I just wanted to say that being an endo girl myself, I was told repeatedly by several doctors that endometriosis does not equal certain infertility. My gynecologist always says there are as many types of endo as there are patients + I know several women suffering from but they didn't struggle at all having babies. I know it's scary from personal experience but you're not alone and you never know ❤
I’ve only just recently found your account, but can I just say it is so refreshing to watch someone with a life I can relate to rather than other TH-camrs with lots of money/huge houses/ crazy social lives… I live a very similar life to you but at the other end of the country ( Cornwall) with a collie too! I was born in Scotland and have always wanted to go back, so I’m living my dream through your videos 🤍 thankyou for making them! Xx
Hi Caroline, bit of a silent viewer usually but I felt compelled to comment! I love a cosy sunday morning watching your videos every week, extra treat for a such a long video today!🥹 i’m a Glasgow based artist, and i’ve just bought my first home and your interiors are my inspiration ALWAYS!! Skye is now at the top of my list for my next adventure, I adore your videos (especially longer ones!) 🥰
Oven roast your broccoli florets. It gives it a lovely nutty flavour and a much better texture than boiling. I toss mine with olive oil, salt, pepper and a bit of garlic granules and bake at 200C for 12 mins. Thanks for another lovely, cozy video ❤
So I have to say I really enjoy the 5 second ads especially on such a long video. Lately I feel like everything I watch even if it's short has multiple minute long ads. It's doesn't go unnoticed and it's appreciated!!
Thanks for being so real and sharing such difficult topics in such an honest and emotional way. Wishing you all the best and thanks for supporting all women by prioritizing your own health ❤
Love the longer vlogs. Your vlogs are so relaxing and you live in such a beautiful, magical place. Makes me calm and that's coming from an extremly anxious overthinking human. 😊❤
I truly cannot get enough of your videos 🫶 the coziest, inspiring, relaxing content. You seem to have such a genuine, kind personality. Thank you for sharing bits of your world ❤️
Dear Caroline You did absolutely the right thing! Even when it seems that you are alone, there are actually a lot of people going through the same things, we just don't know about it. 💛💙
Just found your channel and I'm enjoying your cozy vlogs, that transition at 14:26 with your glasses on and cup of tea before bed to 14:27 to your beautiful wavy hair gave me a double take, it's amazing how different hair styles appear to change the shape of a face. I'd like to recommend you a book for the winter The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden it's such a great story using folk tales and history and weaving in amazingly rich characters, and such poetic language, with a heroine at the centre.
I love my broccoli roasted!! It gets a little crunch and it’s soooo yummy. Still watching but had to share my way to love broccoli. Also adding it to my mac and cheese!!! 😛 hehehe LOVE your content - watching it is a manifestation practice for me 💚✨ Thank you. 🙏🥰
For a road trip in Ireland you can’t miss the North Coast of Northern Ireland, giants causeway, dunluce castle, carrick-a-rede rope bridge, beautiful beaches etc. ❤
I find your videos so grounding and calming, they really help me with my anxiety so I've extra loved watching a longer video from you ❤ came back to it whenever I needed a soothing watch!
