That's awesome you're already on book 5. As i have said before, it is the low point in the series. But it still does have some nice wholesome moments that have stuck with me. As you read, there will be a lot of characters and plot points that do seem pointless, but the story really does come together in the end. I do not remember your opinions on Roger, but i think this book is where he really starts to some into his own and grow on you as a character. Once you get to the last 200-300 pages, the series really goes back on an upswing. Each getting better than the last. Your patience will be rewarded. Cheers and happy reading.
I found book 5 a bit slow in places. I takes about 200 pages for 1 day at the gathering, before the wedding, although I really like the baptisms of the children at the gathering. Books 6 - 9, really pick up steam.

Them arguing at the river (8:11) is one of their favorite scene. Sam and Caitriona had it for their audition. They lived playing it

This was the first" love scene" they filmed. Both of them complained about 'rug burn' afterward.
