GReddy is proud to introduce a new generation of "Push Type Blow Off Valve," the GReddy BOV FV. The "FV" stand for Floating Valve, and it is this breakthrough in design that produces quicker valve response, increased valve travel, and improved resistance to premature valve lift and boost leak. The unique floating valve design incorporates a revised adjustable dual spring system and diaphragm ventilation, while maintaining the advantages of the previous model's push valve structure and heat resistant silicone diaphragm and valve ratio. This allows the springs and diaphragm to better control the valve and boost. By relocating one spring under and keeping one over the diaphragm, it makes the need for spring pre-load less dependent on idle and light boost situations and more on keeping the valve closed under boost. The result is our best performing GReddy Blow-off Valve yet! Another improvement includes an adjustable, sliding top hat, to adjust the hose fitting location, without complete dis-assembly. The FV also keeps its overall mounting and outlet dimensions, which means it is compatible with the industry standard two-bolt GReddy BOV flange and can easily replace existing Type RS & RZ applications, as well as use the same optional RS and RZ outlet adapters.

Indeed the S sounds pretty good. I gotta get an adapter plate so I can run it on my sti again now that I went back to the tmic. I miss the sound of the type S.

Which spring do you use? The thin or the thick one? I just have a basic turbo setup on my miata and goes to 7psi. Not dynotuned yet. What would be better? The thin or thick?

I believe That’s the turbo struggling to spin its turbines because there isn’t enough air going thru it to make a full rotation. So that sound is pretty much the turbines slowing down and failing fully spin
a little bit of a late reply but the air gets pushed through the turbine causing it to make that stu stu stu and than with a bov the air gets push through that opens and than makes the pshhhhh and closes
Also maybe should get someone do the exhaust work since.its basicly straight pipe anyway

Hey man nice bov I also have a greddy BOV fv but mine doesn't release at idle .. should I adjust it and make it softer ?
its a damn good bov. I hope you have educated yourself on how a BOV works, its function and purpose so that my guidance is helpful to you. Go to the softest setting if you're on stock boost to get noise when revving at idle. If you car is not stock and have increased boost and you set it too soft, you wont reach your desired boost level as it will be venting out to atmosphere (boost leak) when on full load as the spring or valve start to open. You can play around with the setting with full throttle and keep an eye on your boost gauge. If you are hitting your desired boost level on the soft setting then no worries, if not, you need to tighten a notch then take it for a drive full load and see. Repeat process until desired boost level reached. If you don't care about performance and want only noise then just set it soft.
It has a floating valve system meaning it will no open at all until under load. Most bov’s release air intermittently while driving, this one does not.

I just got this bov, to replace my godspeed 50mm rs bov. The sound is about the same. Its more quite at low boost tho. Since it mainly relying on boost pressure to open the vavle
Bruh it doesn't really on boost pressure to open it relys on engine vacume ...hence why it only opens when you're off throttle
@@spartansoff-roadrecovery5058 ah you miss understand. This is the float valve. So the bottom valve is always closed with a 1psi spring. Even if the top diaphram is open. So it needs bpost pressure from inside the pipe to push the valve open. That is the reason you can run this on maf system and no get bad readings when at idle. They dont crack open due to vacuum pulling up the diaphragm and valve. Google how these work and you will see
@@xile6 boost pressure is also in the line controlling it ..so if there is 1 psi in the manifold there's also 1 psi in the line ...causing it to stay shut ....or what's called breaking even. You can adjust the bov by putting more pressure on the spring with the adjuster causing it to stay shut at idle only vacume can open a BOV everyone knows this seems like you need to look it up yourself 🤣🤣🤣 you should check my channel I drive a boosted jeep with more money in just the internals and machining than most people have in their whole build. @@spartansoff-roadrecovery5058 as i said look up this bov. It has a floating valve. And of course you can crank down a bov to stay fully closed at idle but if you pull a lot of vaccum at idle then you also make the bov to hard to blow off and you get turbo flutter.
But believe what you will. I have the valve and it been on the car for over 3 yrs. I know how it works

It's because the turbo Is making boost pressure and releasing it it doesn't have to be in gear to build boost

Marcos Hernandez blow off valves can be added to any turbo car. you just need the right flange. and if your turbo set up as a recirculation bov, they sell the adapters.