Please do not fear the worse with endometriosis I was also put on the pill and managed to have 2 beautiful daughters and had to have a full hysterectomy 6 months after the birth of my second baby , take all the help your offered ❤
Hello lovely, I'm a new subscriber and I'm really enjoying your content. I'm 38 and still undecided about children. My hubby and I are very close and we love our little bubble. I don't understand how more people don't struggle with this decision. It's such a leap into the unknown not knowing what their personality and health will be like at the other side, and of course how your life will change and how much you'll have to sacrifice. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone in being undecided. We married in Assynt in 2022 and did a 2-week road trip around the Highlands, including Skye. Loving getting these glimpses into your own wee bubble :) Best wishes to you both x
Hi Caroline, I just wanted to say thank you for that honest talk. I've been experiencing something similar and have an ultrasound coming up that I'm super nervous for. But knowing that there are other people who are going through medical scaries like me makes it feel so much better, like I'm less alone. So a big big thank you. 💕
I firstly want to say, I’m so sorry for you receiving that news at the doctor. I have diagnosed through surgery with endometriosis and the grieving process is definitely valid and can be so challenging to navigate. I will say that endometriosis is mostly unfortunately undetectable through ultrasounds. You are worthy of good medical care and your pain is valid. If you don’t agree with anything through your medical journey said by a medical professional with how you choose to treat it, don’t be afraid to see someone else until you agree that it’s the best possible journey for you. Sending love ❤
Haven't watched yet, but is the dream vlog length for this rainy Sunday afternoon! Can't wait to get all cosy later on and enjoy it with a cup of tea ❤
Caroline, I‘m sending you so much love and strength for your endometriosis!❤ I‘ve been diagnosed ealier this year and had to get surgery. It came as a total surprise because I always played down the pain I was in. It‘s honestly affected me more than I could‘ve imagined. Also so much rage about womens deseases not being researched as much and all the unknowns coming towards us because of it.
Love your vlogs Caroline! Lee had me cracking up when he did ‘The Reverend Jolly’ act. Also when he described your wardrobe space it’s just how my husband describes his space! So funny. My friend has Endometriosis and has always suffered bad period pain. She now has 2 gorgeous children. Wishing you all the very best and sending love. Joy xx
Wow that weekend. Your life is like a full-time holiday in that place ❤ and I love your cooking/eating/food content, so good to see people eating well as I recover to normal eating habits thank you. And yes, I thought it sounded like endometriosis 😢 glad u r having a scan. I have endometriosis and had two ops and had a child no problem and yes, never took that pill just soldiered on. Your vlogs are my favourites
I'm somebody who struggles with really painful periods, and I would highly recommend reading Period Power by Maisie Hill. It was so insightful and she discussed all sorts of period-related problems including endo. After reading it, I felt more hopeful that there are things I can do to manage better and be more in control of my own health. Wishing you the best of luck on your endo journey 🧡
You should definitely visit Howth! It’s such a beautiful seaside town near Dublin with a lovely coastal cliff walk! If you’re taking Nuala, she would love it as well!
Loved the longer vlog - yours are my favourite ones to watch every week! 🥰 Also, if you are going to Ireland, Skellig Michael was incredible! Was such an amazing experience especially if you love history :)
Never commented before but wanted to say I myself have a hunch I have endometriosis and my doc has said “it’s probably endo” but waiting to do more tests. Your reaction was the same as mine. I felt so dramatic in the moment so I’m thankful I’m not alone! Thank goodness for supportive partners as well 🧡
Broccoli rescue here try the tender stem instead game changer for me. I now enjoy eating it I just avoid the big florets. Just found your channel enjoy your vlogs
About broccoli: have you ever tried it roasted with olive oil salt and pepper until it has a pretty strong color (not burnt but browned) then tossed with lemon juice and grated Parmesan for the last 5 minutes of cooking? That’s my favorite way to have it anyway. A little bit of thinly sliced basil once it’s out is good on this, but not essential.
broccoli in the air fryer! you can lightly spray with some olive oil and add some garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and toss to distribute. it gets so nice and crispy and delicious!
also, my trainer has struggled with endo for years and was always worried about not being able to have a safe pregnancy. she had her first healthy baby at 37 years old in may of 2023 and is pregnant with her second now, due next month on her 38th birthday! sending you lots of hugs!!!
Going through the same thing with painful periods etc. For me it's incredible pain around my pelvis and lower back and then feeling like I'm going to faint with the pain. I'm also booked in for an ultrasound in a couple of months time. Exact same boat as you, we don't know what page we are on for kids either. Here with you, we both took steps to feeling better and improves our quality of life. 💚
Thank you for sharing such a raw moment with us as your audience. Brave in itself to process it yourself. Makes me feel silly for not saying hello when I spotted you the other day 😂
Highly recommend chopping broccoli up in bite-size pieces and tossing with olive oil, salt, and a dash of garlic powder. Roast for about 15-20 min at 205 C. Finish off with a handful of grated Parmesan, some roasted pine nuts or sunflower kernels, and a squeeze of lemon. Nothing better!
