You’re absolutely right. Looking forward to the next video!
Fantastic Old World Battle Report! Beautiful models!
You guys were definitely having lots of fun while playing and it shows through in the video.
One thing of note; a unit stuck in hth combat can only hold from a charge reaction and therefore does not have to make a terror test
Cheers for watching and thanks for the heads up on the rule. 😎
Very fun swingy game! Damon’s such a good sport too, really nice to see a player with such a good attitude.
He’s a good egg indeed!
That’s the best giant model GW has ever produced. Just large enough, not too busy, no-nonsense. Tombstone tied to a stick. I just spent a chunk of my paycheck on eBay for one!
Here’s a sneaky thing for you - It’s a milestone, not a tombstone! I guess the giant plans to show you the way!
@@kwest9747 He's just telling you how far you've got to go.
I like him too and he does rather show up the likes of Ghorgonzola for being too big. Can't imagine ever leaving the Marauder Giant camp though when it comes to 'best'.
Yes, I didn’t want to disparage the tastes of cuddlemuffin44 and Stos but as you mention it the Marauder Minis giant is the objective best giant in every and any conceivable way.
I love your battle reports! Thanks for creating it and sharing it!
Most welcome mate!
Great battle! I cant wait for more.
Great game as always! Hope I can visit and play sometime from the US! Quick thing I noticed so far: according to the FAQ hagtree fetish doesn't allow you to re-roll bound spells like RRoR.
Gorgeous George! 😂 haha, epic name on that giant! He totally looks like gorgeous george from snatch to. 😅 Love that old 6th ed sculpt, imho the best giant they made!
YES! I knew someone would get the reference!! 💯
Vortex of chaos...surprisingly a vortex lol love it
Classic times! 🤣
Looks like I was re-rolling failed wounds with the Ruby Ring due to the Hagtree Fetish, which is a no-no....and I did know this , but all I can say is the heat of battle and creeping senility made me completely forget. Mea culpa!
All good mate. I knew it too and still didn't think twice when you rerolled them! 😅
It makes up for the toys being thrown out of the pram over Viletide. Cmon, we know you didn't use it because he had a cry about it 😉
😭
@rogueelementgaming legend has it, you're still crying to his day... I recommend hydration
Go sharpen a knife 😜
I'd say that the -1 pursuit move would apply because you're trying to stay cohesive as a unit while a fleeing unit is breaking up with everyone running for their lives. Just my tuppence. Enjoying the batrep 😂
Im not really that deep into the rules of ToW, but to my understanding you played the Droger pursuit thing correctly. I also think you played the template staying under the unit correctly. I seem to recall the Mountain channel playing it like that, and they are probably some of the most well versed on the ToW rules by now, id imagine.
Personally im not sure I actually like ToW that much, mostly because the rules seems to make the game real finniky.. Please bring back 6th ed! The king of editions! 👑😀
Great BR! A lot of the Orc units have Warband, so you can reroll failed charge rolls, I think. Would have come in handy in several situations! :)
Bugger! Defs forgot some warband rerolls!!
Love it! Love me some Orcs n Gobbos.....and not forgetting the filthy moo cows 😉
Stos and Damon, a clash between two absolute legends! Always love to see the beasty boys on the channel, even though I definitely prefer 6th edition battles. The only plus of TOW is that it allows good cheesy Gorgonzola to be on stage, he's awesome!
Thanks for watching Alessandro!
I have not seen a response on this yet. The -1 only affects the movement characteristic. If the movement is the result of a dice roll, the -1 does not affect it.
A unit can stay on top of a vortex when it is static (unless it is impassable terrain)
You played it correctly :)
Those poor big'uns could have rerolled their charge roll with warband :(
The black orcs could not reform before following up, they could only do a turn which would have left them in 3 models-wide front and a bus behind it :D Still the right choice though!
Awesome, thanks for weighing in on these mate!
Great battle again sir! Love the content - Two things I noticed, I believe you can dispel a vortex if you're out of range, but only with the fated dispel. And I think you mentioned the razorgor had swifttride, so it would have made the pursuit.
Thanks mate! Yep forgot both these things. Woops!
