2022. NC State had a better rated defense, more experienced offensive line and a veteran QB with NFL potential. Better to be pleasantly surprised, proven foolish. Qb is a gamer. Nice add.

Nico has had a lot more time to develop chemistry with his receivers than Grayson. But, NC State's secondary is better than Tennessee’s. I think the game will hinge on the chemistry. Grayson has developed or not over the summer and fall with his receivers.

Tennessee has a history of problems with mobile QBs. McCall could look like Stetson Bennett against the Vols, but I'm unclear if he's good past his first read. The other UT question mark is safeties. That could be a huge opportunity for NCSU, but the OL has to be amazing to limit a ridiculously deep Tennessee DL. UT will score >=35. They'll try to land an early haymaker.

My biggest issue with the Rosner experiment was how they used him. Throwing jump balls to 5'10" Lesane while you have 6'7" Rosner catching drags pissed me off beyond belief. He didn't need 50 targets to be impactful, just 3-4 quality targets a game that played to his strengths.

The defense was solid last year (20-25 nationally), but not spectacular. That seems like a reasonable expectation this season as well.

I personally hate the 3-3-5 scheme....it doesn't create natural pressure unless you have at least 1 outstanding freak LB. It doesn't matter who your CBs or Safeties are if you don't create pressure up front. Who will that freak be this year? One another note, I always thought it was odd that T. Wright and Thompson hit the portal last season. Seems like this would have been their breakout year. Maybe Bonner and Mcbride are better than we think? Lastly, any word about Parker? He has some decent experience, but I don't hear much about him.

It may just be my opinion, but I feel as though this NC State team is the best team NC State team. I’ve seen ever even better than Devon Leary teams. I feel as though this year NC State may be able to get over that hump, which is been getting to the ACC championship getting over Clemson, which it looks like they have here lately, but the ACC is the next step Dave dorean got a show he can do that and if not, it’s time to find somebody that can elevate the program
