- This week we hit the road solo to what I thought would be cooler temps in Spring Mountain to do some dispersed camping with the dog and cooked up some salmon over the ignik firepit for dinner!

Nice! Thats great to hear, my Dometic DIED sitting in my garage for a season when it was really hot, I now have to take it inside during the summer if we have it running. Luckily it was still under warranty though so Dometic ended up replacing it (literally 1 month before the warranty expired) lol Thanks for watching Randy!

Now having said that....the one thing about camping that I don't care for is......The Bugs!! 🦟🐝🐛 That ugly black bug in your video "yikes!" 😲😝 Even when trying to cook, there everywhere! Loved your recipe for the salmon, that looked delicious. 😋 You mentioned about the egg salad sandwich that you've would have liked some crunch in it, well when I make mine I chop up some finely celery stalks just for that crunch your talking about. I like it that way, give it a try and see what you think? 😊 Anyway, I hope you find a cooler spot next time for your over nighters 🏕️ Glad to see Rio is back to her fun, spunky self again. 🐕
Seeing all your campsite equipment and talking about upgrading, really is eye opening and for upgrading could really cost some $$$$. But i think you've got plenty of great items for camping! Yes!! Thats exactly what I was thinking that would bring a great crunch to the egg salad sando was some celery! I'm sure I'd love it! haha And yes! I'm in no rush to upgrade anything, I do enjoy the setup we have currently so i'll make do with what we got for now :) The bugs can get crazy but this trip wasnt too bad, that is why I pack the bug net tent when Carly is camping with me, she loves the ability to hang in there (bug free ish) lol Thanks for watching Phyllis!! Should wait for black friday for the fridge/freezer combo....great idea tubing for the holes in the bed. By the way google pixel & apple phones has the option of sending/sharing satellite SOS messages to your loved ones.

I love having ice with my drinks, so I just put ice in a big ziplock bag then put it into the dometic fridge.
Thats a good idea! I usually pack a small cooler with those reusable ice packs then pack the ice in a bag into that so try and keep it as cool as possible
I recently bought a Taco with a 5 ft bed and have been looking at the harker EDC and the super pacific. The harker gives you quite a bit extra livable spave for the 5ft bed trucks. The super pacific is just really well thought out.
Nice! I saw the Harker EDC at one of our first overland event, great concept utilizing the truck tailgate along with the bed to really expand the inside space!

Try pouring your drinks in a insulated flask bottle and it'll stay colder longer without using ice

I am struggling with the decision to upgrade my tent also, but probably will. I sure would miss the transforma panels that the gfc provides. My wife and I get up at different times. I have a turbo cubby, so all i remove is one of the small pannels to have a cooking shelf. All my morning coffee stuff is also easy access from the inside. Good luck with whatever you choose.

@Kadenventures half of the Turbo Cubby is accessible from the inside. It's pretty darn handy and surprisingly doesn't take up as much room as you would think.

Best campground recommendation in Lake Mead close to Las Vegas-- I'd say Boulder Beach Campground - huge campground with a ton of spots (so you shouldnt have any issues with finding a spot and you can book online), great views of the water from certain spots, close to the water/beach access (where you can drive or walk), and close to Boulder City/Henderson for amenities
We live in Henderson, we just got a Ram Rebel, our first camping trip will be Lovell Canyon in a few weeks, hoping it’s cooler by then.

Hey Kaden, do some short hiking around the park just to show us some of the views.
This isnt really a park area, its just a dispersed campsite area off the main road. There is a hike further down the road called Lovell Canyon Trail though, I may try to hike that one day!
In case this helps later, I use plastic and metal ice cubes for camping and at home , no water needed and reusable I got mine on Amazon. Also they don't water down your drink.

I recommend the bodega t50 good size not to big or small and last about 3 days with my EcoFlow also doesnt break the bank

Kaden you are my go-to source for camping/adventuring around the Las Vegas and surrounding areas. Your videos are much appreciated. In regards to the sketchy encounter you had there, have you done any videos on the subject of sketchy situations and people encounters? There are some videos on TH-cam regarding that subject but I'd like to get your take on how you deal with that issue. Area's like Government wash have gotten so bad that with it being shut down it is going to disperse the problematic dispersed campers (pun intended). Hope Lovell Canyon doesn't get bad but I've moved on from spots there recently like you experienced in your video. Thanks for taking the time to share your adventures!
Thanks Jim! Appreciate the feedback. I don't talk too much about sketchy situations/people encounters because I honestly haven't had many encounters like it. What it comes down to is I go with my gut, if something seems off I wont camp there and will move on to a different spot (I always have secondary spots in mind in case my first spot doesnt work out). I'm always prepared though for any worse case scenarios, even if you dont see it in videos my 9mm is very close or easily accessible when i'm at camp especially dispersed camping with no signal and not many people out. With the dog it definitely helps bec she can alert me to anything I dont notice. Another reason why I always tell my wife where i'm camping and let her know that I got to camp safely especially when I dont have signal (why I have no issues paying $10 a month for the Garmin subscription). Bottom line, trust your gut, be prepared, have a plan and always let someone know where you are.
Man! I didnt realize Gov wash was getting shut down (along with 8 mile road) which is so unfortunate. I love those areas so that is a big bummer to hear about (I just got done reading about it so thanks for the info on this). Really hoping Lovell Canyon doesnt get bad like this either. 99 cent stores have those beads for the bathroom that soak up moisture. I wonder if that would help you. 99 cents couldn't hurt to try.

I have a ARB Classic 55qt and a BougeRV 21qt (cheap 150 bucks). Ive ran them frig and freezer depending on storage needs. I have alot of height in my LR4 so i stack them while driving. I just picked up the Ignik 5lb propane growler so i cut down that huge 20lb can, I want to get that fire can too.
Nice!! I've thought about getting the 5lb growler to save on space, where do you normally get them refilled? The only places I know of are Costco but that seems like such a pain to go in and grab someone to refill. Thats why I've kept the 20lb tanks its just so easy to exchange them pretty much at any gas station

@@Kadenventures we can also make it at home but need to get Japanese mayo, which is available at Costco. The “creamy” bread is available at Hamada Ya (inside Mutsuwa market) or Cream Pan Bakery in OC if you get a chance to go there….. 😊
Yes, let me know when you know your trip schedules. Right now, USD is still strong against JPY so everything is “inexpensive” except air tickets and hotels as a lot of foreigners are visiting….
I recommend the wolfbox 12v. I’ve been running it non stop for two years no issue, and even not on sale it’s under 300 bucks, way easier to test out than the iceco that keep suffering price keep
