To force players to prepare shorter, in that case with the serve, I ask them to do a serve really close to the back wall so they have a limitation that forces them to prepare short and find other ways to create power, and understand that the power comes from the core and not just the arm.
I do the same as coach, I ask people to take their phones out to film themselves, to see the "extra unnecessary" movements are NOT aware of ...that's game changer when they see the details that composes a good shot technically and effectively to challenge opponents.
