I think most if not all parents were just like yours, I'm kind of the same way with my kiddos in respect to not allowing them to spend the night at others homes simply because I'm paranoid as heck (and with the way people are these days I just can't) I didn't start letting my daughter play in makeup until she was almost 15 and she couldn't wear it out the house until she was 16.
Completely understandable about the sleepovers. It's a lot of craziness that's going on in the world so you gotta be careful. & makeup at 16 sounds about right for me too lol
Love the conversation during the video. I was just looking at an Instagram photo and thinking have you done any hair videos lately and I decided to check this one out. I like how both came out. I may have to try this twist out method. I just started using mousse too. I did a flexi rod set that was finally successful with Maui Curl Foam Mousse.
Alana, told ya! Design Essentials mousse does it! That is the only mousse I use with a perm rod set and my curls last until I wash my hair...which is weekly but if I wanted to I can go another full week which I don't. I never tried with a wash & go though. With children where to draw the line; follow what you think as a parent is best never what the world thinks or says. I wasn't allowed a lot as a child either but my mother did perm my hair when I was 10 and I wish she said no. But now that I'm grown I chose to not anymore. We raise our children way different than most do. Our kids love the simple things and they do have some of the expensive electronics but we make sure they know that it doesn't stop there and that is not a need to fit in. Plus we're Christians so we implement that a lot and it helps. I've taught our daughter modesty and explained to her why anything less isn't appropriate. It can be done. Just never come off too hard, I am honest and real with our kids and they see that in my husband and I that helps a lot. Versus saying what my mom said to me a lot growing up "because I said so", "because I'm the parent", girl those things didn't help me then. I tell my kids the truth so they can better understand without explaining myself to them. Grant it sometimes I say "because I said so" lol but not much! Blessings~
6:57 nah, i was with you until the braided weave. That was the one thing i was allowed to get that, at least. Not incredibly long lengths to my butt or waist but still. I was able to get them
I love design essentials. I started my natural hair journey using it and got lost in the Shea Moisture trend (when it was black owned). I've been going back to DE and I don't know why I didn't just stick with it. Maybe I'll try their mousse out as well! I only use their shampoo and conditioner
Yesss! I lowkey went through the same thing. It's so easy to get lost in other products cause there are so many natural hair products now! I definitely suggest trying the mousse out 👌🏾Now that you mentioned it, I'm gonna add their shampoo and conditioner to the list!
I definitely went through what you went through growing up. My parents are old school and didn't believe in "being grown" on their dime😂 But now I get it❤ Your hair came out amazingly gorgeous ‼️ Mousse has definitely been the new it gworl for styling... I have tried Mousse def on a twist out and I loved the results
Thank you! Yess mousse really is that girl fr! I had no idea lol & Yeah it's crazy that we don't understand it until we get older. Idk about you but I'm definitely glad I was raised that way!
Carribean parents don’t plan when it comes to raising their kids, I grew up in the church so my parents didn’t play that when it came what we were doing or wearing when we went out, no sleep over friends house except family and the kids at the church, I had an amazing childhood and high school years, the kids today don’t understand and couldn’t handle the life without their electronic devices smh, I got my cellphone at 18 vs now they get it at under 10 smh
Yes I looooove Mousse for all of my styles. I really like the Mielle Honey and Pomegranate Curling Mousse. It's the best.
Sis, quit playing!! Your hair texture is so beautiful u could use DAWN DISH SOAP and it would still be GORGEOUS! 😂😂
Lol you're hilarious! I appreciate you sis! ❤❤

wrap lotion side has more shine and definition. and the curl defining side has more volume.

@lanasymone yasss! I love the smell of the conditioner! And I promised myself that I would stop being a product junky😂😂
Your hair really turned out nice. I know you only filmed applying the mousse, but did you anything else off camera like a leave in?
Thank you!
Nope - just the mousse 😊
