What are your picks for the men's and women's podiums (and why)?

Loved this episode and am excited for next weekend. Would love to hear a Singletrack quick-hitter on predictions for the 50K as well. I'm racing that one and want to know if you think Brett can get past the Boulder Boys and back onto the podium?!

I'm really rooting for Tara Dower to go to Western States! I think she's been working hard to refine her racing and we already know she has grit. If she can stay upright I think she can have an awesome day at Black Canyon and Western States. Just really stoked to see her racing career develop.

Side note: the Cocodona 250 field is epic this year. Looking forward to seeing how Max Joliffe takes on Courtney Dauwalter. I believe Jamil Coury is entering as well. He’s coming off the epic Strava-Chipotle challenge.

Elko has a massive mining scene. Gold and other minerals... I am from Northern Canada (a mining town) and have friends who were recruited and moved to Elko for work. They have some lovely trails.

There was a pre-race interview she did before her last Javelina that alluded to her coming and doing the Hoka sponsored race out of sponsor race obligations rather than actually wanting to go and race. So that reminded me of the famous Marshawn Lynch interview and I can't help but bring it up from time to time 😅

My complaint is that the ad ratio is too damn high. I get it, you have to pay the bills. I have no complaint with that. But few TH-cams crank it up to > 1 ad every 10 min.

There are at least 4 men in the BC100k field this year with sub 2:20 marathons- Craig Hunt, Tim Tollefson, Cal Neff & Adam Sjolund. Probably a couple more that I'm missing, too.

    • @kellenscott555

@@leah_yingling Craig ran sub 2:20 5 years ago. Tim ran sub 2:20 9 years ago. Cal Neff has NO sub 2:20 result online. Adam is the only runner that has gone sub 2:20 post-COVID. He also has never run a 100k before.

@@kellenscott555 Calum Neff ran 2:19 in Houston in 2024 and 2022. But I think the point was more that to be competitive you have to be in sub 2:20 shape, although most of them are not training and tapering for a road marathon.

@@kellenscott555 a long with those who Leah mentioned has gone sub 2:20, I'm pretty sure my comments were surrounding how those who are competitive in this race all have sub 2:20 potential if they trained for it.