Thank you SO much for talking about the endo stuff. I had a very similar conversation with my doctor last week and its been on my mind a huge amount- especially around fertility. I had an ultrasound last year and was told it was all clear, only to go back to the doctor about my symptoms (which are actually more digestive system related, but only when my period comes (which apparently means it might have spread to my bowel)) and have her notice that the scan notes did actually say there was some endometrial tissue there. Now waiting on a referral for further investigation. I'm 31 and getting married next year and we weren't planning on trying for a while as we wanted to save money but now we've decided we're just going to try as soon as the wedding is over and paid for, and try and survive on statutory mat pay if it happens (I work for a charity so no big maternity package) - which I know isn't an option for a freelancer like yourself. I've been talking to friends who are childfree by choice though as well to get a sense of how good life can be without having children, and as Lee said - you can always have lots of dogs! I also have a wonderfully supportive and 'what will be will be' partner which is such an antidote to my endless researching/playing out worst case scenarios. The uncertainty is the absolute worst, as well as feeling like your hand might be forced into making certain decisions. Sending lots of love. Seeing the effect it had on you has really made me feel validated in my feelings so thank you for sharing 🧡 ps. sorry for such a long comment - don't even usually comment at all haha
I have a fabulous broccoli recipe. 🥦 Even my children eat it. 😄 place florets on a backing sheet and coat with a little olive oil. Sprinkle with onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Bake at 425F (sorry, American here, I don’t know the Celsius conversion. 🙈) for about 15 minutes or until the broccoli starts getting lightly crispy. Take it out of the oven and zest lemon onto it, and squeeze the juice of half the lemon over top. DELICIOUS. 🤤 I’ve used bags of both fresh florettes and frozen, if you use frozen, you’ll just have to bake it a little longer. 👍🏼
I am from Northern Ireland.. I'd advise to do the cause way drive..see the giants causeway and donegal.. it's beautiful and similar to Scotland.. however I am a fermanagh girl and we have an awesome pub called Charlie's bar in Enniskillen which is worth a visit got a music night..
Ohhh I love your vlogs you’re home is beautiful, what a view 😍 I need that coat in my life , are they true to size I’m a 12 to 14 so usually get 14 as I hate being restricted. I’ll be visiting sky hopefully in June can’t wait to be back in Scotland ❤
Loved your video. So sorry to hear about your possible diagnosis of endometriosis. It will take time for you and your lovely partner to absorb the information but be strong and support each other with love and care. Your home is beautiful, as is the gorgeous Nula.
Hi Caroline! I recently started watching your channel for the cosy vibes + cottage content (: I’m based in (South) Donegal and there’s loads to check out in the North West…some faves off the top of my head are the Sliabh Liag Cliffs, Errigal Mountain, the Gleniff Horseshoe, Benbulben (nice Forest Walk there), Silver Strand near Malin Beg,…so much more! I’m in Bundoran; if you’re up for a swim or need more recommendations, hit me up ✨ Also, huge props to you for talking about endometrioses, I know a few people affected by it and it is crazy how little researched and talked about it is!!
Wanting to paint a large cabinet in my kitchen and love the green shelves you were getting ingredients for the lasagne. What is the paint colour? Thanks for another great vlog! ❤
@carolinemcquistin Thank you 😊 Hope you're having a great day, and thanks for letting me live vicariously through you as I've always wanted to live in Scotland. Especially somewhere that's as stunning as skye!
Hi there ! I am finally finding time to watch a vlog from you. I love mashed potatoes with brocoli and a loooads of butter of course. You can give it a try ! Hearing you talk about your health issues was really... I don't know... it just touched my heart ! I know we don't know each other but I just wish I could just hold your hand through it all. Thank you for sharing your so true little corner of life ! With love, Marie
I got diagnosed this month with PCOS so can relate with the mixed emotions as I am a similar age and we have the same mindset on children. Feeling like your choice may be decided for you can be hard to deal with. However, lots of people do successfully have children so there is hope if that is what you decide you want in the future. It is important to talk about as these issues are more common than you might think so you are not alone! ❤ PCOS has a lot of dietary connections that can be improved through food changes, so maybe similar for endo? Might be worth asking your doctor.
