- Skyrim is a game where dangers lurkers around every corner. Thankfully, The Elder Scrolls 5 is also an RPG that doesn’t hold back in offering the Dragonborn a wide array of weapons to deal with whatever Skyrim throws at you. From bows to swords to axes, it seems Skyrim has it all. However, a small selection of items are especially unique or otherwise difficult to come across, often times being hidden from the player or particularly rare. These objects are often particularly interesting and certainly worth further inspection. So today we’ll be taking a look at five more secret and unique weapons you may have missed in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

Dragonbane won't be marked stolen if you take it when you first find skyhaven temple, when the room is dark where you find it.
Yep, I've never had it marked stolen for me. because it's a weapon and naturally I take everything not nailed down.

For anyone who doesn't know:
When first entering Sky Haven Temple, you can take whatever is there since it is not yet "Claimed" so if you don't want to kill our beloved dragon, you can take the blade when you first arrive there, and use it throughout the rest of the quest line
Or get the Parthurnaxx Dilemma mod and tell the blades that they serve you and to know their place.

Also any stolen goods taken from you when you're imprisoned in The Forsworn Conspiracy get laundered when they're returned to you at the end of the quest.

To be fair, I don't think that most merchants will get anything out of its added effect since you have to kill a dragon to harvest its heartscales.

yeah, nobody up the alteration tree perk. I discovered it in my last gameplay when I made a set focused on magicka regeneration and magicka pool just to use detect life in Solitude and level the alteration tree really fast

Fun Fact: Zephyr's unique property isn't technically an enchantment. So you should be able to enchant it while keeping the increased draw speed.
Been holding onto it on my current playthrough until I can beast mode the bow.

Kahvozeins Fang, as a quest item, won't be removed even when you are in quests that remove all items from you. Which basically means you can glitch yourself this weapon into the thalmor embassy, the markarth mines and even Pelagius' mind. This can glitch some things though.
Yeah I originally came across it by accident tomb raiding, realized I couldn't drop it or get rid of it so I looked up what it was for... I was probably only lvl 30 in Alteration at the time so it was a big "oh well" for me, least you can make some money with it.
- if I'm not mistaken heartscales count as part of the quest too so they don't add any carry weight picking them up.
I'm actually curious on how the glitch would work beyond those locations giving how much oversight Bethesda was used in the game mechanics because Bethesda
Fun fact, if Kahvozeins Fang does glitch in your inventory and you're not able to drop it, you can place it on a weapon mount to remove it. But it will still be glitched in your inventory whenever you take it back.

The actual good thing about Borvir's dagger is that you can pick it up in the world at just level 1, when elven weapons don't noramally spawn until you reach level 20.
Im gonna have to disagree because everytime I played at level 5 I would go to Jarl Balgruufs quarters and in a display case is 100% always an elven sword for you to steal behind an Expert lock

Stahlrim boosts ice enchants. Since chaos has ice, it boosts all fire shock and ice in the chaos enchant. Highest possible sword base damage without mods, is stahlrim with ice and chaos enchant.
Skyrim has a disproportionate amount of frost resistant enemies though

that apply to 90% of the unique weapon in Skyrim. Seriously I lost count how many times I am excited to know how some legendary item looks like only to find it's basically just generic weapon with unique albeit weak enhancement.
Ancient Nord weaponry with a disappointing enchantment = Legendary weapon feared throughout the ages.

Fun fact: The girl who set herself on fire trying to use a flame cloak spell has a necklace. You can take it off her corpse, and it is her necklace, as it has [her name] silver necklace. Thought it was neat
Same for the Argonian trying to calm and enrage skeevers. They are students of Winterhold, and the quest to look for them is cut.

My headcanon with Borvir is that, if he was trying to make a mead better than Honningbrew, I wouldn’t doubt that he was trying to compete with the Black-Briars’ mead as well.
I imagine that the bandit is actually a mercenary hired by Maven Black-Briar to take care of Borvir before he truly became a threat to her business.

You forgot to mention that Borvir and Rundi were brothers who were both attempting to create a Meade to compete with Honningbrew and Blackbriar, you can acquire Rundi's Dagger from a little obelisk shrine section slightly northeast of Winterhold surrounded by Frost Rune spells that can easily cause the dagger to fling away, you can find the girl's ring on her burned corpse and she was trying to create a powerful destruction spell while being a novice and the argonian you can acquire the ring from his corpse if it doesn't Despawn glitch and he was trying to develop a mind control spell testing it on SKEEVERS not Mole Rats and he got cocky.
I managed to get the Flame Cloak spell from the girl, so I guess the spellbook can be easy to miss or it doesn't spawn every time.
@@unshakensalsa6220 i honestly prefer getting flame cloak that way, it makes it feel unique like the Equilibrium spell and Flaming Familiar and Convert Ore which are all one of a kind. The uniqueness is taken away by the fact you can just buy flame frost and shock cloak from Faralda. If I remember correctly ilas-Tai was working on Illusion Spells to manipulate minds better and was killed by the Skeevers he was experimenting on, but the skill training book nearby was an Alteration book and I think it was specifically Breathing Water which conflicts with what he was studying and experimenting AND conflicts that he's an argonian which naturally have the ability to breathe underwater.
Nate will stop finding new things about skyrim in the 5th Era

