I personally hate the 3-3-5 scheme....it doesn't create natural pressure unless you have at least 1 outstanding freak LB. It doesn't matter who your CBs or Safeties are if you don't create pressure up front. Who will that freak be this year? One another note, I always thought it was odd that T. Wright and Thompson hit the portal last season. Seems like this would have been their breakout year. Maybe Bonner and Mcbride are better than we think? Lastly, any word about Parker? He has some decent experience, but I don't hear much about him.
For Defensive Line, the obvious choice to take that elite step is Davin Vann. Has all the tools and the build to be an elite player for us this season. But do not sleep on Reb Hibbler and Travali Price. Regarding Wright and Thompson, the LB position, you always have to lean on the fact that Tony Gibson, one of the greatest LB/Def Corr coaches in the country, is their coach. So I have a lot of faith in what he is doing, especially in this season where it is not obvious that we have a guy to Drake Thomas or Payton WIlson's level. But we will see what happens this season. Haven't heard much about Parker, but there is A LOT of competition for EVERY LB Spot. I believe there is a lot of untapped talent in this LB room that will start to show its face this season. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!!!! GO PACK!!!!
I have a STRONG feeling that the Defense this year will actually surprise a LOT of NC State fans. Not saying they are going to be the best in the ACC, but better than the expectations a lot of State fans have for them. WATCH OUT AND GO PACK!

I would try putting four men on the front line from time to time.
The defense was solid last year (20-25 nationally), but not spectacular. That seems like a reasonable expectation this season as well.
