Two giants of radio and screen Peter and Agnes just mega stars and great actors. I can't think of anyone now who is anywhere near these two guys with their acting credits.
I knew Agnes Moorehead only as Samantha's mother on Bewitched, and from a couple of roles in old movies...until I started listening to old radio shows a few years ago. She was fantastic! What a long career and a lot of good acting.
I remember my parents saying that Lorre made a live appearance (at the Paramount?) and he had the audience MESMERIZED. Great actor and one of the reasons it was a Golden Age
This is spooky and making me tense. I know what will help.... (the sound of a cigarette lighter flicks followed by the crackle of burning tobacco) Ahhh camel cigarettes for that classic flavour! 😁😆
I thought I recognized Harry "Henry" Morgan's voice as the narrator. I remember him from the TV shows Pete & Gladys, Dragnet (Detective Bill Gannon) and MASH (Colonel Sherman Potter).
I smoked a little bit, Marlboro Lights but they were $0.50 a pack. Or you could buy a carton and get a pack free. Or for military you could go on base and get them for $17 carton.
I quit smoking 35 years ago but my sister says that a package of the good cigarettes like players light or something like that is $16 a packet in in Canada
Really enjoy these old radio shows.

@Josie Iatomasi True! :D
@Josie Iatomasi Yes! There are many! (Never heard of Alexander Scourby. Guess I'll look him up.)
@Josie Iatomasi Oh! He evidently had a wonderful, deep, resonant voice. I see he was recorded reading the bible. That might be very nice to listen to!
Mr. Lorre is absolutely AMAZING! Love him and appreciate his work. There hasn't been anyone else better since, and that voice...smh...perfection!!.

Lorre was the master!

The BBC version is wonderful and a bit different. I heard Harry Morgan's voice didn't I?

It would be a lot of fun to act with your lines *right in front of you* !
Harry Morgan also starred as Pete in the TV show “Pete and Gladys” along with Cara Williams. (1960-1962)
Great show.
l can't remember his name but the narrator at the beginning of the show was the Colonel from the t.v show M.A.S.H
The narrator is Harry Morgan.
Mesmerizing!

I have this incredible urge to smake a camel, Or Prince Albert in the can.
For some reason I feel like a smoke!!!
Wow this came out a day before we got our independence. It's amazing how I am hearing it today 😂
What are these called ? Just Radio Shows ?
+Engimato
Well, you can call them potatoes or bagels or refrigerators if you want to. But, yes, they're usually referred to as "radio shows". ~wink~
Yes,,
that escalated quickly
You could call them radio dramas, that's another name for these.
In some parts of the world this is called Radio Theatre.
That theme though..
Can't get enough of those Camel cigarettes to our VA hospital staff and patients. It cures what ails you.
Who would have thought smokes are $9 now?!?!

Wow, way back in 1947 we were being groomed to view religion in a disparaging light.
Religious fanaticism, not religion.
Really. How so?
Can't remember, I'd have to watch the film again.@@jennifermiller7139