Amazing, as always :)
Great batrep, the armies and table look amazing. Worth noting, the Hagtree Fetish doesn't affect the Ruby Ring of Ruin as it's a bound spell. *Edit, also the Orc Chariots have Warband, so you can re-roll your charges, as does most of the Orc and Goblin Tribes army list.
Good catch! Haha, I'll have to keep that in mind for next time.
great game guys :) i saw a mistake at 1h13min: the impact hit can only be resolved if the charging movement is 3 or more... so the charriot and razorgot can't have it ;)
Good video as ever, always a pleasure to see Damon play and you always choose great armies.
Lots of minor rules errors and this doesn't matter that much in itself - quite a few of them had no effect and others got corrected as you went along etc. And in general I would rather watch you two play with some mistakes than watch most others play the 'perfect' game. However, it is fairly obvious that the two of you are still sort of playing 6th Ed in your heads and aren't connected to what the dice rolls mean in terms of outcomes until you go through working it out. The emotional connection isn't there in the same way as when you're playing 6th as things stand and this is funnily enough a bit infectious - watching it I'm expecting 6th things to happen and have to remind myself all the time in a way I don't when watching other Old World. I guess this will change as you play the new edition more, but just at the moment I think your games of 6th are still going to be way better regardless of which is the better ruleset.
I also thought this game was a very poor advert for the Old World magic system. Really don't like every spell getting rolled every turn in a straight 2D6 roll-off in this way. Magic still very important (even if it was mainly just in the one turn), but horribly dull and monotonous. Not a criticism of you guys in any way of course.
I totally agree on the magic system. Still my number 1 issue with the rule set.
My 40K ork stompa is named ROBOGEORGE after my son who in turn is named after his Greek grandfather 🇬🇷
Hello,
Nice game as usual.
Few things i saw:
Turn 1 : The jabberslythe can’t march and shoot
Turn 2 : the chariot doesn’t have a LOS on the razorgor to charge so doesn’t need to test impetuous. He can’t charge actually…
I thought he said the jabberslythe had move and shoot. That ignores march restrictions.
The Jabberslythe certainly does have the Move &Shoot special rule, so can indeed shoot if it’s marched.
Glad you enjoyed it bud.
Chariots can draw line of sight through Wolf Riders, as they have the "Chariot Runners" special rule.
If there is one thing I can't stand, it's that so many character models hold their weapons directly under the blade and not properly by the handle. Not just in fantasy and Old World, but also in 40k
fantastic matchup
Damon was not present in the intro as he is still waiting to ambush you in the next turn
Ha!
The Boar Chariot in turn two did not need to roll for Impetuous as it could not see anything, I'm pretty sure the Gorgon was too far away and was the only thing they could see. They have to see the target to declare a charge against it, so the charge in and of itself was not legal either.
Boar chariots can draw line of sight and move through wolf rider as they have the "chariot runners" special rule.
@@rogueelementgaming Ah, yes that is true, forgot that. Hard to keep up with all the special rules of all models. ;)
Although, Chariot Runners only work if they are skirmishing, where they really skirmishing at that time?
One other thing I think you did not think about is that you can do fated dispels in your own turn, such as removing vortexes.
May also say I enjoy your battle reports, one of the best on TH-cam in my opinion. Very entertaining to watch with good narration and feeling.
Oh, another thing, in turn three when the Black Orc fought off the Harpies they are not allowed to reform to follow after the Harpies, they only get to turn. If they had been Drilled they could have expanded the front rank but I don't believe they are.
Yeah I forgot the fated dispel on the vortex, and great catch on the no reform for follow up!
You can still draw line of sight through chariot runners even if they're not in skirmish formation. Just can't move through them.
Lovely! Needed something this friday. Always lovely to see Damon too! I prefer 6th Ed still but you make cool TOW-armies and then it is pretty fine.. Can´t stand the minimal units, min-maxing and multiple dragons..
Yeah, the "optimal" army compositions for The Old World aren't really my style.
Extremely interesting Battle, the Chaos Gods had lot of fun with Damon (the Dice Gods), excelent Show, I hope to play my first Battle (in the last 30 Years) at the Start of 2025. In Change a Game of Mordheim I try to play. Thanks for the Entertainment
The laughter of the dice Gods can still be heard echoing across the table.
