I'm a chef and to piggy back off that, you can visit your local farmer's market during blueberry season and buy large quantities of them and freeze them in ziplock bags. The taste of locally grown berries will demolish anything trucked in, and the frozen ones have pretty much no deficit in the flavor department.
I think this build is one of the best for getting beyond Act 2, because it combines offensive capabilities nicely with defensive ones. I found in Act 2 the tanky builds worked but it took so damn long to kill anything it wasn't even worth the effort.
Attack speed is also good for your survivability, both for debuff uptime and self-healing through Transcendence (more attack speed=faster spirit generation=faster skill output=faster healing). Been watching your vids, thanks for taking the time to upload them and sharing what works for you. Keep up the good work ^_^
I really like this build.I have been struggling with act 1 thus far even with 21k dps.Dashing strike is really helping me avoid that fire, and the steady small heals from it is nice also.
THANK YOU SO MUCH !! I was struggling with my monk, and i modified mine after watching this video, b4 this i never think of the 3 sec Serenity is useful at all, i was using i use evasion mantra and always include a spirit spender on my right click. Now, same old gear, instead using the bell and the kick as my attack, with Mantra of Conviction and almost all defensive skills, same old gear, now i kill like a champ and survivability is MUCH improved !!!! TYVM
hey thanks for this awesome guide, I found it really useful! especially that its also a good leveling spec for the monk, too. The one thing I changed was I put the mantra as the right click, because you tend to use it more as sweeping wave renews itself in big fights.
Hey Healthy I love the videos I think you're slowly but surely building a fan base. I was curious though if you have completed Inferno on the monk yet? And also I wanted to know if you could tell me which of your videos shows the build you think is the most effective for Acts 2 and 3+ on Inferno ( or perhaps this one? ).
Hey, i like your vids a lot! I stopped playing monk when i hit hell and rolled a ranged.. When i saw your channel i went back to the monk and loving it. Atm at act 3 hell and plowing everything in sight. Really helpfull liked and subscribed :) looking forward to more vids
He doesn't ignore the mobs completely. Just lures them until he finds a champion pack. That said even if your intention is to fight everything you find I suggest keeping Dashing strike, gets you out of corners and can buy time if you're desperately waiting on a cooldown. Although I'm sure someone will disagree with me on that. =P But that's my two cents.
Actually frozen fruit and vegs have very good nutrional value, since all the vitamins and minerals get stuck inside the veg/fruit, when freezing it. And often frozen fruit/vegs get frozen shortly after they've been picked (at least thats how its done i denmark) and so they retain more vitamins and minerals than "fresh" ones from the store, which have been lying in the store for days (not to mention the transportation from farm too store).
Subbed for a channel that has just started I am very impressed I love the healthy gamer tips , a nice gesture :D, one question though I am a low level monk and I suppose a noob :P if you could make a vid showing how to determine a good item to sell or just to melt? Also a build for low levels trying to burn through normal/nightmare
agreed I'm building my monk with all resist with a bonus of some sort fire resist or something just to stack it higher with the passive skill. along with high crit damage and crit chance life regeneration and life on hit, he'll be a force to reckon with.
It's funny I've been looking everywhere for a good inferno build for monk (I'm not really struggling in inferno yet but was curious to see if there's something better out there) and I'm literally using the EXACT same build as you except for I have mangle instead of concussion on dat crippling wave. So pretty cool to see someone using the same build as me :) and this build is certified to beat butcher first try no problems idk if you've tried act 2 yet
I tried this build out, and i have 13k dps/66% resist all unbuffed, so I'm not horribly geared. But i felt like the survivability of this build on certain elite packs just didn't cut it, even with kiteing/pots/timeing cd's ect. Guess i need to gear up even more, although with other builds i can can clear Act 1 Inferno np's.
frozen fruits and vegetables are actually fresher then "fresh" fruits and vegetables as they are frozen as soon as they are picked and slows down all biological processes. From the time that something is picked off the plant it starts to decompose and can lose up to 45% of it's nutrients by the time it reaches your table. TDLR, Frozen blueberries ftw