I have endo too. Remember, knowledge is power and now you have that power you can choose what to do with it. I would say, don't wait to have kids. If you're planning to have them and in a good point in your relationship go for it sooner rather than later. I wasn't able to have them but one of my best friends who also has endo has two lovely healthy girls. It's also worth noting that a surgeon said to me once that with endo you can have terrible pain and very little endo or lots of endo and little pain, so don't pamic if you feel your pain is really bad - as levels of endo pain do not necessarily equate to degrees of endo. Mostly though, just be kind to yourself. I find a period diary helps as the day before I get really anxious, so knowing that my anxiety is actually just due to that is helpful. Warm baths and chocolate also help me 🙂
If your coming to Ireland/ getting Ferry to Belfast, drive along the North Antrim coast to Donegal, then in Donegal follow the wild Atlantic way- I think you would love the small town of Ardara in Donegal (good for music) and instead of spending time in Belfast do a Day in Derry instead. In Derry try do a guided walk of the walls, then go into the Guidehall to see John Humes Nobel peace prize, then walk across the peace bridge for dinner/drinks in Ebrington square
Hi Caroline, dont be disheartened about the endo. I have it too and have got two children. The pill however has helped me a lot, it has honestly changed my life. From taking so many painkillers a day to none now. Try it. Also can i just say your hair is *chefs kiss* is it natural or coloured because i need that colour! ❤
My heart went out to you so much as you were talking about your drs appointment it’s such an emotional thing and makes you think you have to make all the decisions now so good to talk and your friends sound lovely and are correct to not feel embarrassed for being emotional! I have the same and we have just adopted. Everyone’s journey is so different but I do feel having the best loving relationship and partner is so key. On a side note this was a lovely vlog. Do you have a patreon? I’m sure we would all like to buy you a cuppa each month!
Caroline, resetting and reducing can give time to heal. It's temporary often but gives time to consider children. If they offer a laparoscope, consider. Endometriosis can scar the colon and bladder that causes more issues later. Sometimes it can be tidy up during the procedure. It's beautiful there and you will be just fine. So fortunate such a loving partner you have.
I feel this is very Midwestern of me, but I love brocoli with melted cheese! I use Velveeta but you could probably use cheddar with a splash of milk! Or brocoli cheddar soup!
Hi from an Inverness girl living in Northern Ireland! My recommendation is the Courthouse in Bangor, County Down. It’s a fantastic wee bar/venue with a cosy fire and trad session on every Saturday afternoon. If you want company for that, or a dog walk/sea swim/paddle when you’re in the area give me a shout, would be lovely to show you round 😊
My wife and I were trying for children for 3 years , nothing was happening, after going through similar feelings we eventually went to doctors etc and to a hospital fertility specialist and in the end my wife was not ovulating normally, she was also very irregular with periods and I n the end we decided to just take the pressure off and see how it went , she did have some medication to help regulate her periods and after 4 months we got pregnant with Twins, we had already accepted we’d probably not have children at that point. We were happy with whatever was going to happen and what used to annoy me is people expecting as soon as your married or a couple kids will come ! Lee is a great bloke and as he said don’t ever let it worry you , your health and happiness will always be a priority to him which is amazing, love how honest you are , any fertility issues people used to ask us didn’t bother me but so much pressure is put on a women and that has to stop , great video and Lee waxing the boots 👢, shout out to Lee reminds me of myself 😂
Broccoli, cauliflower and macaroni cheese. Broccoli is also good roasted or raw with hummus. Excellent in a stirfry or curry. YT channel What Vivi Did Next has fab recipe for broccoli and spinach soup. I love broccoli, can you tell? 😂
Thank you for your openness and vulnerability ❤ Hope all turns out okay. PS: Hi there, thanks for the shout out! And well done on the pronounications, it's rare for people to get it right haha. Lovely video again. And loveee this length and a bit of everything in a weekvlog.
