Trains at: West Drayton, GWML, 01/09/18

- A very enjoyable afternoon spent at West Drayton on the Great Western Mainline where we see plenty of services from Great Western Railway.
West Drayton was opened by the Great Western Railway in 1838 when the route was opened by them. Although this isn't the original station site, the first station was built slightly to the West of the current station, however it only lasted for a year. Once the line to Staines was complete in 1834 the site was then move to its current location. From 1883 to 1885 the station was served by the District Railway as was the case with much of the line, but it was axed due to monetary funds.
There used to be 2 lines coming off from this station, there was the Staines Branch and the Uxbridge Branch that went to Uxbridge Vine Street. The latter of the two was subsequently closed to passenger traffic in 1962. But was left open to freight traffic until 1979. However there is still a section of the line left open to freight traffic, but its used once in a blue moon. Primarily it was used for the construction of Heathrow Terminal 5.
The station has gone through 3 name changes. It was opened as West Drayton, then renamed West Drayton and Yiewsley in 1895 and then renamed to West Drayton in 1974.

I could've quite happily gone into a full blown rant with that kid at the start haha, just some people amaze me with how they think that they can get away with things like that. But either way I really e3njoeyd my time here

Great start to the video, including the 43. 2 epic rants, including the one about the young lad, and an all round awesome station. If it was me I would have given it to the lad and just seen him fall which would have been funny, but you kept your composure awesomely. Keep up the good work mate.
Well it wasn't the way I had intended for the film to start really. The HST I thought was excellent then that young lad came along and thought he could be clever. He even looked back at me as he walked off expecting me to say something to him. People like that just aren't worth it. So instead of having a go at him on the station I would do it on the film haha