Even before this quest is completed, if you’ve already come across the dagger, You can … put it in a weapon rack. That will remove it from your inventory.
When Tolfdir tells you about it, a quest marker will point directly to wherever you’ve put it.
Heart scales are a neat greenish toned collectible. They weight in the same as dragon scales.
Also, I’m not sure how high a level you need to be but at least after level 70 I think,? Chaos enchanted weapons have a chance to spawn in as loot. So, you don’t need to destroy a unique weapon like the champions cudgel to get that chaos enchantment.
Just disenchant the cudgel and make a counterfeit replacement. Who needs to know? :P
When I got the champions cudgel I immediately broke it for the enchantment lol
Putting that enchantment on a stalhrim weapon will increase its damage by an additional 60%. Stalhrim weps are the most OP vanilla weapons when enchanted with Frost and Chaos.
Chaos can spawn on other weapons in the late game.
My theory is that Borvir was a broke college student who had to buy a fake knock off brand dagger

Actually with Dragonbane, if you take it as soon as you get to Skyhaven Temple it won't be marked as stolen. Only after the blades learn about Paarthurnax, will the item be marked as stolen. But if you get it before then it is always yours
For those of you who grabbed Dragonbane a bit too late and want to get rid of the stolen tag go to the thieves guild then fence and re-buy it, it might be a bit pricy but if you have the gold and want the sword.
A note regarding Dragonbane: There is a window of time when you first enter the area in which the armor set and the sword can be taken BEFORE Daphne and Elvis take over. If you take them during this time, they are not marked as stolen.

TINY DETAIL: add this to your list Nate, have your character go to her corpse and strip it of all of its gear and make sure she's near you because she has unique dialogue about leaving her with at least some dignity, I was laughing for a good two to three minutes when I first heard it!
Omg! I just finished that quest and decided to not strip her clothes because it felt wrong with her being right there. It’s funny how Skyrim can make you feel like the world is real.

I think everyone experiences the moment when they have so many weapons and magic abilities, they have trouble choosing what to use against a particular enemy.

Dragonbane can be counted as your item (not stealing), if you go to it straight away when you enter Sky Haven or do the storage glitch, where you store it somewhere and ask a companion to loot the chest or barrel
The mod he's using to change the look of the unique weapons is called Unique Uniques
Such a great mod. In vanilla skyrim, I was always disappointed picking up "unique" weapons that just looked like regular steel and whatnot

Yeah, thanks to Dark Souls I've caught myself using lightning against dragons in other games where dragons are resistant to it.
My favorite and slept on darksouls weapon is the iyrthrial shortsword. Doesn’t seem that strong and takes twinkling titanite to upgrade. When you to +5 it’s still not the strongest weapon but hits amount of hit in relation to stamina makes it incredible. Plus the freeze effect is so rare and affects stamina. I used it to kill dark eater Mirdir

I bought skyrim a month ago. when I alt tab, it has the in game cursor and also my mouse cursor zooming around. this game came out in like 2008.........

Dragonsbane and the Champion's Cudgel are pretty hard to miss, since they're found at main quest locations. Not very secret if you ask me.

Dragon Bane! Really useful against dragons (main quest best ítem), fortuneatly I had been upgrading sword skills and dwal wield, so It became quite a thing after finishing the main story line 🤟🔥💯 (still trying to beat the side quests in the hardest dificulty, though as it don't give no better stats ítems nor experience, it's just for fun challenge, might try to get the bow Zephyr to help on It now 😉)🙏

Putting the Chaos damage on Stalhrim weapons and having the augmented elemental perks in the destruction tree will give you insane damage.
Especially if you go through the enchanting perks too. Take the perks for extra elemental damage

Add Ahzidal's armor to the mix and you can have ridiculously high elemental damage on it. Like 230 fire, Frost, and shock damage.

I love using Zephyr. It’s been my go to bow every time I play Skyrim (I always play archers in Skyrim) also it’s original owner is voiced by the actress who voiced one of my favourite game series title character. I lost it when I heard her voice (Yes I know she voices other characters but that’s the first time I heard her voice without any accent or vocal embellishment.)