'Preciate the vid and your reasoned info (as I'm a 60 monk struggling to get past inferno act 1), but...Serenity and Breath of Heaven are both (along w/ Blinding Flash and Inner Sanct) defensive action bar skills, and mutually exclusive, no? (unless you can style me on how to remap the action bar to permit 2 defensive cooldowns, lol)-??
my problem with serenety and the healing rune is that its only a sec. breath of heaven and i dont feel the one second of being untoucheble (in the tooltip are written 2 seconds but i read that its wrong). its only good for defending iceflowers and stuff. if you use the 4 second rune you can nearly heal up with mantra of healing with the rune that the healing in the first seconds is increased. but its less damge od cause. i think i´ll use your combination for farming and this to stay alive. ty ;)
hey man love ur build vids but i was wondering about that monk build u put up a while ago and it was based around crits ferdayz and u had like 28k dps. Does the build work well now or has it been patched.????? thanks
which build would u recommend a monk with lvl60 9k dps (i know its low, just entered inferno) 35klife 53% ressist about 10%+ critchance 5500armor running a 1handweapon and a shield? a answer would be epic
templar taunts stuns and heals so hes good enchantress provied an armor and attack speed buff which is nice scoundrel provides a crit buff and i find all are useless for their dps so i use them for utility
i use this really effectively and i hit 60 a few hours ago stats are: 15600 DPS 4300 Armor (60% Reduc.) 238 All Resist 34k Health 35% Dodge 5% Crit chance 1.7 Atk/s so i can improve but this build is still very effective
I wouldn't really use A1 HoA runs as a benchmark for an Inferno-Viable build. I can ruin things in all of A1 on my monk, but still get squished by trash in A3.
I try to do butcher runs with this build, but i cant escape champions or elites ( i have 12kdmg, 4k+armor,43%element dmg reduction, ~40kHP, Attack speed 1.84 per second.) I die alot and rage quit, been dien all day today -.-, after i got to butcher with 5valors stacks, the buthcer killed me 5times, cause the whole room was on fire -.- any tips? i know i need better equips but i only have 150k and i dont know where to grind -.-
this setup worked for me, i just choose Blinding flash with rune 60% miss to elites instead of dashing strike as im in no real hurry, didnt die 1 time when i tried it first time and i got the achievement butcher under 2mins, so i gues thank you ;)
different runes change the way everything looks.. play around. Mantra's are one of the most differing things I've noticed. The color underneath, and the kanji character that is under you..
I got another build and my monk spec are 12k dps 610all ress 32 dodge 5500 armor and 1 hand and shield and cleared act 1 atm. I was not skipping any elite pack always explore all map and say truth got only once problem with one elite pack Zombie one all others no problem and also got butcher under 2 min achiv.
I zoned out and day dreamed around the 6:20 mark and when I came back all I was hearing was "frozen blueberries are cheaper and still healthy" What. The. Hell.
Hey there, have you heard of "Diablo 3 Maxout Turbo" (just search on Google for it ...)? On their website you can watch a smart free video demonstrating the way to speed run Diablo 3. This made it easier for Jack to speed level in Diablo 3 and thus max out his character very quickly. It may help you also.
hey man, i think you could be faster if you used two-hander, i saw one guy farming inferno act 1 just fine with two-hander, so maybe try it out and let us know :) anyway keep up the awesome videos and i hope you will post atleast one video a day always, like you do now :)
I just want to thank you for giving us an opportunity to win that much gold n_n Love your videos, you always make me question my builds and consider different play styles as a monk is Diablo III!
okay honestly this build doesnt deal high enough dmg to be viable for speed, its loses hp way too easily and too often. my monk rarely dips below 3/4 hp in inferno and kills faster than this with nothing special gear.
I dont wonna ba hater or anything, but you won't make much more than too act 2 with that build, so this "guide" is outdated since he's been buffed. And 10-15 crit naaa minimum 20% crit chance Attack speed about 1,6-1,8 is more than enough, thats all i gotta say...
Hey there, have you heard about "D3Max Out Turbo" (just search on Google for it ...)? There you can watch a great free video explaining the way to speed run Diablo 3. This helped Pete to speed level through Diablo 3 and max out his character super fast. Hopefully it will help you too...
Hello there, have you heard about "D3 MaxOut Turbo" (google it)? There you will find a great free video demonstrating the way to speed run Diablo 3. This made it possible for Pete to speed level in Diablo 3 and then max out his character very quickly. Perhaps it will work for you also...
Thanks for the kind comment and sub. Yes sir I plan to be putting together a 40-60 guide tonight and tomorrow, so keep an eye out for that :D