Amazing modsls and playstyle from both players! One question: why no panic test for razogor after the brave goblin has kill the razogor next to it?
Thanks mate! Destroyed units need to be at least unit str 5 to cause panic. Razogor are "warbeasts" so only unit str 1.
Dang that warboss on pig is a very cool sculpt!! is that 3D print or kitbashed?
3D print from Avatars of War mate. Such a cool model!
Great stuff! The Dragonogres should have given ground after their first combat with Boarboys (and taken template hits); the boars would have taken them also if they followed. EDIT:carried on watching and you figured almost figured it out - you don't have to take a leadership test to decide not to follow up with your black orcs.
You actually do need to test to restrain a follow up just like a pursuit move pg 156 under Restrain and Reform.
@ - sorry man, you’re dead right! Will be more careful before commenting - thanks for taking the time to correct me :-)
Great looking game as always. Appreciate that you guys are bringing big blocks.
Not a fan of how they handled vortex/fanatic/etc movement this edition. Things that “move xD6 in a random direction” actually stay still 1/3 of the time for some reason? Because according to the FAQ the word scatter is implied? It’s lame. Downright offensive for fanatics.
1:12:36 on a related note, vortex spells usually say they deal hits to units the *moving* template touches or moves over, so I don’t think the dragon ogres would have taken hits for moving onto the template beyond the dangerous terrain roll. I don’t necessarily like this but I think that’s how it is.
Hi, just thinking about the pursuit issue, on page 156 it suggests that a unit is unable to move through friendly units or terrain, must mean dangerous terrain also, so maybe the dragon ogres should have moved as far as possible before halting?
Watching in the deer hunting stand while things were slow. Great report. Need to get my Beastmen finished. Would love to come get a game in but it's a long trip across the big water from the US
Question for one and all... Don't the RIP templates only cause damage when they move? If you move on it it's a dangerous terrain test.
Am I reading it wrong?
Cheers! You're right, RIP templates only cause damage when they move. If you ever do decide to hop across the pond, hit me up for sure!
@@rogueelementgaming
Will do. Would love to get a game in.
Winter time here. Going to go to get some ice fishing in this weekend. Already have 6" on some lakes.
1:39:47 Is your home rule to not make give ground after combat? Same qestion for army dispel. You can always try to dispel vortex with army dice.
Where are the dead trees from matey?
Does not the fight have to keep going when opponent gives ground?
FBIGO causes panic i assume ;)
Just a comment to comment and support. :)
OOOOOORKS WAAAAAAAAGH
Why is he not a gigante verde?!
Say whatever you will about Old World-positive or negative-the reduction of magic to just a dice roll is such a bummer. Takes out so much of the, dare I say it, magic?? GW did the same with 40k and it just makes me so sad. Great batrep as always! DAMOOOOO
ToW is just souless, Magic and shooting is boring. I find ToW BR's far less entertaining than the 6th ed battle reports. So many weird rules and one-offs to rememeber for each unit and troop type.
I agree! I miss the old magic system too.
I liked the mini card game in 5th!
@@briane80 Agreed. It's so dull and lifeless compared to 6th.
It says something that Total War Warhammer has a better rendition of the Winds of Magic than TOW. Namely one that actually feels like you’re harnessing an external power source like the lore describes. TOW feels more like it’s just a skill check like something out of Shadowrun.
1:58:00 Jabberslythe should have been hitting on 3s no? #Justice4JibbaJabba
Big Red Raggerty Flag gives +1 WS and combat res. So boar boys were WS 4. #Justiceisserved
@@rogueelementgaming aaaaaah right enough! If only jabber had Long Pink Slippery Tongue special rule for +1WS :(
You should have done a voice-over using the original footage, mimicking Damon's voice 😀
Hahahaha!
Awesome bat rep, Old World is the way forward.
Had visitors for a few days so watching now.. :)
This orc-horde is not too far from my own, current one, having added some some stuff (and sold my horrible 7th Ed NGs!!).. I just need a Giant (having River Trolls instead currently..)