Something similar happens in a quest where a nord asks for your help to stop a necromancer in his family tomb. If you try and take anything from the urns or burial jars he’ll call you out on it, but then he’s just like “fine, I guess you can have that stuff as a reward”
Note about the chaos enchantment: If you enchant a daedric warhammer with the same enchantment, and you even have enough enchanting power to match the champion's cudgel, it will be significantly worse. Why? Because there exists a bug in skyrim day one, and was never addressed by bethesda.
Try using the college robes' enchantments, you will see that while you can make the school buff scale, the magicka regen wont. that's the bug. Enchantments with two effects only scale one of the effects with your enchanting ability. The chaos enchantment is three effects, one for each element. electric damage will scale and deal the damage according to the enchanment description, but fire and frost will only do 10 damage, no matter what.
This is an issue with player enchanted items, but not random loot. This is addressed by a few mods, the only one that affirmatively says it fixes this issue is Scrambled Bugs. the unfortunate thing about it is that because its an engine altering mod, it is specific to the engine, and the VR version is slightly different, meaning this bug is not addressed in the VR version.
Tolfdir at the College of Winterhold is not the only NPC to ask you to get Dragon Heart Scales and the dagger. If you progress through the Blades quest Esbern will tell you of a dagger that can harvest dragon heart scales that can be used for dragon potions that you can get from him when completing the quest "Dragon Research". At the start of the quest Esbern will tell you where the dagger is.
The mods always get me. I’ve been playing since 2011 but I still go “OH that weapon looks soooo cool!!!!”

Auriel's Bow also has a faster draw speed, combined with its enchantment it ha better dps than Zephyr.
He was more talking about a unique bow some people might not know it exists. Also, Zephyr is 2 points higher in dps, at least from my experience.

Intrigued by Zephyr...I think I did that quest but don't recall collecting the bow, or if I did I didn't really think much of it compared to what I was already using.
I LOVE the thought of Dragonbane though!
The zephyr with quick shot breaks the bow. When you draw back the bow all the way and let go it's the game doesn't read it as a full draw. The arrow is very week when you let go. You need to wait another half second to get a full shot.

I just received the quest to find the mission students and it explained what they were doing very similarly to what you described
I'm pretty sure you can ask Tolfdir about the missing apprentices, but he doesn't give you any quest, he just tells you who they were and what were they up to

The quest for the aetherial items and getting zephyr was so fun and one of my favorite quests to this day

If you pay attention to the dialogue at The College of winterhold, there is a conversation about missing students, and he says one of them was doing experiments with Skeevers, the area with the Skeevers is not to far from the college either if you go exploring out into the sea and surrounding area so you can put two and two together, he also tells you about the Honningbrew mead experiment and the other girl with her fire, I don’t remember the name of the person that tells you but it’s definitely in the game.
Yeah I cane across the heartscale quest on my own. Gives you some pretty dope Master Spells. I got the Master Conjugation Spells as well but I recently legendary'd my Conjugation skill so I can't use it yet. Uses to much mana... and I have 420
I remember when I first played and found Faix war hammer I was like wow, this is cool and disenchanted it and place the enchantment onto my bow....I later realised how much of an idiot I was, as watching this video reminds me just that Ahah.

Zephyr is one of my favorite bows, combining it with Quick Draw and Ranger perks with heavy armor and the Stead Stone leads to a really capable combat archer.

Lost to the Ages was an epic quest, I recommend it for anyone with Dawnguard. There are tons of rewards in for you, including this epic bow.

The only problem for Lost to the Ages for me is that it requires so so so much dungeon crawling, and i procrastinate so much in game as well as outside thr gamr i dont think i could do it :>

@Arnez Willis I have had random crashes on Xbox 360 but not while starting combat with Falx Carius, I always had a crash in the hidden vale while fighting the two dragons, I'd kill one and when the other one was at half health the game would freeze, this had happened multiple times on the same occasion
The champion cudgel is also great for tenderizing meat 🍖

Surprised nobody's mentioned Nerveshatter. I think it's a part of one of the DLCs but it's only found in what I think is Crystal drift Cave by Riften. Very powerful doing 44 damage points and shock damage too. It's a two-handed hammer and it's got a very unique look. Easy to get too considering all you need is one amber and one madness ore
Nerveshatter looks so badass! I had to wait to use it tho as I wasn't about to run it with just any armor set lol had to get that madness getup😎

I played it years ago. Sure it's something to do with the guantlet under winter hold and you put 4 or 5 special rings on the fingers that the lost apprentices have.

Champion's Cudgel has been my primary through my current playthrough, and it's been a BEAST.
Champion’s Cudgel broke my brain when I first found it. I’m currently playing an archer class with high enchantment skill, so I found out I could disenchant the cudgel and learn chaos damage! THEN, I already had the perk that allowed me to place 2 enchantments on a weapon. So I have a Dragonbone bow that has Chaos damage AND chance to paralyze 😂 needless to say combat has become immensely more entertaining