One of the better monk set ups i have seen posted. THX a ton. Not in inferno yet but cant wait to get there.
I like Earth Ally, and you could replace dashing strike with her if you didn't want to run around skipping trash packs.
Attack speed is also good for your survivability, both for debuff uptime and self-healing through Transcendence (more attack speed=faster spirit generation=faster skill output=faster healing). For sure! Thanks for the comment :D
Awesome! Glad to hear this is working for you :D
Great to hear, thanks for the comment :)

Trying out a dual wield build right now, but mostly yes shield, the stats and armor are hard to beat for trying to survive in Inferno.
hey thanks for this awesome guide, I found it really useful! especially that its also a good leveling spec for the monk, too. The one thing I changed was I put the mantra as the right click, because you tend to use it more as sweeping wave renews itself in big fights.

Thanks brother, there's great viewers here :D
That's awesome to hear, keep up the good work king :D
not sure if your aware but if you go to options>gameplay> then turn on elective mode. Not sure if that answers your question.
Thanks brother! Looking forward to doing a project with you.

Good points to consider, thanks for the comment.
Awesome thanks for following along Superc :D
Subscriber ever since your first vid bro love your vids, keep going!
My templar's gear sucks, mainly just use him for the extra spirit regen.
agreed I'm building my monk with all resist with a bonus of some sort fire resist or something just to stack it higher with the passive skill. along with high crit damage and crit chance life regeneration and life on hit, he'll be a force to reckon with.
Hm not sure if I know the answer to that question.

TDLR, Frozen blueberries ftw
Real informative, this will probably come in very handy, thanks! you got a new subscriber.
Oh didn't even think of that, sure if you win and aren't on US servers we'll figure something out.
hey nice guide thanks for the awesome tips, 1 question though: your companion is 59, dont all companions auto ding 60 on inferno? or is that wrong
'Preciate the vid and your reasoned info (as I'm a 60 monk struggling to get past inferno act 1), but...Serenity and Breath of Heaven are both (along w/ Blinding Flash and Inner Sanct) defensive action bar skills, and mutually exclusive, no? (unless you can style me on how to remap the action bar to permit 2 defensive cooldowns, lol)-??
only 300 resist all? did you skip all the champion packs you came across?

No, the IAS was nerfed on ALL items except for quivers.
So this build would be good for hell-inferno too?
Really will look into that.
Very good point Marbleshade and thanks for the comment.
do you go with shields ? or dual weild for more life on hit?
Awesome! Thanks for the sub and thanks for the nice comment :D
:D blueberries are the best, ever try them in smoothies?
i use this really effectively and i hit 60 a few hours ago stats are:
15600 DPS
4300 Armor (60% Reduc.)
238 All Resist
34k Health
35% Dodge
5% Crit chance
1.7 Atk/s
so i can improve but this build is still very effective
How did you give wind ability to RMB. I Can`t. i Don`t have this option
Search "Diablo 3 gameplay monk after nerf" that's the build I'd recommend.
I wouldn't really use A1 HoA runs as a benchmark for an Inferno-Viable build. I can ruin things in all of A1 on my monk, but still get squished by trash in A3.
Awesome! Great work.
Great to hear :D
Say i wanna stay and kill the mobs wat sholde i use instead of Dashing stirke?
Going to have to save up for a 2 hander now all you guys have me thinking about 2handers haha.
did you get past Act2?
u think i could change dash to something else?
I try to do butcher runs with this build, but i cant escape champions or elites ( i have 12kdmg, 4k+armor,43%element dmg reduction, ~40kHP, Attack speed 1.84 per second.) How are u getting healed when you running
Where did you get this information?
how so? and what build do you use for act 3?
different runes change the way everything looks.. play around. Mantra's are one of the most differing things I've noticed. The color underneath, and the kanji character that is under you..
Fantastic, thanks!
Hey, I'm actually sad myself. I had a 3.2 attack speed DH. Now... it's just terrible.
i thought the ias nerfe only applies on DH's
ep this is a little more gear dependant than some others. Props for trying though.
Great work bro!
:D all t hanks to you great viewers.
is this good for level 56?
Very close to the build I already use...not bad though for newer players to use.
Great vids, just Subbed. FYI to everyone they will be nerfing attack speed in the next patch.
More gear i got 5.6k armor with 372 resist all and 10k just gotta figure something out auction house your gear
The. Hell.
why havent i heard of you before, your vids are very good
Holy hell, 3.2!

That sounds awesome!
Eh i tried the blinding flash it helps with most parts and easyer since im a bit undergeard
I just want to thank you for giving us an opportunity to win that much gold n_n
Love your videos, you always make me question my builds and consider different play styles as a monk is Diablo III!
But this is act 1. Nobody has trouble in act 1. Show me some act 2 champion action and I will be impressed. Good video tough.
okay honestly this build doesnt deal high enough dmg to be viable for speed, its loses hp way too easily and too often. my monk rarely dips below 3/4 hp in inferno and kills faster than this with nothing special gear.
Haha that's cool, great minds think alike. Yeah I've been doing act 2/3.
nice video i sub, and good to see healthy gamers out there i sure need the help!
I wish the servers were up so i could try out this build :(
Time man just not enough time in the day.
damn man your growing so fast
I have 15k dps and 300 resist all and 4.5k armour and im still getting one shotted
I dont wonna ba hater or anything, but you won't make much more than too act 2 with that build, so this "guide" is outdated since he's been buffed. And 10-15 crit naaa minimum 20% crit chance Attack speed about 1,6-1,8 is more than enough, thats all i gotta say...
frozen blueberries are even better than fresh. great tip :)
Fallen angel, go through kill the warden, then kill the butcher.

Is it possible to win if im am on EU server?
I`m stuck in act 3 with my monk , with 300resist all 31k hp ,27k damage :|
Frozen blueberries are amazing...
hahaha, with yoghurt, frozen, even the dried ones are really nice
nice vid, might start up my monk again.
