I was 18 years old when this track was originallly released back in 1999. An instant classic made even better by the DJ Falcom remix. What a record. What a moment. WHAT A TUNE. Its hard to convey to people of a later generation how much the French Touch-era impacted house music at that time (and pop music itself within a few years). It was fresh, funky and FILTERED. The heavily filtered effect became somewhat overused but trust me, when i say, that many a dancefloor was lain to waste to by this track dropping toward the backend of a long-evening, back in the day. A masterpiece!
RIP Zdar. I basically listen to this song every single day so I was really hurt by his passing. Edit: I know DJ Falcon produced this remix but it wouldn't exist without the original.
You would think this would get repetitive and annoying but it somehow doesn't and just ends up being catchy. That's the magic of DJ Falcon and Cassius! Also, that filter at 5:19 is my favorite part.
House Music was more measured in the late 90's early 2000's due to artists needing to go into recording studios this meant interaction with experienced Sound Engineers that would give advice on the quality of the work. Contemporary music is rubbish due to the availability of low cost to free Music Software. Sure, it sounds Recording Studio quality yet NO interaction with Sound Engineers.
French House was too good to last. Like Gen X, its demise came too quickly and was heralded by the arrival of the Millennials who gave us... dub step. Lucky us. Zdar, you are missed more than you could ever know.
I love how this sounds nothing like the original yet it still uses a small sample of the original song.
You just explained about 90% of sample based house music, as well as other sample based loop music.
Happy for your discovery.
This is hands down the best French House track ever made.
Spinal Scratch is on the same level imo
@@IStMl as much as I love Roulé/Crydamoure stuff, this one is on another level
Revolution 909 too
@@caprature Daft Punk are way more than French house tracks imo.

I was 19 when i got the 1999 album in 1999, familiar with the album version of this song but never heard this remix until now. Mind. Blown. 🤯
The good ol’ fashioned Wall of Sound! We keep on searching for it long after the scene is gone. 🙏
There is nothing to add...
Daft Punk and their crew changed the entire music industry by introducing this French sound. Nothing ever quite like it!
This blew my young brains out in 2000 what a blinder, what a peach, this is one of the sexiest tracks in existence
Ben Upton love this
Still stuck in my head to this day.

@@tece0577 I think he means the wood block sound in the drums.

Thats is the key of french house
In the mainstream, repetition dominates music.
In French House, music dominates repetition.
I remember this one played together with Zoot Woman - Living on Magazine // Paper Faces Remix
This was from David Guetta’s set at Pacha in 2003, right?

Cause french house is been taken by edm

@@yo-boi-roy---_- EDM literally sucks. Wish house was still as big. Its still loved and respected in the right places tho
@@Smook225k house is still huge, french house isnt
Their subsequent albums compromised too much, imo.
