Indeed. Derek Trucks is very similar like that. They both have encyclopedic knowledge about harmony, rhythm and melody, but they are all "at the service" of the blues...the most emotive music there is :-)
Tribal Tec have to be one of the most underrated bands ever. Scott's chord book, which explores this stuff, all in 16 pages, is truly brilliant. As is his playing. 👋

I was born in Miami and I was a huge Dolphins fan back in the day when they won Superbowls in 1972 and 1973.
What this man shows me more than anything, is his complete love of music and the instrument. He is unstoppable. He just keeps going, always!!