I enjoy your longer vlogs. I'm watching on my TV with my knitting and a cup of tea.

You can grate the broccoli into the lasagna! Or if you wanna make broccoli gnocchi or patties, that can be pretty nice too
thanks for the rev I Am Jolly reference, lol I live in the states so haven't heard it for years and i'm old enough to remember it
as a kid on Hogmany.

Thank you so much!!!
Seeing the effect it had on you has really made me feel validated in my feelings so thank you for sharing 🧡
ps. sorry for such a long comment - don't even usually comment at all haha
Sending big hugs Caroline ❤ On another note, roast your broccoli ( and cauliflower), game changer. Also, whenever were you on Strictly? X
Oh that sound so good!!! Thank you!!

Ahahaha glad I could provide the goods
Lovely vlog! The longer the better
thank you 🥹❤️
You should definitely come up to Derry/Donegal whilst in Ireland - great pubs and even better scenery and culture💓
Really hoping we make it up there!!
Loved your video. So sorry to hear about your possible diagnosis of endometriosis. It will take time for you and your lovely partner to absorb the information but be strong and support each other with love and care. Your home is beautiful, as is the gorgeous Nula.
Thank you so much ❤️
Hi Caroline! I recently started watching your channel for the cosy vibes + cottage content (:
I’m based in (South) Donegal and there’s loads to check out in the North West…some faves off the top of my head are the Sliabh Liag Cliffs, Errigal Mountain, the Gleniff Horseshoe, Benbulben (nice Forest Walk there), Silver Strand near Malin Beg,…so much more! I’m in Bundoran; if you’re up for a swim or need more recommendations, hit me up ✨
Also, huge props to you for talking about endometrioses, I know a few people affected by it and it is crazy how little researched and talked about it is!!
I love Bundoran, had many’s a school trip to go surfing there! ❤
Wanting to paint a large cabinet in my kitchen and love the green shelves you were getting ingredients for the lasagne. What is the paint colour? Thanks for another great vlog! ❤
Sap green by farrow and ball 😊
@carolinemcquistin Thank you 😊 Hope you're having a great day, and thanks for letting me live vicariously through you as I've always wanted to live in Scotland. Especially somewhere that's as stunning as skye!
aww I was meant to be at Caitlin's birthday party but sadly couldn't make it!! From the videos I've seen though, it looks so fun!!
It was suchhhh a good night!!

Hearing you talk about your health issues was really... I don't know... it just touched my heart ! I know we don't know each other but I just wish I could just hold your hand through it all. Thank you for sharing your so true little corner of life !
With love,

I work in Ragamuffin :) so many beautiful sweaters 🥰
Awww such a nice shop!!
❤❤❤
I thought I seen you in Kilchoan but totally chickened out of coming to say hello 🙈
Awww haha you should have!!
Thank you so much for this ❤️❤️ and thank you so much for the lovely comment about my hair, it is indeed my natural colour!
Ohhh just saw ko fi must be the equivalent of patreon!
Sending big hugs ❤
Thank you ❤️
I feel this is very Midwestern of me, but I love brocoli with melted cheese! I use Velveeta but you could probably use cheddar with a splash of milk! Or brocoli cheddar soup!
Oh that all sounds bloomin’ lovely!!
Does anyone happen to know where the bedsheets are from? The blue with the little flowers? 🪻🪻
Piglet in bed!!
@@carolinemcquistin Thank you!! 🖤🖤
Ooooh thank you so much!! Noted!!
Lovely outfit!
I love Skye Larder!
This blog is great you are such a lovely couple❤️👍
Thank you 🥰
Broccoli, cauliflower and macaroni cheese.
Oh wow I’m so happy I got that right!! Thank you so much again for your support and for watching, so kind xxx
